CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Jean Ellen Myers, 70, of Tuscawilla Hills, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at her home.
Born April 14, 1929, in Millville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Nellie Virginia Nicewarner Hoffman.
She was a 1947 graduate of Harpers Ferry High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1028 in Charles Town; and a former member of Tuscawilla Hills Garden Club in Charles Town.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Howard William "Bill" Myers; two daughters, Donna Jean Huffines of Nashville, Tenn., and Carol A. Campisi of Danville, Calif.; a son, Howard W. Myers Jr. of Saugus, Calif.; a sister, Bettie Lee Bond of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Mae Callahan.
A graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town.

Wesley M. Taylor
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Wesley Mills "Wess" Taylor, 76, of Romney, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at his home.
Born April 18, 1923, in Romney, he was the son of the late William M. and Autumn M. Liller Taylor.
He retired after 39 years with Potomac Edison Co. in the Romney, Hagerstown and Keyser areas. He then worked for Fruit Growers Co-Op of Hampshire County and Romney Florist.
A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. He was at the invasion of Normandy and Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of Potomac Edison Quarter Century Club; VFW Wappocoma Post 1101; and a former member of Romney Volunteer Fire Department; American Legion Hampshire Post 91; and Hampshire County Veterans Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Haines Taylor; one daughter, Dorothy Ann Dayton of Walkersville, Md.; one son, William M. Taylor of Romney; one sister, Sally Turner of Romney; one brother, Eugene Taylor of Shanks, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Taylor; five sisters and six brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Romney. The Revs. Kenneth Smith and David Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be at Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Hampshire County Little League, Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle, or the American Cancer Society.
Delores W. Lewis
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Delores Wan Lewis, 67, of Bunker Hill, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at her home.
Born July 25, 1932, in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of Malinda Christine Oldham Gray of Louisville, and the late John Edward Gray.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Charity Revival Center.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles William Lewis; two daughters, Linda Jack of Bunker Hill, and Deborah Yates of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Shelby Jean Gray Harrison, Wanda Carolyn Gray Hardy and Roxann Gray May, all of Louisville, Ky.; five brothers, Robert Eugene Gray of Georgia, Donald Ray Gray Sr., John Thomas Gray Sr., Ernest Lee Gray and Charles Raymond Gray, all of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Dale Wishon; a sister, Judy Elaine Gray; and a brother, Norwood Edmond Gray.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. Pastor Frank Marcum will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Fannie R. Gaynor
MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. - Fannie Rachel "Sally" Gaynor, 64, of Middleway, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Oct. 25, 1934, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Georgia Lee Snyder Brown.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Daniel N. Gaynor Sr.; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Hill of Ranson and Anita M. Viands of Charles Town, W.Va.; one son, Dale R. Gaynor of Kearneysville, W.Va.; two sisters, Louise Miller of Maryland and Annie Underwood of Idaho; seven brothers, Boyd Brown of Hedgesville, W.Va., Charles Franklin Brown of Tennessee, John Brown and Thomas Brown, both of Middleway; Harvey Brown, Robert Brown and Ollie Brown, all of Winchester, Va.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel N. Gaynor Jr.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Anna Mae Hoff, 78, of Charles Town, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Shenandoah Health Village Center in Charles Town.
Born March 29, 1921, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna Hill Gray.
She retired as a cook for the Jefferson County Board of Education.
She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Doris H. Caniford of Charles Town; four brothers, Charles W. Gray of Martinsburg, W.Va., Henry V. Gray of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Robert H. Gray of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Shirley Gray of Culpeper, Va.; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, Thelma Ruckman, Hilda Mason, Dorothy Woodward, Helen Clifton, Ethelene Harter and Norma Lee Gray; and one brother, Clarence Gray.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Charles Town Presbyterian Church, Charles Town. The Revs. William Everhart and Lisa Everhart will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Rufus Millard Housden, 81, of Shenandoah Junction, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born April 7, 1918, in Stanley, Va., he was the son of the late Millard S. and Parthenia Cubbage Housden.
He worked at Halltown (W.Va.) Paper Board Co. for 10 years; and had been a self-employed agricultural truck driver.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Shenandoah Junction.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elsie Hite Housden; five daughters, Violet Sarra of Middleway, Va., Diane Evans of Martinsburg, W.Va., Linda Reed of Shenandoah Junction, Kathy Kline of Ranson and Angela Banks of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; six sons, Donald Housden of Halltown, Robert Housden of Arlington, Va., Elwood Housden and Leonard Housden, both of Charles Town, W.Va., Jerry Housden of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Glenn Housden of Inwood, W.Va.; three sisters, Charlotte Weller of Shenandoah Junction, Mary Bishop of Boothwyn, Pa., and Fosteen Loudan of Knoxville; 35 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Jane Housden; four sons, Rufus M. Housden Jr., Norman Housden, Francis Housden, and Charles William Housden; one sister, Sylvia Jones; two brothers, Carlton Housden and Sylvester Housden.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Shenandoah Junction. The Rev. Robert Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery.
