SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Ruth Virginia Gano, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Canterbury of Shepherdstown.
Born May 9, 1911, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John W. McKee and Effie LeMaster McKee.
She was a member of New Street United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Golie Gano; one daughter, Louise Long of Shepherdstown; three sisters, Sara Benner of Shepherdstown, Gladys Lord and Beatrice Siler, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Homer McKee of Kearneysville, W.Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leota Osbourn and Mary Ellen Gess; and two brothers, Ganz McKee and Jack McKee.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
The Rev. Wendy Shullenbarger and the Rev. Keith W. Keidel will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cynthia L. Gray
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Cynthia L. Gray, 46, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at her home.
Born Nov. 29, 1952, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Albert and Wilmenta Myers Butler.
She retired as a nursing assistant at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph B. Gray of Martinsburg; a daughter, Sabrina Albert of Martinsburg; a son, Kevin Albert of Martinsburg; a sister, Christine Bex of Kentucky; and two brothers, Gregory Albert and Michael Albert, both of Martinsburg.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
James H. Minghini Sr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - James Harold Minghini Sr., 76, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born April 11, 1922, in Ganotown, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Lake and Ada Mason Minghini.
He was a 1940 graduate of Hedgesville High School.
He was retired. He had worked as an agent for Community Oil Company and later as a salesman for Apple Valley Chevrolet.
He was a member of Ganotown United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of the Moose; and Izaak Walton League.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Fink Minghini; a daughter, Judith R. Minghini of Martinsburg; a son, James Harold Minghini Jr. of Martinsburg; a sister, Geneva Frye of Ganotown; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Dru Minghini; and a grandson, James Harold Minghini III.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Garner.
She was a co-owner of The Garner's Ladies Shop; and Workingman's Store, both located on Queen Street in downtown Martinsburg.
She was involved with the downtown (Martinsburg) revitalization efforts in the 1970s.
She was active in numerous social, civic and charitable causes; and with Beth Jacob Synagogue.
She is survived by a daughter, Rochelle Garner Conklin of San Francisco; two sons, David Garner of Baltimore and Jay Garner of Asheville, N.C.; a brother, Milton Libowitz of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
She was a member of Falling Waters Presbyterian Church, and served as a Sunday school teacher and leader of the Presbyterian Women.
She also was a chairperson of Presbyterian Women for District I of Shenandoah Presbytery.
She was a 55 year member of Vanclevesville Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her husband, John T. Horner Sr.; two sons, Glen E. Sherrard of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and the Rev. Robert L. Sherrard of Millboro, Va.; one stepson, John T. Horner Jr. of Bloomfield, N.J.; one granddaughter; and three grandsons.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel.
