RANSON, W.Va. - George William Fields Jr., 55, of Ranson, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.
Born Nov. 12, 1944, in Loudoun County, Va., he was the son of Virginia Mae White Fields of Purcellville, Va., and the late George William Fields Sr.
He was a 1963 graduate of Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, Va.
He had been employed by the Loudoun County school board since 1963.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He was a member of VFW Memorial Post 3522, Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, all in Charles Town.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Sonja L. Fields of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; three sons, William E. Fields of Charles Town, Joseph E. Fields of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Steven L. Fields of Ranson; one brother, Thomas E. Fields of Leesburg; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Lovettsville Union cemetery, Lovettsville, Va. The Rev. William Everhart will officiate.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd. in Charles Town.
Jesse W. Mauck
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jesse Willard Mauck, 81, of Martinsburg, died Friday, June 9, 2000 at Silver Age Services in Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 29, 1918, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Carrie Mitchell Mauck.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith M. McGraw Mauck.
He was a retired gardener.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. Mauck of Martinsburg and Jess W. Mauck Jr., at home; three sisters, Gladys Wilt of Frederick, Md., Agnes Painter of Martinsburg and Jeannine Greenwalt of Virginia; a grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Gantt and an infant sister; and six brothers, James J. Mauck, Robert L. Mauck, Samuel J. Mauck, Archie W. Mauck, Ted Mauck and Kenneth Mauck.
Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Andrew T. Gilbride
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Andrew Thomas Gilbride, 53, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000 at his home.
Born Jan. 3, 1947, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Andrew and Gilbride Rose Markey Gilbride.
He was an electrician.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Services and burial in Culpeper National cemetery are private.
Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.
Mildred Parsons
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mildred Parsons, 80, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at City Hospital.
Born Aug. 21, 1919, in McDowell County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Lee Lewis.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Martinsburg.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, C.P. Parsons; and one sister, Grace Lewis of Nitro, W.Va.
She donated her body to health sciences.
Cecelia H. Bayles
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Cecelia Hallie Milton Bayles, 45, of Charles Town, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town.
Born Sept. 12, 1954, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Hallie May Milton.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town.
She was a special education aide at Jefferson High School.
She was a volunteer for the FOCUS group in Jefferson County.
She was a member of Carolyn Andrews Memorial Bell Choir at Asbury United Methodist Church, and a former member of Charles Town Junior High Music Boosters.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy W. Bayles of Bolivar, W.Va.; three sons, Brent A. Burdette of Charles Town, and Timothy W. Bayles Jr. and Marc S. Bayles, both of Bolivar; and two half-sisters, Mary C. Proper of Berkeley County, W.Va., and Susie Etta Kees of Williamson, Pa.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town. The Rev. Dee Ann Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.
The family will receive friends at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson, W.Va., today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Roger L. Bowers Jr.
GLENGARY, W.Va. - Roger L. Bowers Jr., 27, of Glengary, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Born Aug. 19, 1972, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Roger L. Sr. and Stella Ashby Bowers of Inwood, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lorrie Parsons Bowers; one daughter, Emily Wriston of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one son, Mason Wriston of Hedgesville; one sister, Darlene Dillow of Inwood; one half-sister, Rebecca Catlett of Hedgesville; and two half-brothers, Elvin Sims and Donald Sims, both of Martinsburg.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister, April Miller.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Dottie Dunham will officiate. Burial will be in Central Chapel cemetery in Ganotown, W.Va.
