HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Darrell G. Harris, 68, of Hedgesville, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at his home.
Born June 18, 1931, in Clio, W.Va., he was the son of Offie G. Harris of Newton Falls, Ohio, and the late Thelma Woolard Harris.
He had been a maintenance painter at General Motors for 32 years. Earlier, he was employed by North American Rockwell for 19 years.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Hedgesville Baptist Church.
He was a member of Berkeley Lodge 37 AF & AM; and Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Dept.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie Crowder Harris; three daughters, Debra S. Fazio of Martinsburg, Diane G. Jones of Jones Springs, W.Va. and Beverly A. Stickel of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a sister, Helen Shirey of Newton Falls, Ohio; a brother, Charles Harris of Ravenna, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. Harris.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, with military services by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Virginia O. Edwards
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Virginia Osborne Edwards, 87, of Leetown Pike, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Canterbury of Shepherdstown in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
Born Oct. 29, 1912, in Clarke County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Harvey Washington and Julia Ballenger Deck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin Edwards, in 1972.
She retired as a seamstress from Perfection Garment Co. in Charles Town and Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty E. Demory, Dorothy L. Gardner and Alice Ann Glendening, all of Charles Town; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Deck and Julia Etta Deck; and two brothers, Nelson Deck and Roy Deck.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town. The Revs. Harold Jones, James Chambly and Paul Ritter will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery in Berryville, Va.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.

Craig A. Staubs
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Craig Allen Staubs, 40, of Willow Springs Farm Apartments, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 31, 1959, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of Gladys L. Mosley Iden of Charles Town and the stepson of Daniel M. Staubs Sr. of Ranson, W.Va.
He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.
He had been employed in the food service industry.
He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Benjamin Craig Staubs of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; one stepbrother, Timothy D. Staubs of Ranson; and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Daniel M. Staubs Jr., in 1994.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town.
Friends will be received Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Howard G. Severs
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Howard Gilbert "Buddy" Severs, 77, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, March 6, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 29, 1922, in Bunker Hill, W.Va., he was the son of the late George Ray and Tamsen Mae Henry Severs.
He was a 1941 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He retired in 1985 from Baso Construction Co. as a construction plumber.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II.
He was a member of South End Neighborhood Watch; Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 120, and NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Georgeann Tafarella Severs; two daughters, JoAnn Mumma of Schellsburg, Pa., and Taffy Severs Horner of Martinsburg; a sister, Kathryn Reynolds of Newport Richey, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a stepgrandson.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert S. Hill will officiate.

GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Paul Theodore Spriggs, 65, of Great Cacapon, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Jan. 24, 1935, in Great Cacapon, he was the son of the late Beverly Theodore and Jarahnia Magdalene Hivick Spriggs.
He attended Great Cacapon Elementary School.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Great Cacapon.
He was a member of Great Cacapon Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by a sister, Rose Z. Merica of Great Cacapon; a brother, Raymond V. Spriggs; two nieces, Delilah K. Merica and Jill Lynne Spriggs; one nephew, Vincent Spriggs; one great-nephew; and cousins.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Steven R. Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Nebo cemetery in Great Cacapon.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 11 a.m.
