BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Walter Garland "Pete" Davis Sr., 61, of Bunker Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at his home.
Born April 23, 1938, in Hanging Rock, W.Va., he was the son of the late Solomon P. and Iva May Phares Davis.
He was a carpenter with Union Local 2033.
He was a member of Mountain View Church of the Brethren in Inwood, W.Va.
He was a member of National Rifle Association; and AARP.
He was a former Weblos Leader with Pack 49.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Fay Kitts, whom he married
Aug. 9, 1958; two sons, Walter G. Davis Jr. and Joseph B. Davis, both of Bunker Hill; siblings, Donal Davis Wright of Brucetown, Va., Mary Davis Stotler Alabaugh of Whitacre, Va., Jessie Davis Stickley of Cumberland, Md., Virginia Davis Hubbard of Winchester, Va., May Davis Kerns of Bunker Hill, Parsie J. Davis of Alabama, William A. Davis and Junior E. Davis, both of Bunker Hill; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jack Julcher will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst St., Winchester, Va.
Jonathan D. Miller
GILBERT, Ariz. - Jonathan Dale Miller, 10, of Gilbert, and formerly of Hedgesville, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at his home.
Born in Bremerton, Wash., he was the son of Gilbert Dale Miller Jr. and Jeanine Gronroos.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Bill Gronroos; two sisters, Lauren and Catherine; two stepbrothers, Matthew and Cody; paternal grandparents, Dale and Elaine Miller of Hedgesville; maternal grandmother, Joanne Johnson of Mesa, Ariz., Jerry and Doreen Miller of Bremerton and Sharon and George Handgis; and great-grandparents, Catherine Travaglia, and Charlie and Catherine Love.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Les Johnson; and great-grandparents, Cecil and Ruth Miller, and Marvin and Vada Hite.
Services were held Monday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial was in Queen of Heaven cemetery in Mesa.
The viewing was held Sunday, Feb. 6, at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper in Gilbert.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hedgesville United Methodist Church, 201 S. Mary St. in Hedgesville.

Vallie V. Postelle
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Vallie Virginia "Aunt Bi" Postelle, 85, of Berkeley Springs, and formerly of Paw Paw, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.
Born in Woodrow, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin and Edith May Kave Alderton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Postelle.
She was a 1932 graduate of Paw Paw High School.
She was a homemaker. She worked as a clerk in Panama during the 1940s.
She was a member of Enon Primitive Baptist Church, Largent, W.Va.
She was a member of Berkeley Chapter 77 Order of the Eastern Star, Berkeley Springs. She was a community volunteer.
She is survived by two nieces, Iva Lou Breeden and Phyllis M. Breeden, both of Berkeley Springs; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Grant Postelle; a sister, Wanda Alderton; and a brother, Thomas B. Alderton Jr.
At her request, private burial will be in Woodrow Union cemetery, Paw Paw.
Arrangements are by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.
Frances V. Hobday
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Frances V. Hobday, 91, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital.
Born April 16, 1908, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel L. Crouse Bohrer.
She was employed in various occupations in Morgan County.
She is survived by a daughter with whom she resided, Mary Ellen Goodman of Berkeley Springs; a son, John Mark Hobday of Morgantown, W.Va.; a sister, Nancy Bowman of St. George, Utah; a brother, Paul Bohrer of Colonial Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty L. Hobday; a son, Donald L. Hobday; three sisters, Beulah Bohrer, Katherine Bohrer and Margaret Gentry; seven brothers, Harry Bohrer, Herbert Bohrer, James Bohrer, Fred Bohrer, Philip Bohrer, LeeRoy Bohrer and Hugh Bohrer.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Burial will be in Union Chapel, Berkeley Springs.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donald L. Dodson
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Donald L. Dodson, 64, of Charleston, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in Charleston.
Born Aug. 9, 1935, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles G. and Bessie Hardy Dodson.
He was preceded in death by is wife, Blondie Morris Dodson.
He was a construction worker for Jack R. Dodson and Sons, Inc. in Loudoun County, Va.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by two sons, Harry John Dodson, serving in the U.S. Army, and Rick Lee Dodson of Charleston; a sister, Pearl Hammond of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Charles M. Dodson of Martinsburg, W.Va., Jack R. Dodson of Charles Town, W.Va., and Roy Lee Dodson of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Gunderman; two brothers, Major Clyde Dodson and Buster Dodson; and an infant daughter.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Masonic cemetery, Middleway, W.Va. The Rev. Jimmy Williams will officiate.

Delorise A. Faircloth
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Delorise A. "Dee" Faircloth, 62, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born April 4, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Georgia Thompson Grove.
She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
She was a member of Ladies of the Eagles; Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion; and V.F.W.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty D. Faircloth of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a son, John Grove of Richmond, Va.; a half-brother, Charlie Zepp of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. John S. Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
