DEBRA JOLEEN WALKER
KEYSER, W.Va. - Debra Joleen Walker, 39, of 1300 Rosebury Court, Charleston, and formerly of Keyser, died Friday, April 24, 1998, at her home.
She was born in Cumberland, Md., on Feb. 24, 1959, and was the daughter of Robert L. and Joanna P. (McKenzie) Walker of Keyser.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Ella Mae McKenzie, and paternal grandfather, Robert Lee Walker Sr.
She was a graduate of Keyser High School, class of 1977. She was a member of the Piedmont Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Naomi M. Walker, of Moran Manor Nursing Home; one brother, Robert R. Walker and wife, Carolyn, Falling Waters; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy S. Whitehurst and husband, David, Martinsburg, Mrs. Carol A. Crites and husband, Samuel, Keyser, and Mrs. Patti L. Marple and husband, Donald, Keyser; and a special friend, Randy Burdette, Charleston; five nephews, Samuel and Andrew Crites, David Whitehurst, Donald and Nathan Marple; and three nieces, Amy Hawley, Julie Whitehurst and Dianna Walker.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Whitehurst and the Rev. Donald E. Marple officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion cemetery.
Pallbearers are Samuel Crites I and Samuel Crites II, David Whitehurst, Donald E. Marple Jr., Allen Poland and Randy Burdette.

SUSANNA E. WALKER
FROSTBURG - Susanna Elizabeth Walker, age 81, of St. Vincent DePaul Nursing Center, died Friday, April 24, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born Dec. 31, 1916, in Newburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edgar H. and Bertha (Sanders) Parks. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Oliver Walker, in 1968, and was the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Walker was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Frostburg, and the Farrady Unit #24 American Legion. She was formerly employed by the Celanese Fibers Corporation, Modern Methods, G.C. Murphy Company, and Human Resources Development Center in the Seniors Program at the Frostburg Community Center. She had a radio program with WTBO in the early '30s called "Bobbie and Sue The Harmony Two." She and her husband were instrumental in organizing the original Teen Town in Frostburg in the '50s, and for many years was active in the Women's Republican Club.
Surviving are two sons, John E. Walker and wife, Janice, Frostburg, and Robert J. Walker and wife, Sandra, Gaithersburg; two daughters, Barbara K. McFarland and husband, James, Frostburg, and Sue Ann Thorpe and husband, George, Nokesville, Va.; nine grandchildren, John D. Walker, Stevensville, Tracey Cohee, Ridgeley, W.Va., Kimberly Cox, Davidsonville, Cynthia S. Diamond, Frostburg, Elyse J. Walker, Gaithersburg, Jennifer A. Himer, Jeannie L. Howell, and Georganne M. Thorpe, all of Nokesville, Va.; seven great-grandchildren, Kristen and Kyle Walker, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Olivia Diamond, and Kaitlyn and Connor Cox; four step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Edward Chapman officiating. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be John D. Walker, William A. Walker, Brent Cohee, Robert Cox, James Diamond, Zach Himer, Anthony Howell and Joey Adams.

ALICE PORTER TURNER WALTON
BOSTON, Mass. - Alice Porter Turner Walton, 101, of Boston, died Friday, May 1, 1998, of an aneurysm at Beth Israel Hospital where she had been taken that day.
Born in Boston, June 19, 1896, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus O. Turner and Laura Ann Jones Turner. She also was preceded in death by her husband, George Alexander Walton Sr.; her son, George Alexander Walton Jr.; and her sister, A. Louise Turner Monroe.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Louise Walton, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Alice Walton Emerson, of the home in Brighton, Mass.; a niece, Frances Monroe King, Cleveland, Ohio; two grand-nephews; three grand-nieces; several great-grand-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-grand-nephew.
