MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Douglas Loring "Buddy" Miller, 70, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born June 15, 1929, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Harland and Nanny Roberts Miller.
He was employed as a supervisor with Eastern Panhandle Training Center.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member and an elder of The House of the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Mumaw Miller; a son, Stevie Craig Miller of Martinsburg; and three grandchildren, Ryan Matthew Miller, Steven Douglas Miller and Hannah MacKenzie Miller.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Robert Caplinger will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Orville L. Plotner
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Orville L. Plotner, 79, of Hedgesville, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at his home.
Born July 7, 1920, in Hedgesville, he was the son of the late Herman Denton and Lottie Byers Plotner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Rebecca Smith Plotner.
He retired from Fairchild.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by two daughters, Lyndell Long of Hedgesville and Faye Gregory of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a son, Terry Douglas Plotner of Hedgesville; two sisters, Geraldine Laing of Hedgesville and Dolly Marie Orsini of Inwood, W.Va.; two brothers, Hayward L. Plotner and Donald P. Plotner, both of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Rhoe and Madeline Wood; and three brothers, Marshall D. Plotner, Victor W. Plotner and Herman W. Plotner.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. L. Jack Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Providence cemetery with military services by Newton D. Baker Post No. 896, VFW and Berkeley Post No. 14 American Legion.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Willard E. Mace
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Willard E. Mace, 82, of Falling Waters, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999.
He built and operated Mace Building Supply in Rising Sun, Md., from 1945 to 1988. He remained active in the alternate heating business in Smithsburg until his retirement in 1996.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He served as an assistant to Capt. Edward Steichen, Head of Naval Aviation Photography. He received a letter of commendation from Adm. Nimitz and a citation signed by the Secretary of the Navy for photographic excellence in the Pacific Theater.
He is survived by his wife, Anne T. Mace; and two sons, Charles Azain Mace of Rising Sun and William Tweed Mace of Smithsburg.
A private memorial service will be held.

Rose E. Beck
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Rose Elizabeth Beck, 63, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born June 10, 1936, in Bensalem, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Catherine Patricia Clark Gray.
She was a 1954 graduate of Germantown High School in Philadelphia. She attended Felt and Tarrantton Comptometer School in Philadelphia.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Good Brothers Food Distributors; Winn Dixie Food Distributors; Vernelson Bakery; Bond Bread Co.; and Penn Fruit Distributors, all in the Philadelphia area. She worked as the office manager of Regency Apartments in Bensalem. She last worked as an internal auditor for the state of New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring in 1991. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Berkeley Springs.
She was associated with Potomac Highlands Support Services; Senior Life Services; and worked as an administrative aide at the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, all in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Gilbert LeRoy Beck; two daughters, Antoinette M. Juno of Levittown, Pa., and Theresa A. Crossland of Ottsville, Pa.; four stepdaughters, Sharon Jean Schneider of Milford, N.J., Janice Beck and Brenda Lee Wagner, both of Quakertown, Pa., and Lisa Ubel of Upper Black Eddy, Pa.; two brothers, Harold Lee Gray of Philadelphia and John William Gray of Green Lane, Pa.; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margie J. Andress.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private.

George W. Greenwalt
ENGLE, W.Va. - George Washington Greenwalt, 82, of Engle Switch Road, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at his home.
Born Feb. 2, 1917, in Berryville, Va., he was the son of the late Charles L. Sr. and Annie Deahl Greenwalt.
He owned and operated Greenwood Farm in Engle; and repaired farm tractors and farm equipment.
He was a member of Engle United Methodist Church, and served on church committees.
He was a member of Jefferson County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Helen D. Huffman Greenwalt; one stepdaughter, Diane L. Ratcliffe of Ohio, Calif.; one sister, Madaline Williams of Winchester, Va.; one stepgrandson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

George A. Reisher
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - George Alan Reisher, 51, of Molers Crossroads, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at his home.
Born April 11, 1948, in Huntingdon, Pa., he was the son of Dolores Hess Reisher of Chambersburg, Pa. and the late George Shull Reisher.
He was a self-employed master carpenter.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Susan A. Reisher of Chambersburg; and a niece.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
