MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Opie Leon Rollyson, 73, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Feb. 3, 1926, in Braxton County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Opie Lee and Evalyne Grey Perrine Rollyson.
He was a graduate of Sutton High School.
He retired from E. I. DuPont.
He was a former chief of police in Sutton, W.Va.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Central Church of Christ.
He was a member of Shenandoah Valley Knife Association; Mason-Dixon Knife Association; VFW in Braxton County, W.Va.; and was past president of the Berkeley County Republican Club.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Frances Byrd Rollyson; five daughters, Dorothy Hunt of Keedysville, Sandra Collins of Hagerstown, Sherry Buddemeyer of Middletown, Md., Donna Woodward and Dixie Carpenter, both of Martinsburg; a sister, Betty Shepard of St. Albans, W.Va.; a brother, Lowell Rollyson of Barberton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Rollyson; and two grandchildren, Alan Butler and Dwight Carpenter.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Warren F. Keeney will officiate. Burial will be in Arden United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nathan L. Shilling
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Nathan Lee Shilling, 21, of South Hills Drive, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, as the result of an automobile accident.
Born Feb. 4, 1978, in Morgantown, he was the son of Gordon Lee Shilling of Morgantown and the late Clidetta Nethken Shilling.
He was a 1996 graduate of Morgantown High School; was All-State and captain of the MHS 1995 football team and captain of the 1996 baseball team. He received the Dominick Bonfili Award for Athlete's Athlete and the Arthur Clyde Award for Outstanding All Around Athlete.
He was a junior at West Virginia University, majoring in business. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Heath Aaron Shilling of Morgantown; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Virginia Bachmann Nethken; paternal grandparents, Berkeley and Kathleen Poffenberger Shilling, all of Morgantown; paternal great-grandmother, Sarah Poffenberger of Hagerstown; and aunts and uncles.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown. The Rev. Terry G. Fairbanks will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vivian R. Ford
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Vivian Robanna Ford, 77, of Martinsburg, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at City Hospital.
Born May 5, 1921, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillie Rockwell Robanna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Ford, in 1975.
She retired from Perfection Garment Co. in 1986 after 37 years.
She was a life member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Golden Rule Chapter 69, O.E.S.
She is survived by a son, Ronald W. Ford of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Walters and Christine Hess.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. William E. Merki will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Barbara L. Edwards
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Barbara Lee Edwards, 64, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born March 16, 1934, in Tomahawk, W.Va., she was the daughter of Mary Bruce Canby Stuckey of Hedgesville, and the late Jesse L. Stuckey.
She was a member of Hedgesville United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Hedgesville High School Alumni Association.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James L. Edwards; one daughter, Michele Golden-Ballarin of Markham, Va.; four sons, James A. Hyatt, Bruce J. Hyatt, Robert G. Edwards and James F. Edwards, all of Hedgesville; two sisters, Sandra Ruby of Hedgesville and Mary Ann Butler of Mintook, Ill.; one brother, Bruce Lon Stuckey; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Hedgesville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Terri A. Cofiell and the Rev. L. Jack Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Hedgesville cemetery, Hedgesville.

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Bonnie Jane Turner, 73, of Kearneysville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Aug. 31, 1925, in Parson. W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jacob David and Anna Mae Jolly Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Turner.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of Kearneysville.
She is survived by three daughters, Sylvia Breeden of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Ruth Myers of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Viola Welch of Kearneysville; five sons, Joseph William Turner Jr. of Slainsville, W.Va., Kenneth Allen Turner at home, Richard Lee Turner of Charles Town, W.Va., Douglas Melvin Turner of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Jerry Francis Turner of Baltimore; two brothers, Jerry Dawson of Baltimore and Robert Dawson of Frederick, Md.; one foster brother, Paul Dawson of Middleway, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Wayne Turner and David Eugene Turner; her stepmother, Martha Dawson; two brothers, Jack Dawson and Kenneth Dawson; two foster brothers, Wayne Dawson and David Dawson, and two gradnchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson. The Rev. John Faircloth will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Norval J. Puffenbarger
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Norval Junior Puffenbarger, 64, of Woodlawn Trailer Court, Charles Town, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Sept. 17, 1934, in Headwaters, W.Va., he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Mary R. Puffenbarger Smith.
He was employed in construction as a heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of Heritage Freewill Baptist Church, Inwood, W.Va.
He is survived by two sons, Stanley Wayne Puffenbarger of Jefferson Village, Charles Town, and Dennis William Puffenbarger of Frederick, Md.; one sister, Vickie Losh of Brandywine, W.Va.; one brother, Dale Puffenbarger of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Susan Puffenbarger; two sons, David Daniel Puffenbarger and James Harold Puffenbarger; and one brother, James Puffenbarger.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Tom Blake will officiate. Burial will be in Park Lawn cemetery, Rockville, Md.
