MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Betty Louise Graham, 78, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at City Hospital.
Born Sept. 11, 1920, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Jane Frederick Ambrose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Graham.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Clifford E. Graham of Martinsburg and Thomas R. Graham of Winchester, Va.; three sisters, Ruth Lindsey, Donna Jean Wolford and Virginia Michael, all of Martinsburg; a brother, James Ambrose of Berkeley Springs; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Blondel and Eleanor Fellers; and six brothers, William Ambrose, Richard Ambrose, Robert Ambrose, Edward Ambrose, Fred Ambrose and Kenneth Ambrose.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Arlene Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Rosedale Funeral Chapel, Martinsburg.
Franklin D. Dunn
GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Franklin Delano Dunn, 66, of 621 Huckelberry Drive, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Dec. 27, 1932, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Edwin and Edith Painter Dunn.
He formerly was employed by B&O Railroad in Brunswick, Md.
He is survived by friends, Margaret A. Fleener, John T. Grimm and Joseph W. Fauble, with whom he lived for 30 years; a brother, William T. Dunn of Charles Town, W.Va.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Loretta Longerbeam, Bessie Ryman, Agnes Deener and Eileen Haines; and three brothers, Donald Dunn, Clyde Dunn and James Dunn Sr.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. Robin Reese will officiate. Burial will be in Virts Cemetery, Sandy Hook.
The family will receive friends today and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open Friday from 9 a.m.
William F. Logan
GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - William F. Logan, 90, of Gerrardstown, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 25, 1909, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late John M. and Ruth R. Furse Logan.
He retired from Baltimore County schools as a custodian.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, H. Josephine Graybill-Crane Logan; two daughters, Ruth Louise Kilbourn of Littleton, Colo., and B. Enola Quigley of Gerrardstown; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John M. Logan Jr.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery. The Rev. Sandra L. Lasher will officiate.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Malachi Fuller
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Malachi Fuller, 89, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at City Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Cuffie Fuller; and a stepdaughter, Dorothy Williams of Martinsburg.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Nathaniel Wright will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
Beulah M. Canary
RANSON, W.Va. - Beulah Mae Canary, 72, of Ranson, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.
Born Aug. 22, 1926, in Marshall, Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Della Downs Embery.
She was a homemaker.
She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, John M. "Johnny" Canary; a daughter, Ellen Hite of Remington, Va.; two sons, Fenton J. Woodward of Stephenson, Va., and Wesley L. Woodward of Winchester, Va.; a brother, David Embery of Warrenton, Va.; two half sisters, Mary Fletcher and Frances Williams, both of Purcellville, Va.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Embery.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harry W. Reed
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Harry William Reed, 41, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at Chesapeake (Va.) General Hospital.
Born June 7, 1957, in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of Nina May Vanorsdale Reed Widmyer of Berkeley Springs and the late Willie Marvin Reed.
He attended Hancock High School and was a 1975 graduate of Clear Spring High School.
He was a master HVAC mechanic. He worked for Ziegler Mechanical Contractors in Winchester, Va., and was service manager at Miller and Anderson Inc. in Winchester. Most recently he worked for Davis Boatworks in Wanchese, N.C.
He served in the U.S. Army. He completed the USAES heating and cooling school.
He attended Orchard Ridge Church of God in Hancock.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1483 in Berkeley Springs; and North American Hunting Club.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancee, Laura M. Williams of Berkeley Springs; a daughter, Angela Dawn Truax of Berkeley Springs; a sister, Lois Shade of Berkeley Springs; a brother, Dave Shives of Berkeley Springs; a grandson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Shives.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Jeffrey N. Hawbaker will officiate. Burial with military honors by Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Orchard Church of God Cemetery, Hancock.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from noon.
