MAXINE METZ
ELYRIA, Ohio - Maxine (Ours) Metz, 66, of Elyria, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at EMH Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Cross, W.Va., she lived in Elyria for more than 40 years. She was a bookkeeper for the former Elyria Savings and Trust Bank for more than 10 years before retiring in 1984. Since 1988, she was working part-time as a clerk in the bookstore at Lorain County Community College.
Mrs. Metz was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Elyria. She enjoyed traveling camping at Clare-Mar Lakes in Huntington Township, spending time with her grandchildren and shopping.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Melvin; a daughter, Teri Evans of Elyria; a son, Gary of Elyria; eight grandchildren; a sister, Jean Wisner of New Creek, W.Va.; and brothers Walter Ours of Keyser, W.Va., Jim Ours of Martinsburg, W.Va., Harry Ours of Clarksville, Tenn., Johnny Ours of Rawlings, Md., Kenneth Ours of Antioch, W.Va., and Richard Ours of New Creek, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Burke, in 1997; her parents, Walter and Mildred (Kite) Ours; and a brother, Wayne Ours.
Friends may call at the Busch-Curtis-Scheuffler Family Chapel, 114 Second St., Elyria, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. George Shiltz, pastor of Community United Methodist Church in Elyria, will officiate.

JACK A. PERANDO
OLD FIELDS, W.Va. - Jack Adam Perando, 62, of Old Fields, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born Nov. 22, 1937, in Shallmar, Md., he was the son of the late Scott Perando and the late Maude Rohm Perando. He also was preceded in death by four brothers.
Mr. Perando was an auto mechanic and security guard. He was a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Streets Perando; four daughters, Jacalyn A. Riggleman, Moorefield, Barbara Lipscomb, Old Fields, Cheryl Perando, Hartmansville, and Tina Weese, Augusta; one son, Paul M. Streets, Bloomington, Md.; three sisters, Betty Perando, Cumberland, Md., Neva Lyons, Elk Garden, and Gaye Flanagan, Elk Garden; two brothers, Jess Perando, Branton, Fla., and Ray Perando, El Reno, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, on Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Moreland officiating.
CURTIS E. MARTIN
GORMANIA, W.Va. - Curtis E. Martin, 86, of Gormania, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md.
Born August 4, 1913, in Kilgore, Neb., he was the son of the late Victor E. and Dessie M. (Kemphfer) Martin. He also was preceded in death by one son, Delmas Martin.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Calvary Temple, Mount Storm. A retired coal miner, he was a member of the U.M.W.A., Thomas. Mr. Martin was an army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Donna L. (Shaffer) Martin; two daughters, Donna Fridley, Mount Storm, and Janet Bennett, Riverton; two sons, C. Dwight Martin and Brian D. Martin, both of Bayard; one sister, Laura Mae Shaffer, Kingwood; one brother, Leo Martin, Tunnelton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Md., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
Services will be held at the Calvary Temple on Friday, October 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wesley Georg officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans' organizations in southern Garrett County, Md.
BONITA A. MARTIN
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Bonita "Bonnie" Agnes Martin, 78, of Ridgeley, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 4, 1921, in Gleason, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Mae (Wheeler) Spiker.
She was a 1939 graduate of Ridgeley High School.
Mrs. Martin assisted her father with his grocery store on Main Street, Ridgeley.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Sylvester "Vesty" H. Martin; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Martin and Clara Elizabeth "Marty" Moore and husband Thomas, all of Cumberland; one aunt, Beatrice Cosner, Bayard, W.Va.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Bevans as celebrant.
SARAH J. MARSHALL
KEYSER, W.Va. - Sarah Jane Marshall, 72, of Route 4, Keyser, died on Saturday, April 3, 1999, at her residence.
Born July 7, 1926, in Mount Storm, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin S. and Belva (Fout) Sirk. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Marshall Sr., on Dec. 9, 1970.
Mrs. Marshall was president of the Marshall Oil Co. and a member of the Rees Chapel United Methodist Church, New Creek.
Surviving are two sons, Harry M. Marshall Jr. and wife Nancy C., and Christopher Scott Marshall and companion Connie M., all of Keyser; two sisters, Beulah Kitzmiller, Rawlings, and Edna P. Judy, Mount Storm; and four grandchildren, Wesley Marshall and wife Misti, Brittney, Lindsey and Kileigh.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Sanders officiating.
ROBERT V. MARSHALL
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Robert V. Marshall, 85, of 320 Elm St., Moorefield, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
Born June 12, 1913, in Midland, Md., he was the son of the late Lillian (Raines) and John Hampton Marshall. He also was preceded in death by one son, Robert "Bobby" Carl Marshall, in 1957; three brothers; and two sisters. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Mr. Marshall attended City College in New York City, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was an accountant for many local businesses. He was a member of the Duffey United Methodist Church, the Duffey Mens Bible Class, Masonic Lodge 29, and Moorefield American Legion and VFW.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Bonnie (Calhoun) Marshall; one daughter, Nancy Townsend, Romney; one son, Nicholas Marshall, Moorefield; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home, Moorefield, Saturday after 5 p.m., and the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ted Osgood, the Rev. Laurean R. Smith and Bruce A. Macbeth officiating.
