RANDALL R. PANCAKE
NEW CREEK, W.Va. - Randall R. ``Randy" Pancake, 47, of New Creek, died Monday, March 31, 1997, at his residence.
Born Feb. 22, 1950, at Keyser, he was a son of Betty (Mongold) Pancake, Keyser, and the late Bruce Pancake.
Mr. Pancake was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a graduate of Keyser High School, and attended Potomac State College, Keyser. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport, Md.
Surviving besides his mother are one brother, Jerry Pancake, Keyser; one sister, Jessie White, Ridgeley; one niece, Jeanette McGann, Keyser; and one great-niece, Chelsea McGann.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald D. Coleman officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
RUTH MULLENNEX
CARPENDALE, W.Va. - Ruth M. Mullennex, 83, of Dawn View Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Carpendale, died Friday, Dec. 19, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1914, on Onego, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Warnie B. and Delia (Roy) Hartman.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Ward Mullennex on Nov. 13, 1968.
Mrs. Mullennex had been a nursing assistant and private duty sitter, having worked at Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church and Cumberland Chapter #56, O.E.S.
Survivors include two sons, James Mullennex, Carpendale, and Robert Mullennex, Cross Lanes, W.Va.; one daughter, Sharon Gray, Carpendale; one brother, Loy Hartman, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; three sisters, Ruby Auvil, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; May Vance and Helen Hartman, both of Onego; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Harry L. Burchell Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the McNeeley cemetery, Hendricks, W.Va., on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
A memorial service by Cumberland Chapter #56, O.E.S. will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
LEON W. PARKER
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Leon Wilco Parker, 76, of Romney, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born May 15, 1920, in Keyser, he was a son of the late Walter L. and Mary A. (Piper) Parker. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene (Bowyers) Parker, on Sept. 22, 1995; and one brother, Walter A. Parker.
Mr. Parker retired from the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind after 34 years of service as building and ground superintendent. He was a member of Romney First United Methodist Church, Romney; VFW Hampshire Post 1101; and the West Virginia Retired Teachers Association. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are one son, Richard L. ``Dickie" Parker, Joshua, Texas; and one daughter, Mrs. Barbara J. Poland and husband Andy, Romney.
Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, Thursday, May 8, 1997, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, May 9, 1997, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Quentin Simpson, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Branch Mountain Methodist cemetery, Three Churches.
CHARLES W. MULLIGAN
CARPENDALE, W.Va. - Charles "Bud" William Mulligan, 65, of Carpendale, died Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born September 24, 1931, in Ridgeley, he was the son of Charles F. Mulligan, Ridgeley, and the late Elizabeth J. (Norris) Mulligan.
Mr. Mulligan was a 1949 graduate of LaSalle High School. He was retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, where he had been a tire builder.
Mr. Mulligan was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 271.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Shirley E. (Kline) Mulligan; one daughter, Pamela L. Mulligan, Cresaptown, Md.; one stepdaughter, Karen E. Higson and husband Ronnie, Wiley Ford; two stepsons, Charles C. McDonald Jr., Fayetteville, N.C., and David L. McDonald, Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Higson, Roseanna Higson, James McDonald, Brent McDonald, Heather Thompson, Jason McDonald, and Jeffrey McDonald; one great-grandson, Christopher Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Janet Kessel.
Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harry L. Burchell, Jr., officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Shives, Robert Frye, Ronald Higson Sr., Robert Kline, Michael Kline, and Dwight Kessel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert "Red" Whitacre and Herbert Buser.

CHARLES J. MILLER
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Charles Joseph Miller, 77, of Silvertree Apartments, Fort Ashby, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 17, 1919, in Boswell, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul Miller and Mary Ann (Verost) Miller.
Mr. Miller was Catholic by faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Regina (Wilson) Miller; two daughters, Linda Kazmarek and husband Peter, Somerset, Pa., Gloria Simpkins and husband Stanley, Clovis, Calif.; one step-son, F. LeRoy Wisenberg and wife Jennifer, Cumberland; one step-daughter, Mary Robinette and husband Blaine, Riverside, Md.; one sister, Pauline Poznonski, Wixon, Mich.; one grandson, Nathaniel Kazmarek; three step-grandsons, Lee Edward Wisenberg, Archie Robinette, and Richard Robinette; one step-granddaughter, Wendy Lee Bray and husband Steven.
There will be no visitation.
Mr. Miller was cremated at his request.
A memorial service will be held at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Fort Ashby, W.Va.
MARGARET E. RAFTER
KEYSER, W.Va. - Margaret Ellen Rafter, 81, of 76 First Street, Keyser, died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born July 30, 1916, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Roy A. and Bertha (Tayman) Rafter.
Ms. Rafter was a retired Physical Education Professor from Potomac State College. She was a graduate of Keyser High School, Potomac State College, and the University of West Virginia with a master's degree.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Keyser; the Cumberland Country Club, and the Mill Creek Club. She was an avid golfer and sportsman.
At her request her body was cremated.
Surviving are a sister, Nelva Jean Cooper, Winchester; 14 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and inurnment will be at Queens Point cemetery, Keyser, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Sue Cubertson Jarrett officiating.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Potomac State College Scholarship Fund for Women's Physical Education.
