BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Frank LeRoy King Jr., 50, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born Dec. 8, 1947, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of Betty L. Bauch King and the late Frank LeRoy King Sr.
He was a self-employed contractor.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60; and Moose Lodge 1483, both of Berkeley Springs.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Kelley Golliday of Augusta, W.Va.; a son, Lance King of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Betty Kerbs of Crown Point, Ind., Christine King of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Teresa King of Hebron, Ind.; a brother, Donald King of Lowell, Ind.; three granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael King.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The funeral home will be open today from noon.

Blanche E. Welsh
MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. - Blanche Elizabeth Welsh, 68, of Middleway, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born March 2, 1930, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Pringle and Rachel Sallie Rice Gerard.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William C. Dunson; and by her second husband, Andrew J. Todd Jr.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Ranson, W.Va.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Demien of Gerradstown, W.Va., and Samantha Wilson of Moorefield, W.Va.; a son, Boyd D. Dunson of Middleway; a sister, Jennie Lee White of Terra Alta, W.Va.; two brothers, Neil Davis of Ridgeway, W.Va., and Howard Gerard of Cerllin, Md.; her former husband, Donald Welsh of Fort Pierce, Fla.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, William C. Dunson.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 114 S. Fairfax Blvd., Ranson. The Rev. William Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic cemetery, Middleway.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town, W.Va.

Joseph J. Downs
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Joseph Josiah Downs, 6 months, of Blue Ridge Acres, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at his home.
Born May 3, 1998, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, he was the son of William David and Lea Ellen Layton Downs of Harpers Ferry.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandparents, William and Barbara Downs of Oak Hill, W.Va., and Janet Coe of Harpers Ferry; maternal grandfather, Ebby Ramsburg of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Siabhan Downs of Morgantown, W.Va.; and three brothers, Noah Downs, William Downs and Phillip Humerick, all at home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Silver Grove United Methodist Church, Chestnut Hill Road, Harpers Ferry. Pastor Van Marsceau will officiate. Burial will be private.
There will be no visitation.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mary Ann Sally Dodson, 51, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born July 4, 1947, in Loudoun County, Va., she was the daughter of Edith Fields Payne of Purcellville, Va., and the late Charles Payne.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Heritage Freewill Baptist Church, Inwood, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband, Jack R. Dodson Sr.; two stepsons, Jack R. Dodson Jr. of Charles Town and Harry M. Dodson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Bernice R. Reed of Ranson and Martha L. Simpson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Kathleen Danner and Audry Croson, both of Charles Town, and Joyce Barley of Loudoun County; a brother, Charles Payne of Loudoun Heights, Va.; eight stepgrandchildren; four nieces; two nephews; a great-niece; and a cousin.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Pastor Russell Wright and Pastor Jimmy Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic cemetery, Middleway, W.Va.

Martha A. Hansrote
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Martha Ann Hansrote, 65, of Washington, D.C., died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Washington Hospital Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1933, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Reba B. Hollar Murphy.
She was a member of United Church of Christ, Christ Reformed Church.
She was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Reba Myers of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a son, Michael Murphy of Copperas Cove, Texas; three sisters, Betty Anderson, Alice Walburn and Norma Voorhees, all of Martinsburg; three brothers, William W. Murphy of New Castle, Del., Charles Murphy of Martinsburg and Harry Murphy of Margate, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Whitacre and Mary Hess; and a brother, Edward Murphy Jr.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Dr. Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate.

Daniel M. Abbott
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Daniel Mitchell Gojkovich Abbott, 74, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Silver Age Services where he resided.
Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Michael and Victoria Campean Gojkovich.
He graduated from Roosevelt College of Chicago with a bachelor of science degree in psychology and biology. He was a graduate student at the University of Chicago, where he studied electronics.
He was employed with the Department of Health and Human Services, National Cancer Institute, as a contract specialist, in Washington, D.C. He also had been employed as a nursing assistant in Frederick, Md.; American Hospital Supply Corp., Washington, D.C.; and Foringer and Company, Rockville, Md.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served with the 11th Armored Division and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Victory Medal and a Purple Heart, among others.
He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 268 of Germantown, Md., Combat Infantrymen's Association, Commander's Club DAV and Veterans-Battle of the Bulge; and a charter member of World War II Memorial.
He is survived by two children, Dayna Robine of Winchester, Va., and Debra Ann Gojkovich of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Mary Ann Stoery of Northbrook, Ill., a brother, Mitchell Gojkovich of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Culpeper National cemetery, Culpeper, Va.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
