FLORENCE Y. MICHAEL
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Florence Yost Michael, 33, of the Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Ruby Memorial Hospital following her brief battle with cancer.
Born June 13, 1966, in Mount Morris, Pa., she was the daughter of Gene and Sara Henderson Yost, Mount Morris.
Mrs. Michael was a 1984 graduate of Mapletown High School. She was a member of the Dunkard Township Grange. She had been employed for eight years at Mountaineer Honda and later worked with her parents, who owned and operated L & T Supply Company in Mount Morris. She also worked with her husband in their business, Michael's Auto Body.
In addition to her parents, surviving are her husband of ten years, Randy Michael; three daughters, Taylene, Stephanie and Rachel Michael, all at home; one brother, Duane Yost and wife Judy, Mount Morris; one sister, Vonda Lewellen and husband James, Mount Morris; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Francis and Cheryl Henderson, Morgantown, and Scott and Darlene Miller, Morgantown; six nephews, Justin Yost, Josh and Richard Lewellen, Taylor Henderson, Zack and Ben Miller; four nieces, Lindsay Yost, Sara Lewellen, Ashlee Henderson, and Abby Miller; and mother-in-law, Harriet Irene Michael, Morgantown.
Mrs. Michael was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Donald R. Michael; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Yost; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Henderson.
Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home Inc., 153 Spruce St. Morgantown, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held there Monday, Nov. 15 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. R. Andrew Verner and the Rev. Douglas Miller officiating.
MARTHA J. NOLL
SANFORD, Fla. - Martha Jane "Molly" Long Noll, 70, of Sanford, died April 26, 1999, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born June 15, 1928, in Springfield, W.Va., she moved to central Florida in 1967.
She was a retired media assistant who had served 28 years in Seminole County public schools. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Lake Mary, Fla.
Molly was a member of the Sanford Optimist Club, the Over-50 Club, a volunteer for The Harbor and Midway Elementary School, a participant in the Golden Age Games, and an avid bowler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Parker Long and Eva Mae Allender Long; a sister, Irene May Long; and two brothers, Edward Louis Long and Carl Raymond Long.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Long Sesow and husband Anthony, Fairfax, Va.; two daughters, Jane Noll Cooper, Sanford, and Jeanne Noll, Romney, W.Va.; four grandsons, Christopher Johnson and wife Kerry, Cleveland, Tenn., and Brax, Joseph and Zachary Cooper, Sanford; and one great-grandson, D.J. Johnson, Cleveland, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held May 2, 1999, in Sanford.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, at the Springfield Hill cemetery, Springfield, W.Va. The Rev. Calvin McCutcheon of Romney United Methodist Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, W.Va.
RAY E. MICHAEL
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Ray E. "Radar" Michael, 58, of 24 Central Ave., Petersburg, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Grant Memorial Hospital.
Born June 11, 1940, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Merl H. and Flossie (Wolfe) Michael. He also was preceded in death by a brother, William Neil Michael, in 1945.
Ray was a bookkeeper for Potomac Engineering until 1992. He was office clerk for his brother, Gene G. Michael, Nationwide Insurance Agency in Petersburg, and was score keeper for Petersburg High School basketball games and Little League for several years. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and Treasurer of Independent Order of Odd Fellows 408, Petersburg. He was a member of Burlington United Methodist Family Services Auxiliary.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Fulk) Michael, whom he married
on May 25, 1985; one sister, Gail Rohrbaugh and husband Calvin, Shanks; five brothers, Darwin Michael and wife Phyllis, Carroll Michael and wife Joan, Gene Michael and wife Dottie, and Tracy Michael, all of Petersburg, and Harold Michael and wife Patti, Moorefield; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Main Street United Methodist Church, Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Wildman officiating.
Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, Grant Memorial Hospital, or the charity of the donor's choice.
Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 408 will conduct services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
DONALD R. MICKEY
FURNACE ACRES, Ridgeley, W.Va. - Donald Royce Mickey, 55, of Furnace Acres, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 9, 1943, in Ridgeley, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Alta M. (Larson) Mickey.
Mr. Mickey had served in the Air National Guard as a flight engineer for 16 years.
He had been employed as a millwright through Local #1024, Carpenters & Millwrights Union.
Mr. Mickey belonged to Calvary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila (Fryer) Mickey; five children, Dennis Mickey and wife, Janet, Ridgeley, Trina Fisher, Ridgeley, Donald Mickey Jr., and wife, Melissa, Havre de Grace, Md., Shane Mickey and wife, Lisa, Knoxville, Tenn., and Holly Mickey, Ridgeley; three grandchildren, Britni and Whitni Fisher and Brooks Mickey, all of Ridgeley; one brother, Freddie Mickey, Fort Ashby; one sister, Pat Clark, Savannah, Ga.; and two aunts, Eileen Malone and husband, Jack, Fort Ashby, and Winnie Phares, Elkins.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Heisey officiating.
ISABEL G. MILEY
FISHER, W.Va. - Isabel Gilbert Miley, 91, died Aug. 20, 1999, at the home of her daughter Mary Jo Keller, son-in-law Robert, and grandson Christopher in Fisher.
She was a native of Buena Vista, Va. She came to Moorefield in 1926 and was a bookkeeper for Hardy Motor Yards. She served as recorder for the Town Council and retired after 19 years as postal clerk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Miley, in 1980.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Loughhead of Buena Vista. In addition to a daughter, she is survived by a son, James G. Miley, Pueblo, Colo.; four granddaughters, all of the Annapolis area; two other grandsons, Eric Keller, Midland, Va., and Dr. Robert Keller, New Market, Va. She leaves 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Elmore Funeral Home, Moorefield, Saturday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company.
BETTY L. MILLER
CAPON BRIDGE, W.Va. - Betty Lee Miller, 69, of HC 71, Box 108, Capon Bridge, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Dec. 22, 1929, in Paw Paw, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Addie Hook Eaton. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee R. Deaver on May 3, 1964, and her second husband, Bruce C. Miller on Nov. 18, 1986.
Mrs. Miller formerly owned and operated the North River Mills Grocery located in North River Mills for over 40 years. She was a member of the Mount Union Christian Church, near Slanesville.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Baker, North River Mills, Trixie Willis, Burlington, and Teresa "Becky" Coster, Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Chloe Vance, Paw Paw, and Elma Thorne, Slanesville; and three grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home, Capon Bridge, on Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be conducted at the Mount Union Christian Church, near Slanesville, on Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at 11 a.m. with Minister Jason Lykins and the Rev. Herman Goede officiating.
