MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Vernon W. Green, 67, of Martinsburg, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 8, 1932, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Abraham and Florence Mabel Harrison Green.
He was a graduate of Ramer High School.
He retired from Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he had worked as a nursing assistant for 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sisters, Lucille Green and Helen Walker, both of Martinsburg; a foster brother, Clarence Creamer of Martinsburg; a close friend, Chauncine Turner; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Bishop.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church. The Rev. Alfred E. Statesman will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.

The family will meet Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at his home before going to the church.
Lucille B. Dennis
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lucille B. Dennis, 91, of Martinsburg, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born April 4, 1908, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Herman Daniel and Ellen Unger Barner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frost Dennis.
She was a 1928 graduate of Towson State College.
She was an elementary school teacher at Antietam School in Hagerstown from 1928 to 1938.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
She was a former member of Gateway Garden Club and Towson State College Alumni Association.
She is survived by a niece, Jane M. Mills; and three nephews, Charles E. Dennis III, Richard Dennis and Christian Peterson.
A memorial graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale cemetery. The Rev. Jack T. Sutor Jr. will officiate.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
Frances B. Drew
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Frances Bevans Drew, 80, of Falling Waters and formerly of Damascus, Md., died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1919, in Frostburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Anderson Bevans.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Damascus.
She is survived by a son, David Wayne Drew of Falling Waters; a half brother, Edward Bevans of Frostburg; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Edgar W. Drew and Wilma J. Grogan.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Olin L. Molesworth P.A. Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road in Damascus. The Rev. Kenneth Fell, her pastor, will officiate.
Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Frostburg Memorial Park in Frostburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Doris L. Disney, 78, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born May 20, 1921, in Whitestone, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ira Joseph and Blanche Tolley Toleman.
She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Martinsburg.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy W. Disney; two daughters, Marjorie E. Ivany and Patricia A. Creel Price, both of Martinsburg; a son, Charles W. Disney of Hilo, Hawaii; four sisters, Shirley M. Disney of Whitestone, Va., Ida J. Pupjak of Laurel, Md., Lisbeth DuPont of Hollywood, Fla., and Nita J. Beeson of Rockville, Md.; a brother, I.J. Toleman Jr. of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Tom Boggess will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery.

BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Essie Florentine Goens, 85, of Bolivar, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Hillcrest Manor Home in Kearneysville, W.Va.
Born May 25, 1914, in Halltown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Bessie Myers Goens.
She was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School and Storer College, both in Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
She retired as a licensed practical nurse from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
She was a member of the Storer College Alumni Association.
She was a member of Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry, and a former member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry.
She is survived by one niece, Madeline C. Fox of Harpers Ferry; and one grandniece.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Fox and Isabelle Goens; and two brothers, Lewis Goens and Shannon Goens.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church, 601 Washington St., Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery in Martinsburg.
Friends will be received at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, W.Va., today from 7 to 9 p.m.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Bruce Calvin Brenner, 94, of Martinsburg, who died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, was manager of Peoples Drug Stores, at South Queen and Burke streets, retiring in 1970.
Elisha C. Wells
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Elisha Cooper Wells, 61, of Bunker Hill, died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1938, in Colds Grove, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jimmy Nabors and Stella Cooper Wells.
He was a self-employed paving contractor.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Stanley Wells; two daughters, Bonnie Harrison of Baltimore and Carrie Stanley of Inwood, W.Va.; three sons, Joe Wells and Jimmy Wells, both of Allentown, Pa. and Ricky Wells of Wilkes Barre, Pa.; a sister, Julia Broadway of Pittsburgh; a brother, Asia Broadway of Frederick, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Evangelist Shane Stanley will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery in Frederick.
