KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Mark Quay Olley, 44, of Kearneysville, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born March 13, 1955, in Sunbury, Pa., he was the son of Irene Frances Herrold Olley of Shamokin, Pa., and the late Matthew Quay Olley.
He was employed by U.S. Sprint in Reston, Va.
He served in the U.S. Army with the Division of Arms Control and Disarmament.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ranson.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Dorothy Jean Weller Olley; one daughter, Emily Frances Olley, at home; and two brothers, Matthew C. Olley of Mifflinburg, Pa., and Michael G. Olley of Northumberland, Pa.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ranson. Elder Dave Badinger will officiate. Burial will be private.
There will be no visitation.

Chad E. Brock
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Chad E. Brock, 16, of Bunker Hill, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, as the result of an automobile accident.
Born Dec. 21, 1982, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Randy and Diane Brock of Bunker Hill.
He was a junior at Musselman High School and a member of Musselman Varsity Football. He received All-Cumberland Valley Athletic League and All-Potomac Valley football honors.
He was named by The Martinsburg Journal and The Herald-Mail newspapers as 1998 All-Area Team Kicker. He was a member of Musselman basketball and baseball teams.
He was employed last summer by Turner's Auto Service, Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was a member of PAT and SADD and a Student Council representative.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Jodi Rae Brock; paternal grandparents, John E. and Arlene Brock of Mannington, W.Va., and maternal grandmother, Delores Bowden of Inwood, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Virgil W. Bowden.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Inwood. The Revs. Tim Butler and Dennis E. Jackman will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.

Mary J. Miller
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Jane Miller, 77, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at City Hospital.
Born Jan. 12, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late F. Herbert Runkles and Martha Jane Raines Costello.
She was retired from General Motors.
She was a life member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Miller; two daughters, Linda Carol Markle and Barbara Ann Canby, both of Martinsburg; one son, John C. Gano, Jr. of Florida; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. William E. Merki and the Rev. Richard A. Kroll will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Gertie S. Caton
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Gertie Selenia Caton, 93, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born March 6, 1906, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Nora Alberta Palmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Caton.
She retired from C.H. Musselman Company.
She was a member of Mountainside Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Melvina Morgan of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two sons, Marvin Marcus Caton Sr. of Gerrardstown, W.Va, and Everett L. Caton of Clearbrook, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Myrtle McDonald and Ethel Caton; two sons, Robert L. Caton and Thurston L. Caton; three sisters, Frances Hutzler, Effie Unger and Anna Lee Unger; and four brothers, John Palmer, Harry Palmer, Earl Palmer and Mike Palmer.
A service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel. The Rev. Marcus Caton Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mountainside Tabernacle cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
George W. Parkinson
INWOOD, W.Va. - George William Parkinson, 61, of Inwood, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at his home.
Born Feb. 22, 1938, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Mervel W. and Ruth O. Pearrell Parkinson.
He retired from EGG in Rockville, Md.
He was active with the Panhandle Square Dancers and taught square dance classes in Berkeley County.
He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge No. 120 Loyal Order of the Moose, and a social member of Newton D. Baker Post No. 896 VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Franks Parkinson; two sons, Terry W. Parkinson of Tennessee and Robert K. Parkinson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a sister, Mary Parkinson Huff of Glengary, W.Va.; a brother, Kenneth Lee Parkinson of Martinsburg; a grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Ray Brosius will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Donald Hawkins
RANSON, W.Va. - Donald Hawkins, 84, of Orchard Hills, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 30, 1915, in Clarke County, Va., he was the son of the late John M. and Pearl Willingham Hawkins.
He was an owner and trainer of thoroughbred race horses at the Charles Town Races.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post No. 71 in Charles Town and a former member of Charles Town Division, Horsemen's Benevolence Protective Association.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ethel Holt Hawkins; three sons, John D. Hawkins of Charles Town, Donald E. Hawkins at home and Henry A. Hawkins of Winchester, Va.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline White.
A service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.
