Brian S. DeHaven

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Brian Scott DeHaven, 33, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at City Hospital.

Born Nov. 22, 1966, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of David C. and Mary Ann DeHaven of Inwood, W.Va. and Carolyn B. Faircloth Saville and Vincent Saville Jr. of Hedgesville, W.Va.

He was a 1984 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He was employed with D&C Guttering.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a close friend, Pamela Barnes of Martinsburg; a sister, Kim DeHaven Lamp of Martinsburg; a stepbrother, Pete Saville of Martinsburg; three stepsisters, Amy Wilk of Hagerstown, Nicole Saville of Winchester, Va., and Jackie Saville of Romney, W.Va.; a niece; and two grandmothers, Thelma F. DeHaven and Eleanor Faircloth, both of Martinsburg.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Charles M. Bennett

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles Murten Bennett, 88, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at City Hospital.

Born Feb. 19, 1912, in Warren County, Va., he was the son of the late Charles W. and Bertha May Furley Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Billmyer Bennett.

He was retired from C.H. Musselman.

He was a member of Mt. View Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by a daughter, D. Rosa Lee Willis of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons, Charles A. Bennett Sr. of Stephens City, Va., and Robert L. Bennett of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Olive May Walker and two brothers, Paul Bennett and Berkeley Bennett.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mt. View Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Carl Burleson will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mt. View Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 655, Bunker Hill, WV 25413.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Camilla I. Willingham

RANSON, W.Va. - Camilla Inez "Millie" Costello Willingham, 83, of Ranson, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Dec. 13, 1916, in Kabletown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Manilla Costello Welch.

Her husband of 34 years, Arnold Eugene Willingham, died July 17, 1973.

She retired as a domestic worker for the late Dr. and Mrs. Jerry White. She previously had been employed as a cook for Jeffersonian Manor Nursing Home, Charles Town, W.Va. and worked at Ranson Products.

She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by four daughters, Lois Jenkins of Ranson, Ruth Kranenberg of Kearneysville, W.Va., Janet Lilly of Woodbridge, Va., and Linda Baziluik of Burke, Va.; three sons, Larry G. Willingham, at home, Eugene Willingham of Great Falls, Mont., and Roy Steven Willingham Sr. of Ranson; a brother, Charles Welch of Brunswick, Md.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Russell and Gloria Harris; two stepsisters, Thelma Gray and Christine Gray; two brothers, Spencer Welch and Bernie P. Welch Jr.; two stepbrothers, James Welch and Alonzo Welch.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Earl D. McCullough

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Earl D. McCullough, 66, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in City Hospital.

Born Jan. 16, 1934, in Ninety Six, S.C., he was the son of the late Ernest and Lila Howard McCullough.

He retired from McCrory's, Berkeley Plaza Shopping Center, as retail manager.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Francis McCullough; a daughter, Susan McCullough of Martinsburg; three sons, Michael McCullough of Enola, Pa., Timothy McCullough of Martinsburg and Samuel McCullough of Fairfax, Va.; two sisters, Arlene Watson of Pelion, S.C., and Virginia Harris of Ninety Six; and five grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Garnett R. Bentz

RANSON, W.Va. - Garnett Randolph "Bucky" Bentz, 59, of Ranson, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at his home.

Born July 18, 1940, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Garnett R. and Louise Virginia Shull Bentz.

His wife, Patricia Anna Corder Bentz, died Jan. 22, 1973.

He retired from Charles Town Races in Charles Town, W.Va., and Bashes Fruit Co., in Ranson.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa B. Medina of Ranson; two sisters, Joan Slusher of Charles Town and Shirley Stickles of St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother, William Bentz of Scottsville, Va.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd. Charles Town. Pastor Richard E. Neal will officiate. Burial will be private.

Friends will be received Wednesday at the funeral home at 1 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Ranson Elementary School, Attention: Debra Corbett, 600 N. Preston St., Ranson, WV 25438.

Harold O. Markley Jr.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Harold Otis Markley Jr., 48, of Hedgesville, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born June 28, 1951, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Frances Smith Markley of Martinsburg, W.Va., and the late Harold Otis Markley Sr.

He was a 1969 graduate of Hedgesville High School.

He was employed by Capitol Cement.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the 82nd Airborne Division.

He was a member of the 157th West Virginia National Guard, Berkeley Post 14 American Legion, National Rifle Association and AFL-CIO Local Union D208.

He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Markley of Martinsburg; two sons, Matthew Markley and Adam Markley, both of Martinsburg; two sisters, Mary Frances Daniels of Martinsburg and Barbara Noll of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two brothers, Roger Markley and Terry Markley, both of Hedgesville; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens with military services by the Veterans Combined Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 2015 Boyd Orchard Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
