HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Seba Helen Russell Darby, 82, of Route 3, Box 2910, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Feb. 1, 1917, in Sanford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Ally Young and Janie Simpson Jones Russell.
Her husband, Reuben Upton Darby II, preceded her in death.
She was a 1935 graduate of Friends School in Baltimore, and a 1939 graduate of Hood College in Frederick.
She was postmaster in Big Pool for 20 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a Quaker.
She was a member of Homemakers Club in Big Pool.
She is survived by two daughters, Dana S. Darby of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Janie D. Fox, of Hedgesville, with whom she resided; one son, Reuben U. Darby III of Hedgesville; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private. She donated her remains to Human Gift Registry of West Virginia.

Linda S. Campbell
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Linda Susan Kisner Campbell, 46, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born April 6, 1953, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Russell M. and Florence Airey Kisner.
She was a 1971 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
She was employed by Marlowe 7-11.
She was a Protestant.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Russell Shea, at home; one sister, Mary V. Kisner of Martinsburg; three brothers, Ronald M. Kisner and Victor L. Kisner, both of Martinsburg, and Gary R. Kisner of Gaithersburg, Md.; and a close friend, Paul Shea.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde D. Kisner.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Curt T. Lowry will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wilbur S. Simpson
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Wilbur Stuart Simpson, 76, of Route 1, Harpers Ferry, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 30, 1922, in Loudoun County, Va., he was the son of the late Luther Leven and Bertha Wiley Simpson.
He retired from Dairyman Inc., Knoxville, as a truck driver.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mabel Russell Simpson; one daughter, Betty O'Brien of Frederick, Md.; three sons, Stuart L. Simpson of Martinsburg, James L. Simpson of Inwood, W.Va., and Ronald Eugene Simpson at home; two sisters, Mary Louise Holbert of Leesburg, Va., and Edith Holman of Panama City, Fla.; two brothers, Eugene Simpson of Hamilton, Va., and Buddy Simpson of Baltimore; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, A. J. Simpson; two brothers, Stanley Simpson and Shirley Robert Simpson, and one grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Harold Jones Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

John T. Newman
RANSON, W.Va. - John Thomas Newman, 57, of Ranson, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson.
Born Aug. 10, 1941, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late Max and Sarah Elizabeth Bell Newman.
He was a graduate of Page-Jackson High School, Charles Town.
He was employed with Halltown Paperboard Company, Halltown, W.Va., for 32 years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He attended House of Prayer Church of God #04, Charles Town.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Audrey V. Twyman Newman; one daughter, Estelita A. Newman of Ranson; two sons, Channing L. Newman of Kearneysville, W.Va. and Mark A. Newman of Ranson; four sisters, Nellie Good of Luray, Va., Sarah Nabors and Janet Newman, both of Charles Town, and Laura Washington of Luray; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, John T. Newman, Jr.; two sisters, Mazie Bland and Mary Newman and five brothers, David F. Newman, Buddy Newman, Harry Newman, Garfield Newman and James Newman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at House of Prayer Church of God #04. The Rev. Arthur Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens Cemetery, Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Alexander J. Koscienski
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Alexander J. Koscienski, 71, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born April 14, 1928, in Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Anna Abecanus Koscienski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Louise Smith Koscienski.
He was retired from the V.A. Medical Center.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose, Newton D. Baker Post 896, V.F.W, and Berkeley Post 14, American Legion.
He is survived by two sons, Robert A. Koscienski of Lancaster County, Va. and Christopher Koscienski of Irvington, Va.; two sisters, A. Helen Wojciechowski of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Mae Blaszak of New York; and three grandchildren.

George W. Kilmer
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - George W. Kilmer, 71, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Heartland Nursing Home.
Born July 5, 1927, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arnold and Millie Kisner Kilmer.
He was retired from Corning Glass Works after 35 years of service.
He was a member of VanVille Christian Church.
He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose and Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
He is survived by his wife, Frances L. Kilmer; three daughters, Peggy Duvall of Martinsburg, Sheri L. Kilmer and Tammy F. Brown, both of Michigan; two step-daughters, Kim L. Orr of Martinsburg and Sue A. McIntire of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one step-son, Roger W. Orr of Inwood, W.Va.; one sister, Mary F. Keller of Martinsburg; one brother, Herbert L. Kilmer of Inwood; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Evangelist Thomas J. Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
