HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Erna May Hayes Decker, 70, of Hedgesville, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
Born Oct. 6, 1929, in Middletown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leslie Omar and Beatrice Brown Hayes.
Previously, she was employed by Admiral Radio Corp., working with military equipment, and as an inspector for a Manhattan shirt factory.
She was a member of Michael's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Decker; a daughter, Sharon Sue Forman of Forestville, Md.; a son, Kevin Wayne Decker of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Cleta Schneider of Lake Guymar, N.Y., Betty Schmidt of Holmes, N.Y., and Arlene Anglemyer of Middletown, N.Y.; a brother, Kenneth Hayes of Middletown; grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Hayes.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St. in Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Wayne Frum will officiate. Burial will be in Mahne's Church cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

George E. Mills
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - George Edward "Eddie" Mills, 72, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1927, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Florence Mason Brown and the stepson of Don Brown of Snowshoe, Pa.
He retired from Berkeley Upholstery Co.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Martinsburg, the choir, Golden Age Class, and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lee Murray Mills; a daughter, Elizabeth Kay Shifflett of Martinsburg; a sister, Evelyn Barr of Hagerstown; a brother, Leroy Fletcher of Martinsburg; a granddaughter; a grandson; a step-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an aunt and an uncle, Joe and Ollie Mills, who raised him.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Malcolm L. Cadd will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg; visitation also will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Mary V. Hough
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Mary Virginia Hough, 95, of 375 S. Cliff St., died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Shenandoah Health Village in Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Sept. 3, 1904, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late William F. and Sophia Knippenberg Andes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd S. Hough.
She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry, had been the organist; and belonged to Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a member of Harpers Ferry Womens Club; and House and Garden Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Robertson of Punta Gorda, Fla. and Shirley H. Caniford of Harpers Ferry; a son, Lloyd W. Hough of Harpers Ferry; a brother, Eugene P. Andes of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phoebe Ann Shaffer; a son, Eugene S. Hough; and a brother, William H. Andes.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Jane Kempster will officiate. Burial will be in Harper cemetery in Harpers Ferry.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry.

Arvella V. Butcher
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Arvella Virginia Butcher, 74, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born Feb. 8, 1925, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Nathan Y. and Elma Kerns Shirley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Butcher Sr.
She retired from Corning Glass. She was formerly employed by Interwoven Mills.
She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and Golden Rule Sunday School Class 21.
She was a member of AARP; EGO at City Hospital, Martinsburg; and Corning Retirees.
She is survived by two sons, George Paul Butcher Jr. and Rodger E. Butcher, both of Martinsburg; two sisters, Dolly V. Cole of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Martha M. Pitzer of Clearbrook, Va.; two brothers, Kenneth D. Shirley of Bunker Hill, W.Va. and Harrison W. Shirley of Winchester, Va.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Carrie B. Faircloth, Dorothy P. McNamee and Mary E. McKee; and a brother, David E. Shirley.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Arlene R. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

L. Mae Herrell
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - L. Mae Herrell, 98, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 8, 1901, in Rest, Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther C. and Frances H. Tevalt Snapp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Herrell.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances Fansler and Dolores Irving, both of Martinsburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Retha Grimes and Geraldine Wright; a son, Vincent Herrell; and five brothers, Joseph Snapp, Clarence Snapp, Maurice Snapp, Holmes Snapp and Loring Snapp.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Dr. G. Edward Grove will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Theresa G. Queen
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Theresa Gladden Queen, 46, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born March 20, 1953, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of Veronica Helpert Gladden of Inwood, W.Va., and the late William B. Gladden.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela McDonald of Martinsburg; a son, David Queen II of Martinsburg; three sisters, Sandra Hopwood of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Cindy O'Connor of Winchester, Va. and Diane Bohrer of Gerrardstown; seven brothers, Cecil Gladden of Uniontown, Pa., Bill Gladden Jr., Paul Gladden and Timmy Gladden, all of Inwood, Matthew Gladden of Norfolk, Va., Steve Gladden of Williamsburg, Va., and David Gladden of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Gladden.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, 2060 Rosedale Road in Martinsburg. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
