MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Bernadine Elizabeth Kurtz, 75, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Linda L. Collins.
Born Aug. 24, 1924, in Beryl, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard Ashby and Verna Mae Teets Doman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kurtz.
She attended Full Gospel Church at Four Mile Woods.
She retired from and owned B's Ceramics. She had worked at Interwoven Mills, and Four Mile Wood Grocery.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Collins of Martinsburg; a son, Douglas E. Trenum of Hedgesville, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Becky Basford of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Carl A. Trenum, and two brothers, Clifford Doman and Russell Doman.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Joseph D. Eversole will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery in Bunker Hill, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kevin L. Michael
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Kevin Lee Michael, 39, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born March 11, 1960, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Herbert Arthur and Lucille H. Noll Michael of Martinsburg.
He was a 1978 graduate of Hedgesville High School, and attended Lord Fairfax Community College. He received an apprentice electrician certificate from James Rumsey Vocational Technical Center and was taking correspondence courses in electronics from International Correspondence School.
Previously, he was employed by James Rumsey Vocational Technical Center, Eastern Panhandle Training Center and most recently O'Sullivan Corporation in Winchester.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church of Martinsburg.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Keith Arthur Michael of Martinsburg, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Claude and Louise Crone Michael and maternal grandparents Turner and Iota Hoover Noll.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. William E. Merki and the Rev. Donnie Cardwell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edward Wentzell
BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Edward "Buzzy" Wentzell, 54, of 1560 Rowles St., died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Dec. 4, 1945, in Sandy Hook, he was the son of the late Frank Elmer Wentzell and Edna Ashbaugh Wentzell Greenwalt.
He was formerly employed as a forklift operator with D&A Carpentry at Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
He is survived by a son, Michael D. Wentzell of Sandy Hook; four sisters, Alice Mills and Patricia Weaver, both of Sandy Hook, Linda Neff of Winchester, Va., and Mary Staubs of Harpers Ferry; three brothers, James Wentzell of Boonsboro, and Kenneth Wentzell and Stanley Butts, both of Sandy Hook; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Wentzell; a sister, Diane Wentzell; and a brother, Frank Wentzell.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St. in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Charles E. Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights cemetery in Brownsville, Md.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Nellie C. Zabat
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Nellie Corrales Zabat, 85, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 24, 1914, in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Melecio and Maria Cabanada Corrales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Vincent Zabat.
She was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by four daughters, Gely Fran of Cypress, Calif., Lina Lopez and Fiel Zabat, both of New York City, and Dr. Grace Santos of Martinsburg; two sons, Emmannel Zabat of Fairfield, Calif., and Deo Fran of Mission Viejo, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.
Sandra A. Creamer
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Sandra Arcele Creamer, 43, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, in Brunswick, Md.
Born Dec. 18, 1955, in Glendive, Minn., she was the daughter of Harvey and Pauline Minks of Sentinel-Butte, N.D.
She was a graduate of North Dakota School for the Deaf in Bismarck, N.D., and a 1978 graduate of Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
She worked as a program analyst for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. Previously, she worked as a computer assistant for the Internal Revenue Service in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She attended Independent Bible Church in Hedgesville, W.Va., and Wainwright Baptist Church in Charles Town.
She was an instructor at West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Romney, W.Va.
She was a member of Deaf Support Team in Washington, D.C., and served as secretary of West Virginia Association for the Deaf and was editor of the association's newsletter.
She was a volunteer for Boys and Girls Club in Charles Town, where she taught sign language.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Elissa M. Creamer at home; a son, Efren A. Creamer at home; and a brother, David G. Minks of Grand Forks, N.D.
Services will be Monday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Wainwright Baptist Church in Charles Town. The Rev. Charles Hunter and the Rev. Walter Jackson will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday at noon at the church in Charles Town.
Services also will be Thursday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beach, N.D., burial will follow in Beach City cemetery.
