SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Floyd Kenneth Barron, 79, of Shepherdstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Oct. 11, 1920, in Kearneysville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Vadna Ruth Bowers Barron.
He was a 1939 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He owned and operated a farm in the Shepherdstown area.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon.
He was a Protestant.
He and his wife donated the land for the new Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Company. He supported 4-H organizations in Jefferson County, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife, Gay F. Fink Barron, whom he married
April 12, 1947; one daughter, Connie Washburn of Cary, N.C.; two sons, Kenneth Barron and Dennis L. Barron, both of Shepherdstown; two sisters, Lucille Smallwood of Inwood, W.Va., and Thelma Barney of Martinsburg; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Barron and Mason Barron.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Barron Hall of Shepherdstown Fire Co. The Rev. Bronson Staley will officiate. Burial will be private.
Friends will be received at the fire hall Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

John M. Dower
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - John Morley Dower, 82, of Shepherdstown, and formerly of Grindstone Island, N.Y., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 6, 1917, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Walter Harley and Nora Clark Dower.
He attended Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn.
He retired in 1979 from The Washington Post, Washington, D.C., as vice president of Communications and previously had worked in the Advertising and Publication Department. He had worked for Ladies Home Journal, Philadelphia.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Jefferson County, W.Va.; and Good Shepherd Interfaith Caregivers in Shepherdstown.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Majorie Mix Dower; five sons, David C. Dower of Columbia, Md., Jonathan W. Dower of Newton, Mass., Graham S. Dower and Roger C. Dower, both of Bethesda, Md. and Alexander M. Dower of Connecticut; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Whittle; and a brother, Walter Dower.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Church and German streets in Shepherdstown. The Rev. G.T. Schramm will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Green Hill Cottage, Terrapin Neck Road in Shepherdstown.

Audrey P. Egnor
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Audrey Pauline Egnor, 87, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born July 20, 1912, in Hallwood, Va., she was the daughter of the late Fred I. and Delta Blanche Hitchens Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl S. Egnor.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Elaine Turner of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Helen Suzanne Leonard of Purcellville, Va.; a son, Leonard Earl Egnor of Wilmington, Del.; a sister, Helen Parsons Waller of Newport News, Va., six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Mary Buchanan; and three grandchildren.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Henry Hamilton Webber, 82, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Canterbury of Shepherdstown in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
Born July 9, 1917, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Franklin Hamilton and Mary Alder Webber.
He retired from Potomac Edison Co.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris Alther Webber; a daughter, Maria L. Childers of Martinsburg; two sons, Kevin R. Webber and Martin W. Webber, both of Martinsburg; two sisters, Anna B. Sours and Mary H. O'Roke, both of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Alan Webber; a sister, Katherine Cook; and three brothers, James Webber, George Webber and Bruce Webber.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Arlene R. Carr will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends Thursday at noon at the funeral home.

Doris L. Hess
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Doris Lee Hess, 71, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born April 20, 1928, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Roland L. and Daisy Griffith Creamer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Hess.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Women of the Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Sandra K. Sebers of Rockville, Md., Shirley F. Collis of Martinsburg, Mary Lynn Shade of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Anita Hess Barrineau of Inwood, W.Va.; three sons, Wayne L. Hess, Charles J. Hess and Chester L. Hess, all of Martinsburg; a sister, Edna V. Butts of Martinsburg; a brother, Tom R. Creamer of Martinsburg; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gene David Hess; two sisters, Betty L. Hess and Anna Mae Kees; two brothers, Roland W. Creamer and Frank D. Creamer; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at Arden. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.
