SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Sylvia Irene Jones, 71, of Shepherdstown, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 15, 1927, in Stanley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Millard and Parthenia Cubbage Housden.
Her husband, Marshall R. "Bobby" Jones, died in 1997.
She retired after 19 years with Handy & Harman Co. in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Ranson, W.Va.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda K. Harder of Shepherdstown, and Rebecca J. Barthlow of Gadsden, Ala.; one son, Raymond E. Harrison Jr. of Martinsburg; three sisters, Charlotte Weller of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., Fosteen Loudan of Knoxville, and Frances Bishop of Boothwyn, Pa.; a brother, Rufus Housden of Shenandoah Junction; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlton Housden and Sylvester Housden.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 114 S. Fairfax Blvd., Ranson, W.Va. The Revs. William Reed and Lee Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.
Friends will be received at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, W.Va., today from 7 to 9 p.m.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Alice Fay McBee, 65, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Jan. 4, 1934, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Rosalie Monday Maconaughey.
She attended Berkeley Springs Grade School.
She was a seasonal worker at Musselman Food Products in Inwood, W.Va.; and a homemaker.
She was a member of Word of Deliverance Church in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald S. McBee; one son, Jeffrey Sterling McBee of Berkeley Springs; one daughter, Virginia Ellen Yost of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Hattie Lineweaver and Shelvy Yost of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Thomas W. Maconaughey of Berkeley Springs; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mayme Weller, Anna Stotler and Jessie Kyne; and five brothers, James Henry Ambrose, Elvey Ambrose, George Willard Maconaughey, Charles Darlington Maconaughey, and Douglas Maconaughey.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Revs. Jack and Shirley Hiles will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery in Morgan County, W.Va.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Helen Jackson Bowser, 56, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at her home.
Born Nov. 21, 1942, in Parkersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Owen Park Bowser of Miami, Fla., and the late Helen Cochran Bowser.
She attended St. Catherine's School; and Colorado State University, Boulder, Colo.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Shepherdstown.
She was a volunteer for homeless shelters; food kitchens for the homeless; animal rights groups; national institutes of mental health; and National Alliance of the Mentally Ill.
In addition to her father, she is survived by a sister, Anna Bowser Nichols of Glenville, W.Va.; a brother, Fred Meals Bowser of Arizona; nieces and nephews, including Susie Schramm of Shepherdstown; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Owen Cochran Bowser.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium, Shepherdstown.
There will be no visitation.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Emma Evelyn Bohrer, 95, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 13, 1903, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Anna Raigner Bohrer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira A. Bohrer.
She was a seasonal worker for C.H. Musselman.
She was a member of Johnsontown Bible Church; and Hedgesville Senior Citizens.
She is survived by six daughters, Naomi Fisher of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Glenna Laing, Mary Byers, Phillis Michael and Ruby Miller, all of Martinsburg, and Helen Tobin of Bunker Hill; five sons, Stanley Bohrer, Roger Bohrer, Gary Bohrer and David Bohrer, all of Martinsburg, and Edgar Bohrer of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a sister, Geneva Langfitt of Salisbury, Md.; 41 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Opal Laing Kelly; two sons, Winton Bohrer and Ernest Bohrer; a sister, Violet Noland; and five brothers, Herman Bohrer, William Bohrer, Russell Bohrer, Melvin Bohrer and Francis Bohrer.
Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. Frank Douty will officiate.

John H. Boyer
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - John H. Boyer, 90, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born June 12, 1908, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John E. and Pamela M. Dunlap Boyer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia B. Kisling Boyer, in 1991.
He was a graduate of Charles Town High School.
He owned and operated Shenandoah Heating and Air Conditioning Co., in Charles Town, from 1936 to 1976.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, and was on the board. He was a member of the church choir; and a member and former president of Builders Bible class.
He was a former member of the board of directors of Jefferson Memorial Hospital; and a member of Charles Town Chapter, SPEBSQUA chorus.
He is survived by a sister, Sarah V. Lehman, of Fahrney-Keedy Home, Boonsboro; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Boyer and William Boyer.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
