MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Seth G. Jenkins, 65, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Western Maryland Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born July 11, 1933, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Seth H. and Laura Mae Wilson Jenkins.
He was retired from Martinsburg City Police and from People's Bank.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Pikeside United Methodist Church.
He was on the board of directors at Berkeley Senior Services; a charter and life member of Martinsburg Optimist Club; an active and life member of Berkeley/Jefferson County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 83; a member of Martinsburg Lodge No. 120, Loyal Order of Moose; and a volunteer at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Vandervort Jenkins; two sisters, Dixie Sprouse and Linda Jenkins, both of Martinsburg; two brothers, Kenneth W. Jenkins and Glenville Jenkins, both of Martinsburg; a grandson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael G. Jenkins; and a sister, Mary Grove.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pikeside United Methodist Church. The Rev. Daniel Montague and the Rev. Paul Stanley will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

William N. Widmeyer Jr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William N. Widmeyer Jr., 75, of Martinsburg, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born April 27, 1924, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late William N. and Gertrude Pyne Widmeyer Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Irene Moose Widmeyer.
He was a 1942 graduate of Martinsburg High School; a graduate of West Virginia University and the University of Colorado.
He was a retired pharmacist and co-owner of Patterson's Drug Store.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a medic during World War II.
He was a member for more than 50 years of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge No. 778; a volunteer with Meals on Wheels; was on the Board of the Eastern Panhandle Training Center; and a member of the Lions Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Irene Wilson of Martinsburg; three sons, Douglas Norman Widmeyer of Galveston, Texas, Jeffrey Pyne Widmeyer of Summit Point, W.Va., and William Michael Widmeyer of Martinsburg; two brothers, Robert N. Widmeyer and Douglas M. Widmeyer, both of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. James D. Riley Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Rose Marie Foltz, 68, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at her home.
Born March 29, 1931, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Jones Rickel Sr.
She was of the Baptist faith. She attended the Presbyterian Church of Martinsburg, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbur Tunney Foltz; four daughters, Linda Dillow of Frederick, Md., Gina McKinney of Falling Waters, Ruth Ann Miller of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Gail Foltz McKinney of Hedgesville; three sons, John Foltz of Martinsburg, Michael Foltz and Jeffrey Foltz, both of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Foltz Geouge of Martinsburg; a stepson, Douglas Foltz of Falling Waters; a sister, Peggy Unger of Martinsburg; five brothers, Paul Rickel of Martinsburg, Charles Rickel of Wisconsin, Raymond Rickel of Martinsburg, Donald Rickel of Martinsburg and Robert Rickel of Martinsburg; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Foltz; and two brothers, Thomas Rickel and Calvin Rickel.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, 2060 Rosedale Cemetery Road, Martinsburg. Pastor Steven Foltz will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

DARKESVILLE, W.Va. - Thelma Catherine Seal May, 75, of Darkesville, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 7, 1923, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Effie Bender Seal.
She worked as the bookkeeper for May Machine Co. for 32 years. She was the former operator of the Air National Guard cafeteria in Martinsburg. She also was employed by Ogden Foods at Corning Glass; C.H. Musselman; and Perfection Garment Co.
She was a member of Charles Town Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John W. May Sr.; six daughters, Frances Shade Shively of Stephens City, Va., Florence Birmingham and Brenda Kendrick, both of Martinsburg, Sandra May Haupt of Boonsboro, Patricia Bartles of Inwood, W.Va., and Joyce May Leonard of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; two sons, John W. May Jr. and Mark S. May, both of Inwood; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two children, Sharon Boone and Deanna Abshire; a sister, Gladys Harrell; and five brothers, Jimmy Seal, Ernest Seal, Harry Seal, Arnold Seal and Donald Seal.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Dwane Casteel will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Jones Hobday, 90, of Martinsburg, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Aug. 28, 1908, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Raleigh Thomas and Mary Ethel Coyle Jones.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Holman Hobday and her second husband, Allen B. Hobday.
She retired as a licensed practical nurse.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Pythian Sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret J. Fowler of Martinsburg and Barbara H. Byers of Greensburg, W.Va.; a brother, Robert D. Jones of Kearney, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nettie G. Roberts, Mary E. Robinson and Freda C. Ingrman; and a brother, Dudley O. Jones.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

RANSON, W.Va. - Pearl V. Carroll, 78, of Ranson, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born March 5, 1921, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Wilson and Anne Mae Grove Longerbeam.
She was employed with Middleway Woolen Mill, Middleway, W.Va.; and as a supervisor with Basch's Fruit.
She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Ranson.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Carroll Jr.; a daughter, Judy Gay Layman Hough of Charles Town, W.Va.; a son, Russell Adam Layman Jr. of Leetown, W.Va.; two sisters, Edna Mae Holler of Charles Town and Anna Marie Ranalli of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a brother, William J. Longerbeam of Charles Town; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, Ranson. The Rev. William Reed and the Rev. Leroy Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Charles Jackie Otto Jr., 37, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 2, 1961, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Charles J. and Annie Mae Wageley Otto Sr. of Hedgesville.
He was a 1978 graduate of Hedgesville High School; a graduate of James Rumsey; and a graduate of Frederick Community College.
He was a journeyman machinist for Gesac Inc., Boonsboro.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Otto of Conover, N.C.; a son, Adam Nicholas Otto at home; two sisters, Vicki Risinger Jenkins of Martinsburg and Mary Lynn Collis of Hedgesville; a niece; and a great-niece.
