MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Virginia Florence Breeden Rutherford, 92, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 19, 1907, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Cora Keyser Breeden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Rutherford.
She was a member of Otterbein Methodist Church.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary Hose Company No. 5, where she had been secretary.
She is survived by a son, Harry W. Rutherford of California; two daughters, Mary Fried and Cora Haugh, both of Baltimore; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene R. Rutehrford; two daughters, Gladys Harris and June Oliver; nine brothers, Woodrow Breeden, David Breeden, Luther Breeden, Maynard Breeden, Edward Breeden, Moulder Breeden, John Breeden, Robert Breeden and Harry Breeden; and two sisters, Cora Cave and May Shipp.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale cemetery. The Rev. Bill Merki will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, 2060 Rosedale cemetery Road in Martinsburg.
Kathleen M. Merceruio
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Kathleen Mae "Kitty" Merceruio, 72, of Falling Waters, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 31, 1927, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Etta Mae Robinson and Charles Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Norman Merceruio, on Sept. 12, 1999.
She was a 1946 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She was a housewife. She had been employed by Garner's Ladies Apparel in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Marlowe, W.Va.
She is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport. The Rev. Ray Roberson and the Rev. John E. Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open Monday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mildred Estelle "Millie" White, 53, of Patrick Henry Way, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at her home.
Born Feb. 11, 1946, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Zola B. Cole White of Charles Town and the late James Henry White.
She was a domestic worker in the Washington area.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis L. E. Bailey of Charles Town and Alice L. Willard of Washington, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Fields.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at House of Prayer Church of God No. 4 in Charles Town. Elder Paul E. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.

John J. Tyson
GANOTOWN, W.Va. - John J. Tyson, 59, of Ganotown, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Oct. 9, 1940, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John Benjamin and Martha Barrett Tyson.
He retired from Mack Trucks.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by two sons, Tony Tyson and Kyle Tyson, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Reva Tyson Grove of Hagerstown and Hilda Dunham of Glengary, W.Va.; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cleveland W. Barrett.
Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Frank Douty will officiate. Burial will be in Central Chapel cemetery.

Frank T. Talley
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Frank T. Talley, 74, of Bunker Hill, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at his home.
Born Oct. 29, 1925, in Berryville, Va., he was the son of the late John A. and Emma Lloyd Talley.
He retired from Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, where he worked in the motor pool division. He also was a night watchman for Sexton Can Co.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Viola E. Shipley Talley; a daughter, Ruth Slonaker of Inwood, W.Va.; a son, Doug Talley of Middleway, W.Va.; a brother, Kenneth Talley of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and three grandchildren, including Jeremy Talley, who lived with him.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Snyder and Hilda Brashears; and three brothers, Lloyd W. Talley, Hunter Talley and Samuel H. Talley.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Tim Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens with military graveside services conducted by members of Berkeley Post 14 American Legion, Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Amvets Post 38.

Sarah M. Morgan
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Sarah Mattie Morgan, 87, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born June 24, 1912, in Collinwood, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Yilley and Emma Todd Brewer.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Paul Morgan Sr.; a son, Samuel Paul Morgan Jr. of Stephens City, Va.; a sister, Kathline Walker of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Morgan; two sons, Richard Morgan and Boyd F. Morgan Sr.; and a brother, Howard Brewer.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., Berkeley Springs. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
