William Roscoe Radcliff, 65, of Coxs Mills, died Saturday, July 9, 1994, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, after an extended illness. He was born in Gilmer County, a son of the late Archie and Mabel Post Radcliff. He was employed in bridge construction. Surviving are his wife, Martha Jane Jones Radcliff; one daughter, Betty L. Jones of Sissonville; one son, William Gary Radcliff of Sand Fork; one brother, Harry Radcliff of Coxs Mills; two sisters, Joy Osborn of Coxs Mills and Eula Lamb of Alum Bridge; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Services are scheduled Thursday, 7 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Holley Faulkner officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday.
RADER, ROBERT W.
Robert William Rader, 88, of Belpre, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 1994, at Selby General Hospital, Marietta. He was born in Brooksville, a son of the late Lee and Lona Vannoy Rader. He attended Calhoun County schools, was on the Rationing and Zoning Committee during World War II and was the manager of Universal Supply for 46 years. He was active in Belpre civic organizations and was a charter member and past patron of Belpre Chapter 541 Order of Eastern Star and past master of Belpre Masonic Lodge 690 AF&AM. He was active in building the Belpre EUB Church and parsonage, and was a member of First Lutheran Church Parkersburg. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Jeanette Nolan Rader, one daughter, Jo Ann Brookhart of Parkersburg; two grandsons; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Okra Nichols Grogg of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. James Kinsler officiating, and burial in Rockland cemetery, Belpre.

Charles R. Richards, 65, of Big Bend, died Sunday, Mar. 20, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after a brief illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Wilson and Molly Frederick Richards. He was a retired oilfield worker for Cain Oil & Gas Co., Big Bend, with many years of service. Surviving are three sons, James Richards of Big Bend, Jeff Richards of Willoughby, Ohio, and Randall Richards of Florida; two daughters, Patricia Richards of Willoughby and Jean Johnson of Beechwood, Ohio; three brothers, Ershel Richards of Peterstown, Larry Richards of Parkersburg, and Henry Richards of Grantsville; three sisters, Violet Richards and Retta Meadows, both of Vienna, and Edith Richards of Medina, Ohio; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan Richards and Orland Richards. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Hunt-Richards cemetery, Big Bend.

Ernest S. Richards, 69, of Glenville, died Sunday, Apr. 17, 1994, at Calhoun General Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late Walter G. and Ada Tingler Richards. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired from Ryerson Steel Co., Cleveland. He was a member of Beech Valley United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Price Richards; two brothers, Cecil Richards of New London, Ohio, and Donzel Richards of Madrid, Spain; and three sisters, Ruby Mathers of Hyattsville, Md., Yvonne Collins of Big Springs, and Melbadene Sims of Coxs Mill. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Gail Richards, Elmer Richards, Forrest Richards, Ronzel Richards and Charles Richards; and one sister, Shirley Ann Cox. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Pleasant Hill cemetery, with Rev. Mike Reynolds officiating. There was no visitation and the family requested no flowers.

Shirdie Richards, 80, of Big Bend, died Friday, Oct. 28, 1994, at his residence of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Mack and Anna Yoak Richards. He was retired from W. Va. Dept. of Highways, and was a member of Broomstick Community Church, Five Forks. Surviving are his wife, Mary Pearl Selmon Smith Richards; three daughters, Doris Lanzo of Parma, Ohio, Carol Green of South Carolina and Joann Dawson of Big Springs; three sons, Roger Richards, Robert Richards and Kenneth Richards, all of Simpsonville, S. C.; two stepdaughters, Gladys Parker of Parkersburg and Sue Wade of Steubenville, Ohio; two half-brothers, Mack Richards and Billy Richards, both of Big Bend; and seven sisters, Rosa Davis and Isabelle Davis, both of Grantsville, Loraine Pursley, Goldie Richards and Clara Richards, all of Big Bend, Hazel Gribble of Brohard and Pauline Jones of Salem. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Delbert Kirby officiating. Burial was in Broomstick cemetery, Five Forks.