Mrs. Walton graduated cum laude from Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1916. Upon her return to Boston she worked for the Boston Public Schools, The Boston Chronicle Newspaper, the WPA Writers' Project, The Urban League, and the Boston City Printing Department. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, a Shakespeare aficionado, a participant in amateur dramatics, an expert seamstress, and an avid walker in her younger years. A voracious reader and lover of words, Mrs. Walton was reading, solving cryptograms and double acrostic puzzles and playing scrabble up to the day of her death.
Decades ago, Mrs. Walton had willed her body to Harvard Medical School. In 1955 she was a founding member of the Ethical Society of Boston and was an active contributor for over 40 years. The Society will hold a memorial service for her on Sunday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Longy School of Music, 1 Follen St., Cambridge, Mass.
MARGARET E. WARNICK
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Margaret Elizabeth Warnick, age 86, of Elk Garden, passed away Monday, March 30, 1998, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Oct. 21, 1911, in Tunnelton, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Martin) Watkins. Mrs. Warnick was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. Warnick; and one daughter, Betty Warnick.
Surviving are six sons, Thomas and wife, Doris Warnick, Kalamazoo, Mich., Donald and wife, Joyce, Deer Park, Md., Harry, Mount Storm, W.Va., Richard A., Ralph and wife, Theresa, Elk Garden, and Ronald and wife, Elke, Ravenna, Ohio; three daughters, Emma White and husband, Granville, Bedford, Ohio, Margaret Chambers and husband, Richard, Winter Park, Fla., Carolyn Thompson and husband, Ed, Churchville, Md.; one brother, Vernon Watkins, Newburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Jenette Warnick, Elk Garden, and Mary Eye, Valley Point, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren; 17 and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Md.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donald E. Marple officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Elk District Ambulance Association.
SAMUEL E. WASHINGTON
KEYSER, W.Va. - Samuel E. Washington, 78, of 540 Virginia Ave., Keyser, died on Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at his residence.
Born Feb. 3, 1920, in Keyser, he was the son of the late Clarence H. and Sarah M. (Rolls) Washington. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Rebecca (Davis) Washington, on Oct. 15, 1990.
Mr. Washington was retired from Westvaco. He was a former employee with the B&O; Railroad, and was a parking lot attendant for the American Trust Bank.
He was a member of Janes United Methodist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a Life Member of the Washington Post #152 American Legion, Keyser, and the Aubrey Stewart Post #5957 V.F.W., Piedmont.
Surviving are his daughter, Ann S. Redman, South Windsor, Conn.; and a son, Vincent Fagan, San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Emma Lou McDonald, Keyser. He is also survived by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Weaver officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
PAUL WATSON
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Paul Watson, 74, of 51 Jones St., Piedmont, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, Va.
Born Sept. 5, 1923, at Westernport, Md., he was the son of the late Eston W. and Viola Mae (Dye) Watson.
Mr. Watson was a former coal miner and a construction worker. He also was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Watson, Gettysburg, Pa.; and two sisters, Bessie Braithwaite, Piedmont, and Elizabeth Guinn, Westernport.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, March 5, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lester Clifford officiating.
RICHARD D. "RICK" WAUGH
PAW PAW, W.Va. - Richard D. "Rick" Waugh, 45, of Paw Paw, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
He was born Oct. 5, 1953, in Morgan County, and was a son of Lewis R. Waugh, Berkeley Springs, and the late Helena Herrell Swick.
He was employed by Rich's Products of Winchester, Va.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Barbara Gillam Waugh, of Paw Paw; stepfather, Ray Swick Sr., Oldtown, Md.; three sons, Travis Waugh and Brent Waugh, both of Paw Paw, Patrick Waugh, Fort Stewart, Ga.; five brothers, Roger Waugh, Paw Paw, Ray Swick Jr., John Swick, Michael Swick, Brian Swick, all of Cumberland, Md.; two sisters, Lisa Swick, Cumberland, Beverley Robey, Spring Gap, Md.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, at the Fraley-Kimble Funeral Home in Paw Paw by Michael Collins.
