MARTHA R. HOOVER
ELKINS, W.Va. - Martha R. Hoover, 80, of Poplar Street, Elkins, formerly of Henry Drive, LaVale, Md., died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins.
Born March 20, 1918, at Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. Griffey and Floda A. (Summerfield) Griffey.
Mrs. Hoover was a ward secretary at Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1982 with 15 years of service. A member of Centre Street United Methodist Church, she was a member and Past Leader of Elisabeth Circle, United Methodist Women; member of McKinley Chapter 12, Order of the Eastern Star; member of the Sports Club of Cumberland; past president of the LaVale Century Club; and member of the Womens Club of Elkins.
Surviving are her husband, William W. Hoover; two daughters, Sandra H. Grahame and husband Joe, Elkins, and Lindsay A. Henning and husband Michael, Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, H. Linwood "Grif" Griffey, Homestead, Fla., and Kenneth P. "Bud" Griffey, Sebastian, Fla.; one grandson; four granddaughters; one great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Centre Street United Methodist Church or the Randolph County Chapter American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be members of the Centre Street United Methodist Mens Club.
WILLIAM T. JONES
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - William T. Jones, age 92, formerly of Piedmont, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Hopemont Hospital, Terra Alta.
He was born in Piedmont on Oct. 18, 1905, and was the son of the late William Jones and Mary Jackson Jones. He was the last surviving member of his family.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Walden cemetery in Westernport, Md. The Reverends David and Harry Coleman will officiate. Memorials can be directed to the Walden cemetery fund in care of Mrs. Marshall Taylor, 73 Erin St., Piedmont, WV 26750.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Fredlock Funeral Home.
FAYE D. HOTT
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Faye Darlene Hott, 54, of 668 1st St., Romney, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, at her residence.
Born Feb. 13, 1944, in Levels, she was the daughter of the late Norman Puffinburger and Wilda (McCleary) Puffinburger. She also was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mrs. Hott was a homemaker. She was a member of the Romney First Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and as a member of the ABW organization.
Surviving are her husband, Gary R. Hott; one son, Lynn Hott and wife Kelly, Augusta; two granddaughters, Jenna and Morgan Hott; three sisters, Elva Jean Sneathen, Inwood, Delores Bailey, Martinsburg, and Karen Phillips, Winchester, Va.; two brothers, Gerald Puffinburger, Fort Ashby, and Roger Puffinburger, Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Romney First Baptist Church, Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Meadows officiating.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
ARLO K. LEWIS SR.
WILEY FORD, W.Va. - Arlo K. Lewis Sr., 58, of Wiley Ford, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at his residence.
Born Feb. 4, 1940, in Higgensville, he was the son of the late Simon and Ethel (Saville) Lewis. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Elroy Lewis, Edgar Lewis, Eugene Lewis, William "Bud" Lewis; and one sister, Eileen Morris.
Mr. Lewis was a retired employee of Yoder's Construction. He was a member of Graceland Baptist Church, Short Gap, and the Laborers Union Local #616.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Kay (Hiett) Lewis; two sons, Arlo K. Lewis Jr., Rawlings, Md., John S. Lewis, and wife, Robin, Cumberland, Md.; one daughter, Leann V. Shambaugh, and husband, Lynn, Paw Paw; one stepson, Troy A. Oster, and wife, Karen, Wiley Ford; one stepdaughter, Debbie K. Jeffrey, and husband, Bill, Wiley Ford; one brother, Buddy Ray Lewis, and wife, Edna, Oldtown, Md.; one sister, Janice Ott, and husband, John, Bloomery; and 11 grandchildren, Troy, Billy, Dylan, Andrew, Casey, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Hanna, April, Joshua and Isaac.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Graceland Baptist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Douglas C. Pickrel and Marshall Carder officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Hospice of the Panhandle, Martinsburg.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his nephew, Bill Lewis, to Dr. Craig Swann and his staff, and to Hospice of the Panhandle.
ROBERT HOTT
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. - Col. Robert V. Hott, 47, who was recently assigned to Headquarters Air Mobility Command DP, Scott Air Force Base, after being stationed at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at his residence.
Born Dec. 2, 1950, at Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of Betty (Ely) Hott, Keyser, and the late Wilco M. Hott Jr.
Colonel Hott was a 1968 graduate of Keyser High School, Potomac State College, and West Virginia University.
Surviving are his wife, Anita Carol (Tate) Hott; one daughter, Amanda Kathleen Hott, at home; two sisters, Linda Brown, Kingwood, W.Va., and Ruth Ann Mozingo, Glendale, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

CHRISTOPHER "CHRIS" SHAWN HOTT
AUGUSTA, W.Va. - Christopher "Chris" Shawn Hott, 23, of R.R. 1, Box 32B, Augusta, died on Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Hott was born on Nov. 9, 1975, in Winchester, Va., a son of Steven L. and Sandra Haines Hott.
He was a volunteer at Slanesville Elementary School. He was a 1994 graduate of Hampshire High School, Romney. He was a 1995 graduate of James Rumsey Technical Institute. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Points, where he was editor of the Hampshire Charge Church Mouse for Salem Church. He was a member of the Slanesville Ruritan Club. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Surviving are his parents of Augusta; two brothers, Shane Hott, Slanesvville, and Chad W. Hott, Augusta; maternal grandparents, Odell and Edna Haines, Points; and paternal grandparents, Lindberg and Marian Hott, Augusta.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Salem United Methodist Church with Gary Edwards and the Rev. Robert Jeffreys officiating.
