MINNIE L. HANLIN
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Minnie Lee Hanlin, age 78, passed away Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at her residence.
Born Jan. 4, 1920, in Elk Garden she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora (Rawlings) Gano. Mrs. Hanlin was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Hanlin; and a son, Richard Lee Hanlin.
Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Jeannie Hanlin, Orange Park, Fla.; a grandson, Rick Hanlin, and his wife, Bobbi Jo, Elk Garden; one granddaughter, Lynn A. Wood, Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Ila Bracht, Florida, Norma Blaker, Keyser, W.Va., and Nellie Evans, Keyser. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home in Kitzmiller, Md.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph Phillips officiating.
MARTHA M. LEWIS
THREE CHURCHES, W.Va. - Martha Marie (Hart) Lewis, 70, of Three Churches, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice.
Born Nov. 16, 1927, in Butler County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Earl and Elsie (Hankinson) Hart.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Howard Lewis; one grandson, Tony Lewis; one brother, Darwood Hart; and one sister, Mary Buterbaugh.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Knobley Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Russell J. Lewis, Ridgeley; one daughter, Jo-Ann (Lewis) Michael, Route 3, Ridgeley; one brother, Franklin Junior Hart, Pennsylvania; one sister, Catherine Lewis, Moorefield; a half-sister, Betty Hart, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Walker officiating.
ALTER B. HANLIN
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. - Walter Blaine Hanlin, 100, of Mount Storm, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg.
Born Oct. 7, 1897, in Scherr, he was a son of the late John W. and Rhoda (Iman) Hanlin. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Mae (Iman) Hanlin.
Mr. Hanlin was self-employed and retired from the railroad. A U.S. Army veteran of World War I, he was a life member of the Mount Storm VFW and the Mount Storm Lions Club.
Surviving are three sons, Robert L. Hanlin, Cambridge, Md., Donald M. Hanlin, Mount Storm, and Russell "Biddy" Hanlin, Hartmansville; two daughters, Marion Lancaster and Norma Kitzmiller, both of Mount Storm; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Friend will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Md., Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Mount Storm United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shelby Sisler officiating.

ANNIE M. HARDY
WILEY FORD, W.Va. - Annie M. (Lawrence) Hardy, 78, of Wiley Ford, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at her residence.
Born Sept. 1, 1919, in Upper Tract, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Rosa (Nelson) Lawrence. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Hardy, in 1972.
Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, Lewis M. Hardy Jr. and wife June, Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Virginia Smith, Harleysville, Pa.; one granddaughter, Lisa Hardy, and one great-grandson, Calvin Hardy, both of Hagerstown, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Md., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harry L. Burchell Jr. officiating.
M. EARL HARMAN
ROUGH RUN, W.Va. - M. Earl Harman, 82, of Rough Run, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at his home.
Born March 12, 1916, at Mozer, he was the son of the late O.G. Harman and Bessie (Greenawalt) Harman. He also was preceded in death by his stepmother, Leola (Bennett) Harman; an infant son; one stepson, E. Paul Mallow; one sister, Juanita Sponaugle; and two brothers, Curtis Harman and Raymond Armentrout.
Mr. Harman was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Hedrick Chapel Church at Rough Run.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane (Mallow) Harman, whom he married
on Jan. 11, 1936; one son, Doug Harman and wife Judy, Morgantown; one daughter, Beverly Yokum and husband Eulis, Petersburg; three sisters, Lenora Deavers, Boonsboro, Md., Sara Mallow, Kline, and Dolsey Harriman, Kingwood; one brother, Glenn Harman, Fairmont; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Hedrick Chapel Church, Rough Run, on Saturday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the church on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Longbon officiating. Burial will be in the Kline cemetery.

MARY ETTA HARRIS
WILEY FORD, W.Va. - Mary Etta (Epperly) Harris, 87, of City View Avenue, Wiley Ford, died Sunday Aug. 2, 1998, at Lions Manor Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 29, 1910, in Floyd, Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Emanuel Epperly and the late Sally Lou (DeHart) Epperly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late George Martin Harris, on Nov. 7, 1997; and a son, David Harris, on Feb. 22, 1997. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Wiley Ford Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her son, Paul Arthur Harris, and wife, Jo (Petenbrink), Westminster, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Harris, Westminster; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

JAMES L. "LES" HARTMAN
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - James L. "Les" Hartman, 81, of Dawn View Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Fort Ashby, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 16, 1916, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Matilda J. (Twigg) Hartman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve M. (Hughes) Hartman, on March 13, 1982; two brothers, George E. Hartman and Walter W. Hartman; three sisters, Mary E. Crabtree, Helen O. Jenkins and Leona M. Harbell.
Mr. Hartman was retired from the Potomac Edison Company, Cumberland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist by faith, a member and past commander of Fort Ashby V.F.W. Post 6667 and a member of Cumberland American Legion Post #13.
Surviving are one daughter, Ruth N. Alt, Fort Ashby; one son, James E. Hartman and wife Patricia, Westernport; one brother, Charles H. Hartman, Bowling Green, Cumberland; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
