SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Milton Rice Staubs, 78, of Shenandoah Junction, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at his home.
Born April 10, 1921, in Virginia, he was the son of the late Jesse and Rosie Bell Staubs.
He retired after 38 years with the B&O Railroad. Earlier, he had been a self-employed farmer.
He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Shenandoah Junction, where he served as an usher and as a trustee. He also was a guitarist for the church.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Hilda I. Neff Staubs; two daughters, Hilda L. Bacigalupi of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Joyce R. Hardy of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Clara Snider of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Ruby Brady of Shenandoah Junction; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Staubs and Gertrude Widmeyer; and two brothers, Alfred Staubs and Sylvester Staubs.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Shenandoah Junction. The Rev. Robert Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town, W.Va.

Evelyn C. Wolfes
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Evelyn C. Wolfes, 88, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Reeder's Nursing Home, Boonsboro.
Born Dec. 12, 1910, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Russell and Frances Minnick Litten.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Wolfes.
She was a retired watch maker with Wolfes Jewelry.
She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Small of Hagerstown; a sister, Marguerite Voorhees of Miami Shores, Fla.; a brother, Wade Litten of Gibbonsville, N.C.; four half-sisters, Ruby Kimble of Lexington, Va., Nancy Rose of New York, Virginia Jacox of Salt Lake City and Mildred Biser of Burlington, W.Va.; seven half-brothers, James R. Litten, Franklin Litten and Scott Litten, all of Keyser, Henderson Litten of Rollings, Md., LeRoy Litten of Lynchburg, Va., Harold Litten of Cleveland and Curtis S. Litten of Upper Marlboro, Md.; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Litten, William Litten and Chester Litten.
Graveside services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery. Dr. Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate.

Ethel M. Blue
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Ethel Miller Blue, 80, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town.
Born Jan. 26, 1919, in Little Washington, Va., she was the daughter of the late Hazel Randolph and Fannie Byrd Young Pendleton.
She worked for New Central Restaurant in Charles Town.
She was a member of Wainwright Baptist Church, was a missionary, choir member and deaconist.
She is survived by her husband, Grafton W. Blue Sr.; two sons, Grafton W. Blue Jr. of Sacramento, Calif., and Jerry B. Blue of Lanham, Md.; two sisters, Helen Dorsey and Bessie Wood, both of Baltimore; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wainwright Baptist Church, Charles Town. The Rev. Walter Jackson will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Kevin G. Johnson
RANSON, W.Va. - Kevin Gene Johnson, 32, of Ranson, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.
Born June 29, 1967, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of Kaye Lee Thompson of Ranson and the late Gene Willard Johnson.
He was a 1985 graduate of Jefferson High School, and attended Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He was employed as a travel consultant with SATO Travel, Sterling, Va.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, John Thompson of Ranson; maternal grandmother, Esta Lee of Charles Town; a sister, Kelly Kay Johnson of Charles Town; a niece; two nephews; aunts; uncles and cousins.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 119 S. Seminary St., Charles Town. Pastor Richard E. Neal will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.

Goldie V. Gloyd
GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Goldie Virginia Gloyd, 88, of Great Cacapon, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born June 14, 1911, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Enoch and Alice Farris Thrasher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Gloyd, in 1967.
She was a homemaker.
She was a Protestant.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Crouse of Great Cacapon and Virginia Strosnider of Winchester; seven sons, Harry Gloyd, Perry Gloyd, Roy Gloyd, Albert Gloyd and Ray Gloyd, all of Great Cacapon, Harold Gloyd of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and George Gloyd of Barberton, Ohio; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren 10 great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Gloyd; a sister, Eleanor Hovermale, a brother, James Thrasher; a granddaughter, Linda Bishop and a grandson, Tommy Gloyd.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Jeff Dissmore will officiate. Burial will be in Orleans Crossroads Cemetery, Orleans, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 10 a.m.
Mary E. Devonshire
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Etta Devonshire, 79, of Martinsburg, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 22, 1920, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Elizabeth Cole Devonshire.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, and was a member of the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee, Flower Committee and Lydia Circle.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret Wright of Harrisburg, Pa.; a brother, James Devonshire of Scranton, Pa.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by 11 sisters and brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Rev. James E. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
The family will meet at her home at 12:15 p.m. Saturday before going to the church.
