MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. - Paul William Dawson, 81, of Middleway, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Heartland of Martinsburg in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Oct. 22, 1918, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Roy and Viola Underwood Dawson.
He was a carpenter for more than 25 years at J. Russell Fritts Co. in Charles Town, W.Va.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel M. Dunlap Dawson; two daughters, Carolyn Viands of Rock Hill, S.C. and Paula Burch of Summit Point, W.Va.; two sons, Eugene M. Dawson of Charles Town and David Wayne Dawson, of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces, and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Wayne Dawson and David P. Dawson.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. Pastor John Frattarola will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Florence C. Witkowski
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Florence C. Witkowski, 84, of Martinsburg, and formerly of Baltimore, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 25, 1916, in Murray Hill, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence Chmielenska Boncek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sigmund Joseph Witkowski.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church of Parkville, Md.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Tamara of Martinsburg; a sister, Eugenia Monroe of Baltimore; four grandchildren, John Tamara, Sandra Tamara, Aura Tamara and Peter Tamara; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Sophie Witkowski, Helen Boncek, Mary DeRoxtro and Nellie Boncek.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Matthew T. Rowgh will officiate.
Private burial will be in Moreland Memorial Park cemetery in Baltimore.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Becton, 61, of Martinsburg, died Monday, March 27, 2000, at her home.
Born Aug. 17, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Martha Miller Gibbs.
She was a member of United House of Prayer for all People in Washington, D.C.
She is survived by her husband, Curlie Becton; a daughter, Stephanie Becton of Beacon, N.Y.; six sisters, Elizabeth Young of Gastonia, N.C., Albertine Curry of Cincinnati, Clara Gibbs, Grace Griffin and Sylvia Gibbs, all of Bronx, N.Y. and Viola Brooks of Baltimore; five brothers, Jerry Gibbs and John Gibbs, both of Cincinnati, and Charles Gibbs, Jim Gibbs and Mark Gibbs, all of Baltimore; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Jamison.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at United House of Prayer for all People, 1721 1/2 7th St., NW, Washington, D.C. Apos. Ricardo Price will officiate. Burial will be in Washington National cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Patricia L. Fiske
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Patricia Lee Fiske, 59, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born July 10, 1940, in Antlers, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Hugo Harry Gary and Dorothy Mills Woodward.
She worked as a waitress.
She is survived by her husband, Carl G. Fiske; two daughters, Estalla Lee Welch of Hyattsville, Md. and Ivy Joann Westover of Augusta, W.Va.; two sons, Charles Fiske of Virginia Beach, Va. and Michael Wayne Fiske of Berkeley Springs; a sister, Shirley Shoemaker of Olney, Md.; two brothers, William Mills of California and Leon Woodward of Berkeley Springs; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Freeda Kay Jacobs; and a son, Herman E. Jacobs.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St. in Berkeley Springs. Robert Summers will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jasper "Frank" Link, 67, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at City Hospital.
Born June 12, 1932, in Hampshire County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Leo Lee and Elizabeth Ludwick Link.
He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Kidwell of Berryville, Va. and Jeanne Donivan of Martinsburg; one son, Hank Link of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one sister, Myrtle Pace of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Ira Link and Junior Link, both of Winchester, Va.; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Link, Cecil Link and Ray Link; and one sister, Lola Bott.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Rio cemetery in Rio, W.Va.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
Pauline M. Caton
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Pauline Mae Stanley Caton, 82, of Martinsburg, died Monday, March 27, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born July 20, 1917, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Archelus Harley and Della Kerns Stanley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Caton.
She attended First Church of God.
She was a member of Dodson Duckpin Bowling League.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Caton Davis and Janet Caton Conner, both of Martinsburg; two sons, Larry Caton of Martinsburg and Ronald Caton of Inwood, W.Va.; a sister, Virginia Beard of Martinsburg; a brother, Daniel Stanley of Baker Heights, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Payne, Margaret Keller and Katherine Siford; and four brothers, Edward Stanley, John Stanley, Paul Stanley and Harley Stanley.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Ed. Reckner will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
