RAYMOND L. FISHER
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. -Raymond Lee Fisher, 64, of 723 N. Main St., Moorefield, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, of an apparent heart attack while hunting on his parents' property.
Born June 13, 1935, in Moorefield, he is the son of Virginia A. Fisher and the late Ralph H. Fisher. He was also preceded in death by two wives.
Mr. Fisher retired from the Stafford Correctional Center as a Correction Officer and Guard. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Baker's Chapel Methodist Church and Moorefield American Legion, the VFW, and was presently employed by the Wackenhut Security of Palm Beach, Fla.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia (Parsons) Fisher, Moorefield; one son, Robert "Bobby" Fisher, of Moorefield; his close friend and Companion, Evangeline Ours, of Moorefield; one sister, Betty Jean Ford, of L.A. Calif.; three brothers, Ralph F. Fisher, of Moorefield, Charles B. Fisher, of Panorama City, Calif., and Joe P. Fisher, of Moorefield; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call anytime Thursday after 2 p.m. at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home, Moorefield. The family will receive friends there from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Glendon Berg and the Pastor Ron Bowyer officiating.
Burial will follow at the Olivet cemetery, Moorefield, with full military graveside Rites accorded by the Grant County Veterans Organization.

JAMES W. FITZWATER
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - James W. "Digger" Fitzwater, 67, of Moorefield, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at the Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born Sept. 8, 1932, in Hardy County, he was the son of James and Effie (Earl) Fitzwater. He also was preceded in death by one sister; and two brothers.
Mr. Fitzwater served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren and the Moorefield VFW and American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine (Wilson) F. Fitzwater; two daughters, Amy Cosner and Nancy Louise Harman, both of Moorefield; foster children, Janie Sites, Beverly, and James Wichael and Thomas Miller, both of Moorefield; one sister, Maxine Wratchford, Moorefield; five grandchildren; five foster grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call anytime after 8 a.m. Sunday at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home in Moorefield. The family will receive friends there from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Ours and the Rev. Glendon Berg officiating.

GERTRUDE "TRUDEE" EWERS
ROMNEY, W.VA. - Gertrude "Trudee," Ewers of Romney, W.Va., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.
Born July 25, 1919, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Esther (O'Baker) Shannon.
Mrs. Ewers graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Cumberland. She served in the Army Nurse Corp during WW II and was stationed overseas for two and a half years. She spent many years working as a registered nurse. Her last position was with the Hampshire County Board of Education as a School Nurse. Mrs. Ewers worked with her husband Randolph, a missionary, to establish the Servant's Heart Ministry in Mandeville, Jamaica. She was a member of the Romney Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Ewers gave freely of herself when and wherever she was needed. Her last statement was, "Please know I love you all dearly. God Bless and have a long and happy life."
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Randolph L. Ewers; one son, Randolph William Ewers, Romney, W.Va.; one daughter, Susan Shannon (Ewers) Shields, Romney,W.Va.; one foster son, Dameon Sherman, Jamaica; one brother, Scott Shannon, Havre De Grace, Md.; one sister, Rita Meise, Salisbury, Md.; three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and many Christian friends.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 168 N. Grafton St., Romney, W.Va. A graveside service will be held at Indian Mound cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. with the Dr. John S. Franklin and Pastor O'Neil Sherman of Jamaica officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, W.Va.
Internment will be in the Indian Mound cemetery, Romney, W. Va.
Mrs. Ewers requested expressions of sympathy be sent to the Servant's Heart Ministry in care of the Bank of Romney.
EDGELL W. GARDNER
ANTIOCH, W.Va. - Edgell W. Gardner, 79, of Antioch, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on Sept. 17, 1920, in Antioch, he was the son of the late Lloyd W. and Carrie C. (Smoots) Gardner. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Wreatha (Rotruck) Gardner, on May 18, 1986; and by two brothers, Branson L. Gardner, and Howard W. Gardner.
Mr. Gardner was a retired truck driver with the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Knobley Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn (Shoemaker) Evans Gardner; two stepdaughters, Shirley Krewson, Old Fields, W.Va., Bonnie Shockey, Martinsburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Herman L. Gardner, Carlisle, Pa., Olen E. Gardner, Boiling Springs, Pa.; five sisters, Kathleen Wilt, Westernport, Mary E. White, Burlington, W.Va., Virginia L. Gunderson, Columbia, S.C., Annie W. Stewart, Abingdon, Margaret "Maggie" Diegel, Belcamp; six step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Knobley Church of the Brethren on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Roger Leatherman, officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Gladys Patricia "Pat" Farmer, 67, of 9 Water St., Petersburg, died suddenly at her home on Monday, Dec. 27, 1999.
Born March 28, 1932, in Cogenhoe, Northampton, England, she was the daughter of the late Richard William and the late Mabel (Ward) Farmer. She also was preceded in death by one brother, John "Jack" Farmer.
Pat came to America in 1955. She was a bookkeeper for the town of Petersburg for several years and worked for Bishoff's Florist. She later owned and operated Pat's Flower Shop in Petersburg until her retirement.
Surviving are two sisters, twin sister Pam E. Rust and husband John, and Edith Cox; one sister-in-law, Ann Farmer, all of Cogenhoe, Northampton, England; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Services and burial for the cremated remains will be held in England.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or charity of choice.

RAYMOND GAYNOR
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Raymond Gaynor, 88, a resident of Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, formerly of 22 W. Hampshire St., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born Oct. 8, 1911, in Phillipi, he was the son of the late Dellet Monroe and Molly (Burley) Gainer. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Maysel (Bonner) Gaynor, on April 6, 1996; two brothers, Ronnie and Dellet; and two half-brothers, Joseph and Charles Picard.
Surviving are one sister, Evelyn Shrader, Thomas; six half-sisters, Mary Stilly, Katherine Bonzek, Naomi Stoveash, Margaret Yonish, Betty Shultz, and Helen Treylenik; two half-brothers, William Picard and James Picard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gaynor was retired from the Westvaco Corporation. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating.
MARGUERITE R. FEASTER
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Marguerite R. Feaster, age 84, of Petersburg, died Friday, July 2, 1999, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Born Oct. 12, 1914, in Morgantown, she was a daughter of the late Fred L. and Bessie (McIndoe) Feaster. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Feaster, Nellie Feaster and Lois Ours.
She was a graduate of St. John's Academy, and she attended Fairmont State College and West Virginia University. She taught school for 42 1/2 years in Grant and Mineral counties. She also was a member of Grant County Association of Retired School Employees and a member of Potomac Valley Baptist Church, Maysville.
Surviving are her brother-in-law, Leland Ours, Petersburg; and two nephews, Thad Ours and wife, Nancy, and Fred Ours and wife, Carol, all of Petersburg.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be conducted at Maysville cemetery, Maysville, on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ted Anderson officiating. Interment will follow.
