CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Elizabeth M. Riddleberger, 98, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Shenandoah Health Village Center in Charles Town.
Born Nov. 3, 1900, in Richardsville, Va., she was the daughter of the late James B. and Mary E. Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Aikens; and her second husband, Benjamin H. Riddleberger.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of Leetown Farm Woman's Club.
She is survived by a brother, Staley Rodgers of Arlington, Va.; three granddaughters, Judy Furr Edwards, Cheri Moran and Jacque DeChristophero; a grandson, Norval Furr; six great-grandchildren; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy A. Furr and Mary Margaret Johnson; two sisters, Carrie Rodgers and Margaret Harold; and a brother, James Rodgers.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town. The Rev. William Everhart will officiate.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town.

Leta M. Myers
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Leta May Myers, 89, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at her home.
Born April 16, 1910, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy Clark Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Franklin Myers.
She had been employed as an LPN with City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by three daughters, Pauline V. Winland of Berkeley Springs, Mary Rebecca Luttrell of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Sarah E. Atkins of New Market, Va.; two sons, Arthur Daniel Myers of Ocoee, Tenn., and John Grove Myers of Waynesboro, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Fory of York, Pa., and Mary Webb of Norcross, Ga.; two brothers, Harold Grove of Berkeley Springs and Harry Grove of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul W. Myers; a sister, Minnie Pomeroy; and five brothers, John Grove, Jerry Grove, Charles Grove, Leslie Grove and Roy Grove.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wanda J. Turner
KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Wanda J. Turner, 53, of Kearneysville, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Dec. 18, 1945, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Johnson and Hattie Shirley Turner.
She was employed at Potomac Sportswear.
She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Middleway, W.Va.
She is survived by a daughter, Alvertia L. Stride of Kearneysville; a son, Paul E. Turner of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three sisters, Virginia Miller of Middleway, W.Va., Betty Milbourn of Bunker Hill and Ruth Myers of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; four brothers, Paul K. Turner, Marvin L. Turner and Ray R. Turner, all of Middleway, and Melvin T. Turner of Charles Town, W.Va.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary P. Long and Helen A. Barnes; and two brothers, Joseph W. Turner and Lester E. Turner.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Mary Buracker will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gilbert S. Aleman
GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Gilbert Salazar Aleman, 75, of Great Cacapon, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Great Cacapon.
Born Jan. 20, 1924, in San Antonio, he was the son of the late Flavio and Josefa Salazar Aleman.
He was a retired Merchant Seaman.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine.
He was a member of Faith in God Pentecostal Church, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He is survived by two daughters, Yolanda Aleman of Denver and Dalia Feldman of Nassau, Bahamas; three sons, Rick Aleman of Hoboken, N.J., David Aleman of Philadelphia and Gilbert Aleman Jr., of New York; one brother, David Aleman of San Antonio; one grandson, and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Velia Lazovich; and a brother, Flavio Aleman.
A memorial service and reception will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Aleman home, River Ridge Subdivision, near Great Cacapon. The Rev. Ken Dyer will officiate.

Ida V. Barrett
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ida Virginia Barrett, 83, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born March 26, 1916, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John S. and Daisy Irene Stevens James.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lee Barrett.
She was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.
She is survived by seven daughters, Theresa F. Emmerick, Evelyn L. Barrett, Gladys M. Barrett, Marjorie J. Gaynon, Mary A. Lung, Wanda N. Bohrer and Sylvia P. Butts; two sons, Ray J. Barrett and Jesse L. Barrett; three sisters, Mildred Hess, Goldie Triggs and Gladys Stevens, all of Martinsburg; one brother, Rust James, of Martinsburg; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Easterday, and three brothers, Charles James, Harvey James and Jesse James.
Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael R. Bageant will officiate. Burial will be in Needmore cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from noon to 1 p.m.

Stanley Glover
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Stanley Glover, 79, of Falling Waters, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Jan. 7, 1920, in Sommerfield, Pa., he was the son of the late Cyrus and Ida Vansycle Glover.
He retired from Mack Trucks Inc.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a Catholic.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Holsinger Glover; a son, John Patrick Glover of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; two sisters, Leosa Vance and Janet Rush; four brothers, Carmen Glover, Harold Glover, Bob Glover and Tom Glover; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, W.Va. The Rev. T. Matthew Rowgh will officiate.
