STEVEN L. FOX
NEW CREEK, W.Va. - Steven Lee Fox, 18, of Cut-Off Road, New Creek, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Jan. 27, 1979, in Winchester, Va., he was a son of Ronald A. Fox, Winchester, Va., and Deborah Sue (Metcalfe) Kuhn, of New Creek. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Russell Metcalfe, formerly of Piedmont.
Steven was a member of the Class of 1996 at Keyser High School and was employed as a mechanic with CCI Inc. He was a member of the Westernport Church of the Brethren and was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his stepfather, Stephen B. Kuhn, New Creek; his stepmother, Kimberly D. Fox, Winchester, Va.; two brothers, Ron A. Fox, Fort Campbell, Ken., and David P. Fox, at home; one stepbrother, Justin R. Bayliss, Winchester, Va.; one stepsister, Ashley L. Kuhn, at home; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Metcalfe, Piedmont; and paternal grandparents, Edgar A. and Audrey G. Fox, Westernport, Md.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Westernport Church of the Brethren on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ervin Huston officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

SARAH L. HOMAN
NEW CREEK, W.Va. - Sarah L. Homan, 87, of HC 75, Box 34, New Creek, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born May 30, 1910, at New Creek, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Bertha (Carskadon) Leatherman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Crowder I. "Pete" Homan, on May 19, 1983; and two brothers, one as an infant, and John A. Leatherman.
Mrs. Homan taught school at various one-room schools in the Burlington, area. She was a member of the Burlington United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; and the Church Choir. She also was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Mill Creek; the Country Lanes Extension Homemakers; and the former Soroptimists of Keyser. Mrs. Homan also served as a director for the Burlington Family Services Auxiliary and was actively involved in the historical restoration of the Van Myra Campground.
Surviving are two sons, Paul H. Homan Sr. and wife Carolyn, New Creek, and Charles I. "Skip" Homan and wife Nancy, Beaver, Pa.; two daughters, Mary Lou Podelco and husband George, Onancock, Va., and Susie C. Webb and husband Ralph, Burlington; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Burlington Union Church, Burlington, on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Angie Cosner and the Rev. Sue Lowcock Harris officiating.
The body will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the services.

S. PHYLLIS ADAMS
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - S. Phyllis Adams, 79, of 126 W. Hampshire St., Piedmont, died Sunday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born May 30, 1917, at Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late James W. Adams and Margaret (Thompson) Adams. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Adams, and two sisters, Bernadette Vogtman and Mary Brown. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Ms. Adams was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, and a member of the Ladies Guild. She retired from Westvaco in June, 1980, with 37 years of service.
Surviving are six nieces, Barbara J. Smith and companion Harry Kesecker, Keyser, Donna L. Cave, Ellicott City, Md., Mary L. Lucas and husband Phil, Cumberland, Jacqueline Bartles and husband Jack, Irwin, Pa., Patricia Cabellero, Metaire, La., Elizabeth Morgan and husband Larry, Belfair, Wa.; one nephew, William Brown, Westernport, Md.; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and 20 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. S.D. Sawyers officiating.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, Baltimore.
Pallbearers will be Craig Smith, Dennis Brown, Jeff Brown, Mitchell Brown, Michael Thompson, and Ryan Brown.
MARVIN C. DELAWDER
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Marvin Cleveland Delawder, 50, of Greenwood Street, Moorefield, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at his residence resulting from a heart attack.
Born Dec. 15, 1946, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Georgia (Stallings) Delawder, Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, and the late Columbus C. Delawder.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Janet (Bergdoll) Delawder; one daughter, Melody Ann Wilson and husband Michael Scott Wilson; one grandson, Tyler Scott Wilson, all of Fort Run; one sister, Helen Doris Middleton, Cumberland; and three brothers, Roy Delawder, Herndon, Va., Norman Delawder, Durgon, and Ray Delawder, Cumberland.
Mr. Delawder was a graduate of Old Town High School in Spring Gap, Md. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart for his valor. He was an employee of Hester's Industries, a member of Baker's Chapel United Methodist Church, the Potomac Valley Men's Choir, the Moorefield American Legion and VFW. His hobby and talent was restoring old furniture back to life.
Friends may call at the Elmore Funeral Home, Moorefield, anytime after 8 a.m. on Friday. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ron Bowyer officiating.
Interment will be in Olivet cemetery, Moorefield, with full military honors accorded at graveside.
A Purple Heart memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m. by the Moorefield Veterans Honorguard.

