LARUE R. NOLL
ROMNEY, W.Va. - LaRue (Reynolds) Noll, 88, of Romney, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at the Hampshire Health Care Center in Romney.
She was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Waynesboro, Pa., the daughter of the late Samuel Elmer and Elsie Grace (Zeigler) Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George E. Noll, on April 19, 1999.
She was an accomplished homemaker who excelled in cooking, baking, tailoring, needlework and artistic endeavors.
Mrs. Noll was a 50-year member and Past Worthy Matron of Romney Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 84, and held numerous other offices. She was actively involved in the Rainbow Girls, and she received the Grand Cross of Color. Mrs. Noll was a member of the GFWC of Romney for many years. A dedicated member of the Romney First United Methodist Church for over 50 years, she faithfully served the church in numerous capacities including being active in United Methodist Women and teaching Sunday and Bible schools.
She is survived by one son, Jack R. Noll, Osteen, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jane N. Cooper, Sanford, Fla., Jeanne M. Noll, Romney; four great grandsons, Braxton, Zachary, and Joseph Cooper, Sanford, Fla., Christopher Johnson and wife, Kerry, Cleveland, Tenn.; one great-great-grandson, D.J. Johnson, Cleveland, Tenn.
Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Sunday, Aug. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Romney First United Methodist Church, Romney, on Monday, at 10 a.m. Mrs. Noll will be taken to the church at 9 a.m. to lie in state for one hour before the service. The Rev. Calvin McCutcheon will officiate.
MELVA M. POWERS
KEYSER, W.Va. - Melva M. Powers, 83, of 200 Airport St., Keyser, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born Oct. 29, 1915, at Harrisonburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Nora L. (Wiland) Warnick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee J. Power, in 1956. Others who preceded her were three brothers, Harold Warnick, Wendell Warnick and Foster Warnick; and one sister, Frances Field.
Mrs. Powers retired in 1976 from the Burroughs Adding Machine Company of Detroit where she was a business machine operator. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont.
She is survived by a brother, Wallace E. Warnick, Keyser; and a sister, Katherine Shook, Piedmont.
There will be no visitation at Mrs. Powers' request.
Private graveside services will be held. Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Powers' arrangements are entrusted to the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Md.

ELIZABETH NELSON (HODGES)
KEYSER, W.Va. - Elizabeth (Hodges) Nelson, 74, of Keyser, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at her residence.
Born Oct. 29, 1924, in Dunn, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Mack F. and Mildred (Holland) Hodges. She also was preceded in death by her son, Charles Nelson Jr., and her daughter, Beverly J. Nelson.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School for 40 years. She also served in many different aspects of her church that she loved dearly.
Surviving are her husband, Charles "Chuck" Nelson Sr.; her daughter, Millie Guerin and husband Howard, Keyser; her brother, Edward F. Hodges Sr. and wife Hilda, Fairmont, N.C.; three sisters, Dorothy Nicholas, South Hill, Va., Frances Foster, Charlotte, N.C., and Carrie Schwill, Dunn, N.C.; her granddaughter, Vickie Guerin at West Virginia Wesleyan College; and her grandson, Nelson Guerin at Keyser High School.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Keyser Presbyterian Church, Keyser, on Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Morton O. Harris Jr. officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.

EDWARD J. MORAN
GRAFTON, W.Va. - Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army (retired) Edward Joseph Moran, 87, of Chester, Va., died Monday, March 22, 1999, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg after an extended illness.
A native of Grafton, he was the son of the late Patrick A. and Mary Alice Shulte Moran. Mr. Moran was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Following his retirement from the Army he served as a federal employee at Fort Lee until 1975. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Lillian Moran; two sons, Chaplain "Capt." Edward C. Moran, U.S.A.F., of Incirlik, Turkey, and Kevin J. Moran of Sterling, Va.; one daughter, Elizabeth Ellen Moran of Wheaton, Md.; three brothers, John Moran of Moorehead, N.C.; Frank Moran of Oakridge, Tenn. and William Moran of Newark, Del.
A Eucharist of the Resurrection will be conducted Friday, March 25, 1999, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Colonial Heights with Monsignor Robert Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Chester. A Christian Wake service will be held Thursday evening at the church, following the wake service the family will receive friends.

PAULINE C. OTWELL
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Pauline (Castleton) Otwell, 83, of Petersburg, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at the Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born Nov. 29, 1916, in Spencer, La., she was the daughter of the late Pearl A. and Bertie (Nolan) Castleton Spence. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Alvy B. Otwell on July 21, 1988; one daughter; one grandson; three brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty Otwell Libby and husband Roy, Plantsville, Conn.; one son, Jerry B. Otwell, Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jonathan Libby, Tully, N.Y., Timothy Libby, Plantsville, Conn.; Kathy Libby-Biela, Southington, Conn., and Maureen Siecienski Czentnar, Middletown, Conn.; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Widenmeyer, Monroe, La.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral will be conducted at the Schaeffer Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John E. Wildman officiating.

LAURA M. MOWERY
THOMAS, W.Va. - Laura Marie Mowery, 89, of Thomas, died Sept. 15, 1999, at the Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas.
She was born Jan. 18, 1910, in Oakland, Md., the daughter of the late Peter Mason and Elizabeth Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mowery in 1989; one son; one brother; one sister; and one grandchild.
Survivors include one son, Robert P. Rank, Cumberland, Md.; one daughter, Dianne L. Cress, Masontown; one sister, Margaret White, Youngstown, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and six great-children.
Mrs. Mowery was a homemaker.
Friends will be received at the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis on Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. J.J. Johnson will officiate.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill cemetery in Thomas next week following cremation. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
