MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Dorothy B. Bennett, 80, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 25, 1918, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Archie and Rosetta Mae Shirley Billmyer.
She was a member of Mountain View Church of the Brethren in Inwood, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband, Charles M. Bennett; a daughter, D. Rosa Lee Willis of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons, Charles A. Bennett Sr. of Stephens City, Va., and Robert L. Bennett of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; a sister, Evelyn Dunham of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Church of the Brethren. Carl Burleson, her nephew, will officiate. Burial will be private.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Arnold L. Slonaker
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Arnold L. Slonaker, 88, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Dec. 2, 1909, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Bessie Clark Slonaker.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He retired after 43 years with Interwoven Mills Co. He was retired from the Berkeley County School Board.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and Hott Memorial Class.
He was a member of Berkeley County School Board Retirees.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Pearrell Slonaker.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Slonaker Shipley; two sisters, Iva Ropp and Carrie O'Roke; and a brother, LeRoy Slonaker.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Arlene R. Carr and Dr. Carroll A. Doggett will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Paul R. Fitez
ELKINS, W.Va. - Paul R. Fitez, 81, formerly of Hagerstown, and more recently of Canaan Valley and Elkins, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
Born Jan. 27, 1917, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Marshall and Millie Fitez.
He was a 1934 graduate of Hagerstown High School, and a 1938 graduate of Ohio State University.
He was a vice president of Fairchild Industries in Germantown, Md., and was employed by Canaan Valley Resorts.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
He was a member of American Management Association, National Association of Manufacturers, and Aerospace Industry Association.
He was president of Mason-Dixon Council, Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award; was a vice president of Hagerstown Chamber of Commerce, a director of Goodwill Industries and United Way of Washington County, and was on the board of trustees of Washington County Hospital. He was on the Maryland Governors Economic Development Commission, and was cited in the World Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Business Leaders of Maryland.
He was a member of Canaan Valley Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Halterman Fitez of Elkins, whom he married
Jan. 1, 1943; one son, Paul R. Fitez Jr. of Dayton, Ohio; and one granddaughter, Nancy S. Fitez of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George R. Fitez.
Graveside services will be in Olivet cemetery in Moorefield, W.Va., at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
Virginia H. Waugh
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Virginia Hunter Waugh, 84, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 3, 1914, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Nanny Catheryn Henry Hunter.
She was a registered nurse and senior charge nurse at City Hospital in Martinsburg for 15 years. She retired from War Memorial Hospital after 22 years.
She was a member of Church of Christ.
She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Waugh and Nora Dusing, both of Berkeley Springs, Mary Virginia Beckman of Swanton, Md., and Brigette Hausman of Cumberland, Md.; four sons, Tom Waugh of Alexandria, Va., Arthur Charles A.C. Waugh of Fairbanks, Alaska, Jess Waugh of Atlanta, Ga., and Jay Waugh of Berkeley Springs; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brill and Martha Price; three brothers, Charles Hunter, Ted Shackeford and William Hunter; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs. Edwin Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Robert L. Kneisley
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Robert L. Kneisley, 74, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born Sept. 18, 1924, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Cleveland and Mary Pauline Collier Kneisley.
He retired as a mechanical engineer for the U.S. Commerce Department.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Seat Pleasant Lodge 218, AF & AM; and National Association of Federal Employees.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Frye Kneisley; three daughters, Debbie Kimball of Clifton, Va., Roxanne Kneisley and Mary Kneisley, both of Odenton, Md.; a sister, Shirley Grams of Hanover, Pa.; a brother, Richard Kneisley of Cumberland, Md.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Margaret Raven and the Rev. Christopher D. Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Elizabeth J. Golden
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Elizabeth Julene Golden, 45, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 16, 1953, in Monterey Park, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Wiley Frank and Elsie Lee Reed Hill.
She graduated from Chaffey High School, Ontario, Calif.; and graduated from Hagerstown Business College in 1981.
She was a member and had been chief of Morgan County Rescue Service in Berkeley Springs.
She was a member of Berkeley Baptist Church, Berkeley Springs.
She had served as president of Berkeley Springs High School Band Boosters.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dale Andrew Golden; a daughter, Kristie Michelle Golden of Berkeley Springs; a son, Kevin Andrew Golden of Berkeley Springs; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. Pastor George Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m.
