LARGENT, W.Va. - Portia Virginia Largent, 77, of Largent, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at her home.
Born Jan. 29, 1921, in Largent, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence McKinley and Flora Edith Merchant Batt.
She attended public schools in Morgan County, W.Va.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Otis Watson Largent; one daughter, Sandra Jean Lipinski of Hancock; four sons, Otis Watson Largent Jr. of Hampstead, Md., James Ira Largent, Roger Lee Largent and Ronald Thomas Largent, all of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Mamie Carpenter of Keystone Heights, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lillian Bennett, Mary Perry, Annabelle White, Zella Whisner and Shirley Ann Batt; and one brother, Charles Allen Batt.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Hennis H. Fox will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Nebo cemetery in Great Cacapon, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 11 a.m.
Roy L. Hansrote
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Roy Lee "Mike" Hansrote, 50, of Falling Waters, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998.
Born Nov. 22, 1947, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Albert and Pearl Gnatt Hansrote Sr.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Fraley of Marlowe, W.Va., and Nancy Anderson of Martinsburg; and three brothers, Albert Hansrote Jr. and Rodney Hansrote Sr., both of Martinsburg, and Larry Hansrote of Hedgesville, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Hansrote; and a brother, Ronald Hansrote.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Mason Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhill cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wayland C. Honaker
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Wayland C. Honaker, 87, of Hedgesville, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at his home.
Born May 7, 1911, in Alderson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Gilmer Echols and Anna Susan Ballard Honaker.
He retired in 1971 from the Department of Agriculture as a soil conservation officer.
He was a member of Tomahawk Christian Church.
He was a charter member and founder of Tomahawk Ruritan Club.
He was instrumental in building the new Back Creek Bridge on Route 9, for which he received the Distinguished West Virginian Award presented by Gov. Gaston Caperton.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alma G. Sibold Honaker; two daughters, Wilma Jane Yost of Berkeley Springs and Pamela Diane Stickel of Martinsburg; a son, Jerry W. Honaker of Hedgesville; a sister, Charlotte Marie McMahan of Fayetteville, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a nephew; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, James W. Honaker.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Jerry Holdman will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Ralph E. Mull
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ralph E. Mull, 76, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at his home.
Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Montgomery, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry W. and Ida Hall Mull.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Houseknecht Mull.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy A. Mull, at home; one son, Harry T. Mull of Berkeley Springs; a sister, Vivian McMillen of Watsontown, Pa.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Helen E. Spielman
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen E. Spielman, 71, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 29, 1927, in Frederick County, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Eda Vincent Mills.
She was a member of Women's Auxiliary of the VFW; and of the Eagles.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Spielman; four daughters, Jo Ann Remington and Rachael Ramey, both of Culpeper, Va., Margaret A. Danner of Berryville, Va., and Jeanne Donivan of Martinsburg; two sons, Wayne Walters of Norfolk, Va., and Hank Link of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Mills; and two sisters, Noda Knighting and Odell Walters.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Hubert L. Plummer will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Georgie A. Post
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Georgie Arretta Post, 76, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.
Born March 12, 1922, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Emory Nelson and Viola Zezella Elliott Post.
She was preceded in death by her common law husband, Gilbert Miller.
She attended Berkeley Springs Elementary School.
She was a seasonal fruit processor at local orchards. She had been a homemaker in recent years.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by a sister, Emily J. "Tiney" Bowers of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Shives, Dorothy Kelley and Frances Dillow; and three brothers, Charles Post, James Post and Richard Post.
Services and burial will be private at Catalpa United Methodist Church cemetery, Hancock.
