MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jeffrey T. Logan Sr., 39, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Sept. 4, 1960 in Baltimore, he was the son of Ethel Logan of Virginia Beach, Va., and the late Melvin Johnson.
He was employed by Master's Inc. Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing.
He was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Williams Logan; four daughters, Quintonya Logan of Frederick, Md., Edreesa Logan of Virginia Beach, Chassity Williams and Crystal Williams, both of Martinsburg; three sons, Damian Logan of Baltimore, Jairus Williams and Jeffrey T. Logan Jr., both of Martinsburg; two brothers, Wesley Frooks and David Logan, both of Salisbury, Md.; and two grandsons.
Service will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. John Frattarola will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Herbert A. Stokes
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Herbert A. Stokes, 70, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Born Feb. 9, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Howard A. and Sadie Mason Stokes.
He retired from Matlack Trucking as a truck driver.
He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
He is survived by a daughter, Kim Gall of Martinsburg; two sons, Dave Stokes of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Jeff Stokes of Martinsburg; a stepdaughter, Vickie Rogers of Gerrardstown; three stepsons, Mike Rogers, Clarence Rogers and Bobby Rogers, all of Martinsburg; a brother, Carl Denver Stokes of Hagerstown; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob Allen Stokes and Howard A. Stokes Jr.
Service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Edward E. Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens with military graveside services conducted by members of Newton D. Baker Post No. 896 VFW and Berkeley Post No. 14 American Legion.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Victor F. Voodre
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Victor Francis Voodre, 80, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
He is survived by two nieces; and his caregivers, Melissa Niece, Carl Snuffer and Betty Snuffer, all of Martinsburg.
Graveside service will be Monday at Rosedale cemetery.
Arrangements are by Rosedale Funeral Home, in Martinsburg.
Deborah L. Grove
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Deborah Lee Grove, 46, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999.
Born Oct. 12, 1953, in Winchester, Va., she was the daughter of Alvin and Irma Lee McBride Luttrell of Winchester.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Erica L. Stevens Mahood of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one son, Jason Stevens of Martinsburg; one brother, Garland Allen Poland of Winchester; and three half sisters, Annette Wentz of Virginia Beach, Va., Martha Clark of Schellsburg, Pa., and Cathy Taracatac of Lexington Park, Md.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Jack Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery, Gerrardstown, W.Va.

Veronica K. Harmison
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Veronica K. Harmison, 67, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Charlottesville University Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, C. Wilson Harmison, at home; and two sisters.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Falling Waters (W.Va.) Presbyterian cemetery at Spring Mills.

Adam Page Craven
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Adam Page Craven Sr., 73, of Harpers Ferry, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at his home.
Born July 18, 1926, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late Rev. William M. and Cerelle Craven.
He attended public schools in Charles Town and Washington, D.C. He attended Storer Junior College; and later received a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in Psychology and Physical Education from Penn State University in Pennsylvania.
He began his teaching career at Page-Jackson High School in Charles Town and in Loudoun County, Va., in the 1950s. He later taught at South Hagerstown High School, where he also served as assistant football coach and head track coach. In 1968, he accepted a teaching position at Frederick County High School in Frederick, Md., where he served as head track coach, and led the Frederick High Cadets through three championship seasons as head football coach. In 1969, he was named vice principal and guidance counselor at Frederick High School.
In the mid-1970s he took a leave of absence from Frederick High School to accept an assistant coaching position at Brown University in Providence, R.I. He later returned to Walkersville High School as a school administrator and maintained his ties with the sports community by providing color commentary for the Game of the Week for WFMD Radio in Frederick. He retired from the school system in 1985 as assistant superintendent of the Frederick County Board of Education.
After his retirement, he was appointed to the position of interim Mayor of Harpers Ferry when the elected mayor resigned his position mid-term. He was elected mayor in the next election.
He served during World War II in Germany with the Special Services; at the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C., after the war; and as a seasonal park ranger at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
He was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
He was a humanitarian, serving as president and board of directors member of FOCUS (Free Our Citizens from Unhealthy Substances) and as co-director of Summer Program, sponsored by Frederick County Department of Parks and Recreation. He was a member of the local chapter of NAACP; and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Craven; a daughter, Melissa Cerelle Craven of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, Adam Craven Jr. of Blue Bell, Pa., and William Craven of Atlanta; four grandchildren; and a cousin.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 411 S. Lawrence St., Charles Town. The Rev. Victor Lawson will officiate. Burial will be in Johnstown cemetery in Johnsontown, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry.