ELMER H. ADAMS
SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Elmer Howard Adams, 79, of Springfield, died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at his residence.
Born Aug. 26, 1917, in Springfield, he was the son of the late Howard Taylor and Olivia Goldie (Ansel) Adams. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Parker Adams, on July 3, 1992; two brothers, Don and Harold Adams; and one sister, Evelyn Chaney.
Mr. Adams was a retired carpenter having been employed by the late Joseph C. Cannon, general contractor of Romney. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Hampshire Post 91 and VFW Wappocoma Post 1101, both of Romney. He was a member of the Springfield United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two stepsons, George S. Seeders, Fort Ashby, and Ronald P. Seeders, Littleton, Colo.; three brothers, Willis "Andy" Adams, Springfield, Kenneth Adams, Springfield, and Floyd R. "Jack" Adams, Englewood, Colo.; three sisters, Wilma Garland, Springfield, Pauline Hott, Springfield, and Faye Garland, Fort Ashby; six step-grandchildren, Janet Curtis, Spencerville, Md., Randy Seeders, Boonesboro, Md., Mark Seeders, Luray, Va., Ronald Seeders Jr., Roger Seeders and Susan Cissell, all of Littleton; and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Springfield United Methodist Church on Monday, March 24, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deborah Shreve officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. to lie in state for one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Fort Ashby cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Veterans Organizations of Hampshire County.
ROBERT THOMAS "TUB" DAYTON
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Robert Thomas "Tub" Dayton, 61, of Hilltown, Pa., and formerly of Ridgeley, died at his residence on Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997.
He was a 1953 graduate of Fort Ashby High School. He was a plumber by trade and had been employed by Young and Bowman, Doylestown, Pa., for almost 40 years. He was a member of the Doylestown Mennonite Church.
Surviving with his wife, Doris (Kratz) Dayton, are two daughters, Phyllis, wife of Robert C. Utzinger, Ironia, N.J., and Deborah, wife of Steven Landis, Hatfield; two sons, Patrick R. Dayton and wife, Sandra, Pennsburg, and Robert T. Dayton, II, and wife, Susan, Applebachsville; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Ann, wife of J. Vernon Bishop, Doylestown, and Virginia, wife of Carl Moreland, Pinto, and Lois Byler, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five brothers, Calvin Dayton and wife, Norma, Phillip Dayton and wife, Nancy, all of Ridgeley, David Dayton and wife, Imogene, Keyser, W.Va., John Dayton and wife, Dorothy, Blooming Glen, Pa., and Arthur Dayton and wife, Lavonia, Lee's Summit, Mo.
A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. at the Doylestown Church on Tuesday, Nov. 4, with interment in the Lower Hilltown Baptist cemetery on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
AUDREY O. ADAMS
KEYSER, W.Va. - Audrey O. Adams, 91, formerly of 1 School St., Keyser, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, Keyser.
Born Dec. 19, 1905, in Newburg, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Nathan E. and Victoria M. (Friend) Hollen. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. "Bill" Adams in July of 1972.
Mrs. Adams was a retired manager of the millinery department at the Diamond Department Store, Charleston. She was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church, Keyser, the Women of the Presbyterian Church, Alkire Chapter No. 10 Order of the Eastern Star, Keyser, the Keyser Ladies Shrine, Olive Temple No. 59 Pythian Sisters, Keyser, the Keyser Women's Club, the Noontimers Homemakers Club, and the Mineral County Senior Citizens.
Surviving are one son, William Hollen Adams, Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Margaret S. "Peggy" Long, Melbourne, Fla.; one brother, Kenneth R. Hollen, Keyser; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
