DOROTHY E. SCHMIDLEN
KEYSER, W.Va. -Dorothy E. Schmidlen, 57, of Route 4, Box 56, Keyser, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born on March 24, 1941, at New Haven, Conn., she was a daughter of Dorothy I. (Clark) Kesecker of Route 4, Keyser, and the late Woodrow W. Kesecker.
Mrs. Schmidlen was a 34-year employee of the F&M; Bank in Keyser, and most recently served as manager of the F&M; Bank Express branch on Southern Drive and Route 220. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Keyser, where she was a member of the church choir. She was also a former member of the Keyser Rescue Squad.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Virgil L. "Pete" Schmidlen Jr.; two sons, Thomas L. Moore, Eldersburg, Md., Michael D. Moore, West Mifflin, Pa.; two stepsons, Michael E. Schmidlen, M. Shawn Schmidlen, both of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Woodrow W. Kesecker, Keyser; one sister, Rosalie Davis, Keyser; two grandchildren, Alexander T. Moore, Allison D. Moore; four step grandchildren.
At Mrs. Schmidlen's request, her body was cremated and there will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Keyser, where all family and friends are invited to attend. The Rev. Sam Starling Jr. will officiate.
The Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Schmidlen be directed to either the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 232, Keyser, WV 26726, or to the American Cancer Society, 111 S. George St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
For the convenience of those attending the memorial service, additional parking is available at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, 85 S. Main St., one block south of the church.
VIRGIL A. SECRIST
NEW CREEK, W.Va. - Virgil Andrew Secrist, 81, of New Creek, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at Grant County Hospital, Petersburg.
Born May 7, 1917, in Lahmansville, he was a son of the late Edward and Tyne (Lahman) Secrist. He also was preceded in death by one son. Virgil.
Mr. Secrist was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl (Brown) Secrist; five sons, William and wife Jean, Keyser, Duke, of Westernport, Roger and wife Darlene, Petersburg, and Melvin and wife Sharon, Kitzmiller, Md.; eight daughters, Wanda Coleman, Silver Spring, Md., Martha Beavers and husband Elwood, Westernport, Md., Betty Kidwell and husband Tom, Oakland, Md., Wilma Jean Howdyshell and husband Paul, Kitzmiller, Lillie Moats and husband Wayne, Oakland, Kathy Elliott and husband Terry, Kitzmiller, Mary Harvey and husband Ellis, Elk Garden, and Linda Shillingburg and husband Jerry, Terra Alta; two sisters, Violet Brown, Gormania, and Maxine Keptnek, Keyser; 45 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Brackett officiating.
ANN SEE
PURGITSVILLE, W.Va. - Mrs. Ann See, age 63, of Purgitsville, passed away Saturday evening at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Nov. 3, 1934, at Old Fields, she was the daughter of the late Hobart and Sadie (McNeil) McCroskey. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George W. and Londreth H. McCroskey Jr.
Mrs. See was a Rural Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Neil See; one son, Brian See, Augusta; three daughters, Beth Judy, Moorefield, Marcia Rohrbaugh and Angela See, Purgitsville; one sister, Kathryn McCroskey, Petersburg; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, at the Fraley Funeral Home, Moorefield, with Pastor Ken Dolan officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fraley Funeral Home, Moorefield.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fraley Funeral Home, Moorefield.

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Helen Frances (Duckworth) Seeders, 67, of Fort Ashby, died Saturday, April 10, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1930, in Green Spring Valley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry Ernest and Bertha Inez (Hinkle) Duckworth.
Mrs. Seeders was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the WSCS.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Seeders; two sons, Jimmy Seeders and wife, Tami, Richmond, Va., and Christopher Seeders, Keyser; two daughters, Karen Seeders and Angie Seeders, both at home; two brothers, Raymond Duckworth and wife, Jane, and Sam Duckworth and wife, Midge, all of Green Spring; seven sisters, Mildred Light and husband, Ernest, Old Furnace Road, Hazel McBride and husband, Rollin, Bruceton Mills, Thelma Puffinburger and husband, Walter, Green Spring, Sue Beam and husband, Dale, Springfield, Betty Rainey and husband, Herb, Oklahoma City, Okla., Virginia Collins and Elizabeth Wolford, both of Romney; a brother-in-law, Bob Seeders and wife, Joan, Patterson Creek; a sister-in-law, Martha Stotler and husband, Bob, Baltimore; one granddaughter, Joy Diane Seeders, Paducah, Ky.; and one great-granddaughter, Angel Diane Seeders, Paducah.

ROBERT "BOBBY" NORMAN SENN
OLD FURNACE ROAD, Ridgeley, W.Va. - Robert "Bobby" Norman Senn, 67, of Old Furnace Road, Ridgeley, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Katherine (Clark) Senn.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Louise Senn; and one brother, William Franklin Senn.
Mr. Senn retired from the Pepsi Cola Company with 40 years' service, where he had been a route salesman.
He had also owned and operated Furnace Auto Body for over 30 years.
Mr. Senn was a member of the Cumberland Skilpool League, the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #271, Gold Star Post #6452, V.F.W.; Teamsters & Chauffeurs Local #453; and was an avid camper and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Jean (Stonebreaker) Senn; three sons, William F. Senn and wife, Daretta, Short Gap, Robert E. Senn and wife, Cindy, Cumberland, and Randy L. Senn, and fiancee, Dee Walters, Cumberland; two daughters, Paula J. (Senn) Hall and husband, F. Jay, Ridgeley, and Karen R. (Senn) Corwell and husband, Mark, Ridgeley; one brother, John E. Senn and wife, Sherrell, Cresaptown; two sisters, June Skidmore and husband, Bob, Ridgeley, and Helen Petit, and husband, Bill, Ridgeley; sister-in-law, Sonia Senn, Ridgeley; 12 grandchildren, Heather Lynn Senn, Travis William Senn, Angela Nicole Senn, Christie Nicole Senn, Robert Blair Senn, Amie Jean Senn, Jason Lee Root, Tyler Jay Hall, Jared Scott Hall, Morgan Jean Hall, Tabatha Louise Corwell, and Andrew Corwell Jr.

LINDY M. SHAMBAUGH
SLANESVILLE, W.Va. - Lindy Martin Shambaugh, 73, of Slanesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at his residence.
Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Sandy Hook, Md., he was a son of the late Albert Martin Shambaugh and Mildred (Woods) Shambaugh. He also was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Shambaugh; one brother, Calvin Shambaugh; one sister, Maxine Hayes; and one grandchild.
Mr. Shambaugh was a heavy equipment operator for the CSX Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the European-Pacific Black Hawk Division, and won the Bronze Star and Oakleaf Cluster.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Bradfield; four sons, Richard M. Shambaugh, Garry Shambaugh and Wade J. Shambaugh, all of Paw Paw, and Keith Andrew Shambaugh, Guam; two daughters, Teresa Shambaugh, Concord, Calif., and Kathy Jo Shambaugh, Radford, Va.; one brother, Curtis Shambaugh, Paw Paw; one sister, Glendora Johnson, Adelphi, Md.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the McKee Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at 1 p.m. with Army Chaplain Lt. Col. Terry Bradfield officiating.
Burial will be in the Island Hill cemetery, Paw Paw. Military rites will be accorded by the Hampshire County Veterans Organization.
Pallbearers will be Austin D. Brown, Robert Thayer, Eddy Ridgeway, Harvey Woods, Vincent Shambaugh and Roland Shambaugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Brown, Theodore Heare, Stanley Snyder, Robert Brown and Robert Corbett.
