SAMUEL KUYKENDALL
KEYSER, W.Va. - Samuel Dent Kuykendall, 83, of Route 4, Box 177, Stoney Run Road, Keyser, died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born on Oct. 16, 1915, he was a son of the late Samuel McCoole and Anna (DeBerry) Kuykendall. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Zaida V. (Troutman) Kuykendall, on Feb. 24, 1999; and by his brother, William F. Kuykendall.
Mr. Kuykendall was retired from the B&O; Railroad as a car inspector with 30 years' service. For 25 of those years he was also employed by the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Keyser area. He was a 1931 graduate of Keyser High School and attended both Potomac State College and Davidson College, Davidson, N.C.
Mr. Kuykendall became a Christian on March 24, 1954, and later that year became a member of the Mineral Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II, and he was a member of the Boyce-Houser Post #41, American Legion, Keyser.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene D. Kuykendall, Ronald D. Kuykendall, both of Keyser, and Galen L. ``Butch" Kuykendall, Stephens City, Va.; 13 grandchildren, Eugene D. Kuykendall II, Jeffrey L. Kuykendall, Jill E. Holler, Charles L. Kuykendall, William R. Kuykendall, Joshua S. Kuykendall, Shawn R. Brooks, Christine Fish, Cynthia Kirchner, Ronald D. Kuykendall, David W. Kuykendall, Lara S. Kuykendall and Andrew N. Kuykendall; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Uhlenhopp officiating.
ALICE MAY IMES
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Alice May (Kimble) Imes, 66, of Ridgeley, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at her home.
Born May 3, 1932, in Flintstone, Md., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Vicey (Self) Kimble. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Marty and Nick Imes.
Mrs. Imes was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Benjamin F. Imes; two sons, Alan Imes and Rick Imes; one stepson, Steve Imes; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor David R. Price officiating.
ELLEY GAILE HILL
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Elley Gaile Hill, 17 months, of Ridgeley, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
Born Aug. 19, 1997, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of James Edward and Robbyn Gayle (Armstrong) Hill.
She belonged to Kingsley United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Elley is survived by her brother, Taylor Abram Hill. She was the granddaughter of Bernard and Marjorie Gail Hill, Ridgeley, and the late Isaac and Jeanette Armstrong; great-granddaughter of Bernard and Margaret Hill, Ridgeley, and Joseph and Virginia Carlile, Bowling Green; niece of Brian and Julie Hill and Jason and Jamie Hill, all of Ridgeley. Elley had three special great-aunts, Elma Layman, Frostburg, Md., Brenda Kooken, Upper Marlboro, Md., and Joretha Scouten, Smithsburg; a godmother, Nicki Comer, Morgantown; and a loving extended family.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Kingsley United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Hill, Jason Hill, Scott Milliron and Rob Armentrout.

WILDA F. LAHMAN
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Wilda Fay (Taylor) Lahman, 77, of Columbus, Miss., formerly of Piedmont, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1921, in Beryl, and was the daughter of the late William Taylor and Eliza Jane (Aronhalt) Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Lahman, in 1994. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by one son, John W. Lahman and wife, Susie, Belair, Md.; two daughters, Jean Lannon and husband, Bill, Moorefield, and Vicky Malcolm and husband, Dennis, Columbus; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lahman was a homemaker and a member of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harry Coleman officiating.
DELPHIA P. KITZMILLER
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Delphia Pancake Kitzmiller, 97, of Centre, Ala., formerly of Elk Garden, died on Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center, Centre.
Born Dec. 30, 1901, in New Creek, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Emma Elizabeth (Robey) Pancake. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Perry M. Kitzmiller, on April 22, 1984; and her daughter, Marjorie Gummo.
Mrs. Kitzmiller was a member of the Hartmansville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, Jack Kitzmiller, Goshen, Ind.; and a daughter, Marilyn Brewster, Centre, Ala. She also is survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the fuenral home on Saturday, April 17, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Gerstell officiating.
JESSE L. LAMBERT SR.
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Jesse Lee Lambert Sr., 71, of Ridgeley, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Sept. 19, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Nora (Iser) Lambert.
Mr. Lambert retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in 1974. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1953. He was a member of the Ridgeley V.F.W., Post #6452, and the AFL-CIO Local #26.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Jenkins) Lambert; three daughters, Nina Rice and husband, Mike, Cumberland, Brenda Porter, Cumberland, and Donna Welch, Baltimore, Md.; three sons, Johnny Lambert Sr. and wife, Linda, Ridgeley, Richard Lambert Sr. and wife, Ebbie, Cumberland, Jesse Lambert Jr. and wife, Beth, Fort Ashby; four sisters, Alice Shanholtz, Springfield, Mary Edna Smith, Ridgeley, Eleanor Foley, Green Spring, Helen Ganoe, Cumberland; three brothers, Wesley Lambert, Fort Ashby, Donald Lambert, Ridgeley, James Iser, Fort Ashby; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles F. Riggleman officiating.
Interment will be in Springfield Hill cemetery, Springfield. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Richard Lambert Jr., Lester Lambert, Michael Rice Jr., Joseph Rice, Brian Rice and Ronnie Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Billy Porter, Johnny Lambert Jr. and Jesse Lambert III.
