FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Chester John Augustowski, 71, of 1012 Ambler Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born July 12, 1928, in Peekskill, N.Y., he was the son of the late Walter and Agatha Dybas Augustowski.
He was employed as a shipping foreman for Accurate Box Co. in Patterson, N.J., retiring in 1991.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949.
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport.
He was a member of American Legion Post, and Troop 40 Boy Scouts of America, both in Metuchen, N.J.; Parkinson's Disease Association, and The Enjoy Growing Older Club in Martinsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Ehmson Augustowski, whom he married
Feb. 2, 1952; two daughters, Karen E. Monastra of Charlotte, N.C., and Lisa K. Wagner of Gaithersburg, Md.; one son, Paul A. Augustowski of Kennett Square, Pa.; one brother, Eugene F. August of Springfield, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St., Williamsport. The Revs. W. Gregory Martin and Karen Stiles will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

Gerald M. Hinckle
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Gerald M. "Jerry" Hinckle, 48, of Highland Ridge, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at his home.
Born July 30, 1951, in Hancock, he was the son of William F. Hinckle Sr. and Helen Marie Dorrier Hinckle of Hancock.
He was an auto mechanic with Hinckle Motors in Hancock.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hancock.
He was a member of Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sons, Bradley Allen Hinckle of Scottsville, Va., Harley David Hinckle and Dustin Wade Hinckle, both of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Dean Howell of Hancock; and one brother, William F. Hinckle of Hancock.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard F. Hinckle.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Resley Road, Hancock. The Rev. Timothy Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery with military honors by Tri-State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral home will be open today from noon.

Helmut H.W. Brinkmann
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Helmut Hermann Wilhelm "Pete" Brinkmann, 73, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1926, in Bochum, Germany, he was the son of the late Heinrich and Minna Ohm Brinkmann.
He attended public schools in Germany; and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Bochum.
He worked as a draftsman in construction, an engineer, and as vice president of operations with Dominion Silica in Montreal, Canada. He then worked with U.S. Silica in Berkeley Springs, retiring as assistant vice president of operations in 1991.
He was a member of AARP.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sara Hope Walker Brinkmann; four daughters, Annette Page of Moorestown, N.J., Petra Brinkmann of Harrisburg, Pa., Kathleen L. Dowrick of Hagerstown and Constance A. Dowrick of Warfordsburg, Pa.; one son, Peter M. Brinkmann of Lewisburg, Pa.; one sister, Herta Piontek of Bad Bevensen, Germany; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. William R. Burgett will officiate. Private burial will be in Germany.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from noon.

Lucius Roundfield
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - The Rev. Lucius Roundfield, 81, of Falling Waters, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Dec. 8, 1918, in Barnesville, Ga., he was the son of the late James and Rosa Moore Roundfield.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II.
He was a member of and associate pastor at Dudley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Madeline Roots Roundfield; one son, Harold Kirby of Boonsboro; two grandchildren, Charles Lucius Kirby and Earl Victor Kirby; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Dudley Baptist Church. The Rev. Patrick J. Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Stella C. Grove
LEETOWN, W.Va. - Stella Chapman Grove, 80, of Leetown, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 1, 1919, in Rippon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James W. and Viola Lloyd Chapman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton E. Grove, on Oct. 27, 1995.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Leetown United Methodist Church.
She was a former member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Lupton of Double Toll Gate, Va.; three sons, Paul E. Grove and Lawrence N. Grove, both of Leetown, and Alton Richard Grove of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one brother, Robert Chapman of Georgia; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Ann Grove; two sisters, Pearl Barron and Gladys Spinks; and one brother, James Chapman.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. The Revs. Paul Ritter and Charles Frum will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic cemetery, Middleway, Va.
