HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - James William Breen Jr., 57, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at his home.
Born Jan. 5, 1941, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Claudia Lilley Breen of Hedgesville and the late James William Breen Sr.
He was formerly employed at Spring Mills 76 Truck Stop.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a Catholic.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Young Breen; a daughter, Susan Breen of Hedgesville; a brother, Thomas Charles Breen of Hedgesville; and three sisters, Darlene Ruggieri and Virginia Varchetto, both of Pittsburgh, and Patricia Staub of Charlotte, N.C.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. L. Jack Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery, Sleepy Creek, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
William F. Sankbeil Jr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A memorial service for William Frank Sankbeil Jr., 71, who died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Martinsburg. The Rev. Watts will officiate. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation.

Beatrice Miskimon
BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Beatrice "Miss Bea" Miskimon, 100, of Bolivar, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at Integrated Health Services Nursing Home in Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Aug. 29, 1898, in Bolivar, she was the daughter of the late Edward Miller and Florence Mary Sponsler Miskimon.
She was a school teacher at Harpers Ferry Elementary School, retiring after 43 years.
She was a member of Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church.
She also was a member of Harpers Ferry Women's Club and West Virginia Retired Teachers Association.
She is the last of her immediate family.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery in Bolivar.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. 25425.

Paul Brannon
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Paul Brannon, 82, of Bunker Hill, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born April 29, 1916, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Frances Belle Largent Brannon.
His wife of 46 years, Evelyn Bowers Brannon, preceded him in death.
He was a self-employed carpenter. He retired from St. Joseph School and Church, where he worked in the maintenance department.
He was a member of Mountain View Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy B. Eckerd of Colonial Heights, Va., and Sandra Kaye Powell of Bunker Hill; one son, Larry W. Brannon of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one grandson, Brian Brannon, and one great-niece, Sherry Petry, both raised by Mr. and Mrs. Brannon; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Brannon and Dora Anderson; and three brothers, Ira Lee Brannon, Roy Brannon and Eugene Brannon.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Dottie Dunham will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Daniel B. Garrett Jr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Daniel B. Garrett Jr., 72, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at River Bend Park in Falling Waters, W.Va.
Born Aug. 21, 1926, in Arlington, Va., he was the son of the late Daniel B. Sr. and Margaret Watkins Garrett Sr.
He retired from the U.S. government.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120 Loyal Order of Moose and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.
He is survived by a close friend, Doris Sutphin of Martinsburg; three sons, Daniel B. Garrett III, Robert Garrett and Richard Garrett; two stepdaughters, Donna Sine and Dora Sutphin; and one stepson, David Sutphin.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Falling Waters Presbyterian cemetery in Spring Mills, with military graveside services conducted by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.

Arlene C. Brown
RANSON, W.Va. - Arlene Craig Brown, 58, of Apple Tree Gardens, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
Born March 29, 1940, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Allen Craig and Viola Craig Coston Washington.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Charles Town.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Brown of California; two sisters, Geraldine Gibson of Ranson, and Mary Craig of Charles Town; two brothers, Leon Craig of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Allen Craig of Charles Town; six nieces, seven nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Craig.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Abner Carey will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens cemetery in Martinsburg.
Friends will be received at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Eloise Self
INWOOD, W.Va. - Eloise Self, 68, of Inwood, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at her home.
Born July 27, 1930, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilson C. and Sarah E. Oliver Moreland.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Self; four daughters, Nita Starr of Santa Fe, N.M., Deborah K. Self and Laura D. Self, both of Sterling, Va., and Jean Self-Trail of Manassas, Va.; two sisters, Carole Brown of Paw Paw and Marjorie Grant of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
