HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Gene Larry Tribby, 64, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at his home.
Born April 16, 1935, in Knoxville, Md., he was the son of the late Levin West Tribby and Loretta Deener Tribby Merriman.
He was employed as a central control operator by Essroc Materials in Buckeystown, Md.
He was a member of Bolivar International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Harpers Ferry.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi James Tribby; two daughters, Judy Pine of Glengary, W.Va., and Kathy Polk of Harpers Ferry; a son, Steven Tribby of Charles Town, W.Va.; three sisters, Connie Cole of Sandy Hook, Sharon Wentzell of Brunswick, Md., and Shirley Darr of Knoxville; a brother, Jeff Tribby of Brunswick; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Tribby; a sister, Linda Penny; two brothers, Dale Tribby and Wayne Tribby; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bolivar International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Harpers Ferry. The Revs. B.G. Turner and Frank James will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery in Bolivar.
The family will receive friends today and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St. in Harpers Ferry. The funeral home will be open Friday from 9 a.m.

Robert M. Gainer
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Robert Merrill Gainer, 87, of Shepherdstown, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Jan. 27, 1913, in Latonia, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lee and Ola Gainer.
He was a 1940 graduate of Shepherd College.
He was a member of New Street United Methodist Church.
He coached for 31 years at Big Creek High School in War, W.Va., and Poca High School, Elkview High School, Bluefield High School and Patrick Henry High School, all in Roanoke, Va. He retired from teaching and coaching in 1978.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was inducted into the National High School Athletes Hall of Fame in 1979; West Virginia Sports Writers Hall of Fame in 1986; and Shepherd College Hall of Fame in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Mae Akers Gainer; two sons, Richard Lee Gainer of Shepherdstown and Joseph Merrill Gainer of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a sister, Judy Rhoades of Charleston, W.Va.; five brothers, Harold Gainer of Boonsboro, Lynn Gainer of Elkins, W.Va., Fred Gainer of Laurel, Del., and Ronald Gainer and James Gainer, both of Elyria, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Hardman; and two brothers, Eldred Gainer and Scott Gainer.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. The Rev. James Embrey will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Linda K. Trovinger
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Linda K. Trovinger, 41, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Fairfield, Calif.
Born Jan. 22, 1959, she was the daughter of Madeline C. Thacker of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and William Trovinger of Fairfield.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three children, Tommy McPike, David McPike and Fabrinia Rojas, all of Fairfield; a half sister, Terri Lynn Wigfield of Hagerstown; and a half brother, Dean Trovinger of Hagerstown; three aunts; and an uncle.
A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 28, in Fairfield.

Edith A. Jones
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Edith Alberta Shirley Jones, 79, formerly of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in Parrish, Fla.
Born July 11, 1920, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Russell and Anna Mazie Canby Shirley.
She worked at Peoples Drug Store and Perfection Garment Co. She retired from Corning Glass Works in 1978.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church,
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 738; VFW Chapter 896; Retirees Club of Corning, and American Flint Glass.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann Hoover of Winchester, Va., and Louise Kline of Parrish; two sons, Charles Elwood Jones of Middleway, W.Va., and Gary Dennis Jones of Martinsburg; a sister, Naomi Barrow of Charles Town, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurman Lee Shirley and Harry Lester Shirley.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Robert S. Hill Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. by Women of the Moose.

Wayne T. Crim
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Wayne T. Crim, 35, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 7, 1964, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Kenneth W. and Donna J. Crabtree Crim of Martinsburg.
He was a 1984 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He was a member of Fellowship Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Dorothy I. Dolly of Cumberland, Md.; a sister, Candice Jean Crim of Martinsburg; a brother, Terrance W. Crim of Martinsburg; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel S. Crim.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. John J. Mowen will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Leon P. Everhart
INWOOD, W.Va. - Leon P. Everhart, 91, of Inwood, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at his son's home in Inwood.
Born April 24, 1908, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Albert M. and Caroline Kluge Everhart.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertie C. Stuckey Everhart, and his second wife, Mable Virginia Smith Everhart.
He worked at Dunn Woolen Mills and retired from E.I. DuPont. After retirement, he became a minister and was assistant pastor of Warrick Assembly of God Church in Newport News, Va. He was also a charter member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, Martinsburg, W.Va.
He is survived by a daughter, Phyllis J. Cheshier of Fort Smith, Ark.; four sons, Francis D. Everhart of Washington, D.C., Leon P. Everhart Jr. of McGregor, Minn., Donald R. Everhart of Inwood, and Dr. A. Glenn Everhart of Wall Township, N.J.; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Langstown of Smithfield, Va.; a sister, Evelyn Moran of Towson, Md.; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara C. Swain; a son, Stephen W. Everhart; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God Church, Tavern Road, Martinsburg. The Revs. James Cheshier and Arnold Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church.
