CARRIE BELL MARSH
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Carrie Bell Marsh, 72, of Romney, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
She was born April 23, 1926, in Romney, the daughter of the late Mary Nickleson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. Marsh; and one brother, Raymond Nickleson.
She was retired from the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind where she cooked for many years. She attended the Romney Church of God, Romney.
Surviving are six sons, George W. Davidson and Steve W. Davidson, both of Three Churches, Norman W. Davidson, Garland E. Davidson and Coleman R. Davidson, all of Romney, and David W. Davidson, Abilene, Texas; three daughters, Carolyn Hudak, Springfield, Agnes Malcolm, Romney, and Becky Marsh, Three Churches; one stepson, Lawrence Marsh, Franklin; four brothers, Charles Nickleson, Winchester, Glen Nickleson, Roger Nickleson and Wayne Nickleson, all of Romney; one sister, Shirley Eaton, Winchester; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Sterling officiating.
DONALD A. MARKLE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Donald A. Markle, 68, of 404 Richmond St., Keyser, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, Md.
Born March 9, 1931, in Mineral County, he was a son of the late Ralph S. and Blanche E. (Miller) Markle. He also was preceded in death by a son, Donald Kim Markle, on Aug. 27,1991; two brothers, Oral R. Markle and Lou H. Markle; and two sisters, Thelma P. Swaner and Frances H. Ravenscroft.
Mr. Markle was a retired self-employed laborer. He formerly attended the Fairview Chapel United Methodist Church, Waxler Road, Keyser.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma E. (Day) Markle, Keyser; two sons, Steven B. Markle and wife Rebecca, McCoole, Md., and Randolph S. Markle and wife Sherry, Keyser; two daughters, Deborah D. Jessie and husband Les, Keyser, and Connie Kreuser and husband Richard, Kenosha, Wisc.; three brothers, Kenneth L. Markle and Lloyd E. Markle, both of Keyser, and Arnold E. Markle, Madera, Calif.; three sisters, Helen Dale Kimble, Rawlings, Md., Vera L. Beatty and Ruth Elaine Robinson, both of Keyser; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Gwen Wolford officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
DOROTHY E. MALONE
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Dorothy Eileen Malone, 77, of Fort Ashby, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 21, 1922, in Austin, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lenore (Sheehan) Larson.
Mrs. Malone was a 1940 graduate of Ridgeley High School. She was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Darris Malone; one sister, Mrs. Dee Phares, Elkins, W.Va.; a step-sister, Virginia Rae Scanlon, Romney, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren, officiating.
LINDA J. MALCOLM
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Linda Joyce Malcolm, 58, of Romney, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at her residence.
Born Oct. 25, 1940, in Romney, she was the daughter of the late John "Tom" Floyd and Edna Earl (Hines) Davis. She also was preceded in death by one son, Michael E. Malcolm.
Mrs. Malcolm owned and operated Linda's Gift Shop for 25 years and co-owned and operated Romney Auction with her husband Willard Malcolm.
Surviving are her husband, Willard E. Malcolm, Romney; two sons, Chris S. Malcolm, Fort Ashby, and Tim S. Malcolm, Romney; one sister, Debbie J. Davis, Romney; and two grandchildren, Ashton Malcolm, Fort Ashby, and Jeffrey Malcolm, Romney.

GENEVIEVE M. MAGRUDER
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Genevieve Mae Magruder, 89, of Ridgeley, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born March 17, 1910, in Oldtown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Dessie (Kinser) Kifer. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Kifer.
Mrs. Magruder was a homemaker and was employed at the Celanese Corp. for 17 years. She attended Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley. She was much loved by her family and friends, and she will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her husband, Robert H. Magruder; one daughter, Sandra F. Magruder, at home; one sister, Juanita Leasure, Baltimore; one sister-in-law, Nina Kifer, Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Owen Kifer and wife Norma, Monaca, Pa., Homer Kifer and wife Shirley, Aliquippa, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. only.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
HARRY E. PHILLIPS
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Harry E. Phillips, 91, of Petersburg, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at the Grant County Nursing Home where he had resided since Sept. 6, 1994.
Born Jan. 25, 1908, in Tucker County, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Dolly (Losh) Phillips. He also was preceded in death by one son, Allen Phillips; two brothers, Clyde and Delbert Phillips; and two sisters, Pearl and Annie Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was manager for Coffman-Fisher Stores until his retirement. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Past Master and 50-year member of Petersburg Lodge #145 A.F. & A.M., a member of Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 146.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Margaret (Burley) Phillips, whom he married
on Nov. 4, 1931; one son, H. Dean Phillips, Martinsburg; two daughters, Nan P. Kesner, Petersburg, and Ruth P. Wilson, Houston, Texas; one sister, Margaret "Peg" Nelson, a resident of Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Memorial services will be held at the Main Street United Methodist Church Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. John E. Wildman officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Petersburg Lodge #145 A.F. & A.M., Main Street United Methodist Church, or the Grant County Nursing Home.
SHIRLEY A. MYERS
PAW PAW, W.Va. - Shirley Ann Myers, 54, of Paw Paw, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1945, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward Seed Ryan and Georgia Smith Ryan.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and had worked for Consolidated Fruit Orchards and Bonnie Kay Industries in Paw Paw.
Surviving are her husband, Michael R. Myers whom she married
on Nov. 15, 1972; one daughter, Shyrll Ann Fry, Paw Paw; one son, Christopher Myers, Paw Paw; three sisters, Deanna Parrill, Paw Paw, Dottie Shambaugh, Paw Paw, and Nancy Carder, Paw Paw; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lindsey.
Family will receive friends at the Fraley-Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
