GLENGARY, W.Va. - Virginia Mae Mills, 72, of Glengary, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Jan. 24, 1926, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harvey H. and Margaret Palmer Mills.
She retired from Corning Glass.
She was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.
She was a member of Moose.
She is survived by her husband, Lois R. "Louie" Mills; a daughter, Jerry J. Cloud of Martinsburg; a son, Rodger F. Mills of Pennsylvania; a sister, Louise Kelly of Martinsburg; a brother, Harvey L. Mills of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lee Mills; and a sister, Rosemarie Albright.
Services will be Sunday at noon at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Michael Bageant will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Helen L. Green
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Louise Green, 66, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 7, 1932, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Kathleen Smeltzer Frazier.
She is survived by her husband, Claude E. Green; four daughters, Shirley Fraley and H. Jane Brown, both of Kearneysville, W.Va., Lisa Shawyer of Inwood, W.Va., and Cindy Laurella Green of Martinsburg; four sons, Robert Green, Johnny Green and Dave Green, all of Martinsburg, and Harry Green of Inwood; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Frazier and John Frazier; and a grandson, Kevin Green.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elizabeth G. Watson
HALLTOWN, W.Va. - Elizabeth Gertrude Watson, 74, of Halltown, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Jan. 9, 1925, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Roxie Hudson Watson.
She was a clerical worker for NIH in Bethesda, Md.
She was a member of Halltown Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a nephew, Gregory Brian Watson of Garrison, Mont.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lowe Watson of Shepherdstown, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Albert and Charles Elmer Watson Jr.; and a sister, Roxanne Watson.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town. Lay Pastor Alvin Russell will officiate.
Arrangements are by Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson.
John R. Hoffman
KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - John Richard Hoffman, 62, of 15 Megan St., formerly of Brunswick, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 14, 1936, in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Everitt Perry and Ada Virginia Baker Hoffman.
He was a retired custodian with Universal Cleaning Co., Martinsburg.
He is survived by four sisters, Marguerite Dixon, Evelyn Matthews, Winifred Crowl and Betty Boyce, all of Brunswick; his close friend, Mary Klahre; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine McLaughlin, and seven brothers, Everitt Hoffman, Alvie Hoffman, Raymond Hoffman, George Hoffman, Robert Hoffman, Amos Hoffman and Andy Hoffman.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The Rev. Stephen A. Swift will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights cemetery, Brunswick.
The family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home which will be open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.
Preston C. Yancey
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Preston C. Yancey, 73, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Burial will be in Culpeper National cemetery, Culpeper, Va.

George Randall
INWOOD, W.Va. - George Randall, 83, of Inwood, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 8, 1915, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Walter and Susan Danco Randall.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Inwood.
He also was a member of Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marlyne Giddings Randall; two daughters, Carol Nancy Randall at home and Sylvia Diane Harper of Martinsburg; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Devin B. Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery with military graveside services by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - The Rev. Vernon Wilbur Bittinger, 85, of Bunker Hill, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 3, 1913, in Garrett County, Md., he was the son of the late Floyd and Mary Gilpin Bittinger.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was an ordained minister with Living Waters Ministry of Greensboro, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Orpha Bittinger; a daughter, Leola Bittinger of Baltimore; three sons, Clark Bittinger of Mount Airy, Md., Marvin Bittinger of Bunker Hill and Gary Bittinger of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Beulah Cutter of Klondike, Md., Olive Glotfelty of McHenry, Md., and Pauline Switzer of Swanton, Md.; three brothers, Clark Bittinger, Marshall Bittinger and McKinley Bittinger, all of Garrett County; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Bittinger; and a brother, Alfred Bittinger.
Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. David Palmer will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery.
