CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Cada Juanita Holliday, 81, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Feb. 12, 1918, in Page, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence James and Elva Gardner James.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town.
She was a member of AARP; and a former member of Shannondale Club Limited.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Holliday, whom she married
Jan. 3, 1936; a daughter, Patricia Ann Smith of Pasadena, Md.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Lilly.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

Margaret B. Fitzpatrick
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Margaret B. Fitzpatrick, 88, of Mission Road, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Oct. 19, 1910, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara T. Trethewey Burk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Francis "Joe" Fitzpatrick Sr., in 1996.
She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
She retired from the U.S. government, with the Department of Energy, Washington, D.C. She also was with the Office of Radiation Standards; and was secretary in the Department of Southern Rhodesia.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a past member of Shannondale Club LTD, Shannondale Garden Club, and Shannondale Women's Club, all of Harpers Ferry; a past member of Old Opera House Guild, Charles Town; and a member of AARP.
She is survived by a daughter, Margery F. Binch of Novato, Calif.; a son, Joseph F. Fitzpatrick Jr. at home; a brother, Robert Burk of Spring House Estates, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Burk.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Kent Tice will officiate. Burial will be in West Laurel Hill cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
The family will receive friends today at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Samsun O. Miller
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Samsun Orion Miller, infant son of William Lee Miller and Linda Ann Connor of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Frances Miller of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; maternal grandparents, Greg and Cathy Smith of Gerrardstown and Robert and Janet Connor of College Park, Md.; aunts; uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. Mark D. Johnson will officiate.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
Ralph Cogle
SILVER GROVE, W.Va. - Ralph "Jock" Cogle, 76, of Silver Grove, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 22, 1922, in Silver Grove, he was the son of the late Herbert Franklin and Grace Virginia Buzzard Cogle.
He was a retired concrete finisher for the Town of Leesburg, Va.
He was a member of Silver Grove United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and was a member of Fellowship Group.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma Isabelle Grove Cogle; three daughters, Juanita Maxine Buzzard and Lucille Ann Waters, both of Silver Grove, and Doris Jean Stewart of Kearneysville, W.Va.; a son, Earl Garnette Cogle Sr. of Silver Grove; four sisters, Gloria Grove, Shirley Long and Gladys Gift, all of Silver Grove, and Frances Price of Bolivar, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, including, Kenneth Ray Waters of Silver Grove, whom he raised; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Cogle, Luther Cogle and Russell Cogle.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Silver Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Basil Day Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Silver Grove cemetery.

Mary A. Gaumond
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Mary Arlene Gaumond, 80, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Sept. 17, 1918, in Watertown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Louella P. Scee Rockefeller.
She was a homemaker for many years. Prior to that she was a licensed insurance agent in Watertown. She then worked with North American Insurance Company as a secretary. She then published articles, wrote a poetry column and worked in layout with a local newspaper in Bowie, Md.
She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Stotler's Crossroads, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Paul Charles Gaumond; one daughter, Louise M. Flannery of Baltimore; two sons, Giles H. Gaumond of Gaithersburg, Md., and Rex A. Gaumond of Spanish Fork, Utah; one brother, Spencer Rockefeller of Cape Vincent, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Chase; and one brother, Clifford Rockefeller.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Winchester Grade Road, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Glenn F. Stevens, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union Street, Berkeley Springs. For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will be open today from noon to 9 p.m.

Millard Longerbeam
RANSON, W.Va. - Millard "Buddy" Longerbeam, 73, of 507 East 10th Street, Ranson, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 31, 1925, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Agnes Piper Longerbeam.
He was a retired carpenter and maintenance man for Dr. Trussell and Dr. Williams of Charles Town, W.Va.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Madeline Brookman Longerbeam; one daughter, Patricia Ann Whetzel of Ranson; one sister, Marie Ford of Ranson; two brothers, Leon Longerbeam of Ranson, and James Longerbeam of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Harder.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Word of Faith Tabernacle, Border Road, Kearneysville, W.Va. The Rev. C.D. Coley will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
