INWOOD, W.Va. - Janie Catherine Wright, 85, of Inwood, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 3, 1913, in Scrabble, Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Phoebe Frazier.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Paul E. Wright; three daughters, Frances Pauline Hayes of Seabrook, Md., Shirley Ann Hayes and Nancy Anderson, both of Inwood; three sons, James W. Wright of Brookeville, Md., Edward Lee Wright of Mount Airy, Md., and Earl E. Wright of Woodbine, Md.; two sisters, Peggy Clark of Virginia and Jeanette Haines of Maryland; two brothers, Julian Frazier and Charlie Frazier, both of Maryland; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Ray Brosius will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. in Potomac Methodist Church Cemetery, Potomac, Md.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James R. Barnhart, Sr.
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - James R. "Jim" Barnhart Sr., 56, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born July 13, 1942, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Sherman G. Barnhart of Hedgesville and the late Trefa T. Snyder Barnhart.
He was a graduate of Hedgesville High School.
He owned Barnhart's Beef and Pork and had been previously employed by Corning Glass for 13 years. He had also farmed all his life.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1483, Berkeley Springs.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Sylvia Martin Barnhart; two daughters, Cindy Fouch of Hedgesville and Robin Mason of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Robert D. Barnhart at home, and James R. Barnhart Jr. of Hedgesville; two sisters, Donna Jean Frye and Nancy K. Bartgis, both of Hedgesville; two brothers, Willard G. Barnhart of Hedgesville and Bruce R. Barnhart of Inwood, W.Va.; four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Johnsonton Bible Church. The Rev. Jack L. Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery, Hedgesville.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Marion L. Zirk
INWOOD, W.Va. - Marion Leroy Zirk, 79, of First Street, Inwood, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester.
Born April 3, 1920, in Moorefield, W.Va., he was the son of the late George Walter and Minnie Judy Zirk.
He was retired from B&O Railroad as a brakeman.
He was a member of B&O Railroad Retired Veterans Association, United Transportation Association and AARP of Martinsburg, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife, Vena C. Mowry Zirk, whom he married in 1939; three daughters, Georgianna Hartley of Stephens City, Va., Donna Judy Willingham of Williamsport and Joyce Wanda Mills of Ashland, Va.; two sons, Marion W. Zirk of Star Tannery, Va., and James S. Zirk of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two sisters, Grace Steach and Nellie Zirk, both of West Virginia; three brothers, Bruce Zirk, Foster Zirk and Alec Zirk, all of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter Earl Zirk, Stanley Warren Zirk, Lee Wayne Zirk, and Marvin Symmons Zirk.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, Winchester. The Rev. Ken H. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester,
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Roy L. Rife
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Roy Lee Rife, 56, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 29, 1942, in Borderland, Ky., he was the son of the late Delmar and Shirley Pinson Rife.
He attended Borderland High School.
He had worked with Miller and Anderson Plumbing in Winchester, Va.; and worked as an assembler with Rayloc Industries in Hancock.
He attended Calvary Bible Church in Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Barbara Ann Stankwich Rife; three stepsons, Stephen Kuykendall, John Kuykendall and Troy Kuykendall, all of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Phyllis Marriot of Webster, Texas, Wilma Ortenzo of Chesapeake, Md., and Debbie Pugliese; two brothers, Delmar Rife Jr. of Bel Alton, Md., and Freddie Rife of Rome, Ga.; three stepgrandsons; a stepgranddaughter; a niece and six nephews.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, Route 522 South, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Jim Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs; and Friday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 10 a.m.
Mathias B. Muller
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Mathias B. "Max" Muller, 67, of John Brown's Farm, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Aug. 23, 1931, in New York City, he was the son of the late Mathias and Barbara Messher Muller.
He retired from the Security Department of Dulles Airport, near Sterling, Va.; He previously was on the Capitol Police Force in Washington, D.C.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, VFW Memorial Post 3522, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, all of Charles Town; and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, Brunswick, Md.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Joseph Muller of Silver Spring, Md., and Robert Wayne Muller of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Anna Pape of New York; two brothers, John Muller of New York and Joseph Muller of North Carolina; two grandchildren; and companion, Mary Jo Crawford of John Brown's Farm, Harpers Ferry.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
There will be no visitation.
Thelma J. Bauserman
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Thelma James Bauserman, 90, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 9, 1908, in Jones Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter James and Tennessee Bartgis James.
Her husband, John O. Bauserman, preceded her in death.
She retired from Woodward and Lothrop Department Store.
She is survived by one son, John Byron Bauserman of Wilmington, N.C.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Donovan Bauserman; a sister, Grace Garrett; and two brothers, Bud James and Pete James.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