Osie Lucy Rickey, 89, of Belpre, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 21, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Chestnut Lick Community, near Grantsville, a daughter of the late Daniel and Alice Lucy Sumpter Parsons. She was a homemaker who, along with her husband, operated a family farm. She was a member of Calvary Community Church, Belpre. Surviving are one foster son, Harold Locke of Louisville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews, including Shirley Richardson and Louise Yeager, both of Belpre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rickey; nine brothers; and three sisters. Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Rev. Ken Fullerton officiating. Burial was in Brush Run cemetery, Tyler County.

Opal L. Riddel, 86, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 1994, at Roane General Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late John G. and Rose Howard Riddel. She was a former cook for the old Rainbow Hotel & Restaurant and J&B Drug Store, Grantsville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville. Surviving are four sisters, Janette Robinson, Brooke Rogers and Eleanore Duskey, all of Grantsville, and Thelma Deel of Spencer; three brothers, John G. Riddel of Monroeville, Ohio, Gene E. Riddel of Phoenix, Ariz., and James P. Riddel of Fairfax, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Lewis Ferrell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Glen Riddle, 73, of Grantsville, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 1994, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, after an extended illness. He was born in Burnthouse, a son of the late Levi Dale and Maudie D. Kirtpatrick Riddle. He was retired from Palton Coal Co. in Logan Co., and was a member of Christian Tabernacle, Cyclone. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Bailey Riddle; three sons, Charles Riddle of Cyclone, George Riddle and James Riddle, both of Grantsville; two daughters, Gladys Toler of Cyclone and Kathy Bailey of Grantsville; two sisters, Bessie Milton and Winnie Maze, both of Canton; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Dean Riddle and William Lee Riddle; one daughter, Crystal Gail Riddle; two brothers; and one sister. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Lewis Villers officiating. Burial was in Clayton Stump cemetery near Stumptown.

Robert F. Riddle, 93, of Parkersburg, died Friday, Feb. 25, 1994, at his residence. He was born in Stumptown, a son of the late Homer and Louisa J. Godfrey Riddle. He was a retired farmer and a former custodian at Rayon Elementary. He was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Minnie F. Barr Riddle; one son, Hale Riddle of Parkersburg; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters, and one infant son, Robert G. Riddle. Services were held at Kimes Funeral Home, with Rev. William P. Snider officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Memorial Park, Marietta.

Hallie Siers Rider, 71, of Nicut, died Monday, Aug. 1, 1994, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Andrew and Sarah McCune Sampson. She was a homemaker. Surviving are one daughter, Pearl Wildman of Parkersburg; two sons, Pete Siers of Spencer and Melvin Siers of Nicut; three brothers, Homer Sampson of Shock, Kirt Sampson and David Sampson, both of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Siers; second husband, William Rider; one daughter; three sons; five sisters; and five brothers. Allie Kenneth "A.K." Roberts, 73, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late A. L. and Vinnie Gainer Roberts. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served in World War II. He was a prisoner of war at Stalag 17. He retired from Corning Glass, and was a member of First Southern Fellowship of Vienna. Surviving are his wife, Joan Roberts; one son, Larry M. Roberts of Parkersburg; one daughter, Connie L. Rawson of Reedsville, Ohio; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one brother, Dennis Roberts of Charleston; and two sisters, Virginia Lofty of Parkersburg and Juanita Woodyard of Huntington. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Mark Allen Roberts; and two brothers, Foster Roberts and Eldon F. Roberts. Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Anthony B. Carson officiating. Entombment was in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Wanda J. Robinson, 64, of Crestview, Fla., formerly of Tanner, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Tanner, a daughter of the late Harry and Rugie Miller Fling. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, John R. Robinson; two daughters, Vicki Grogg of Crestview and Linda Whelan of Vine Grove, Ken.; one brother, Lyle Fling of Lakeland, Fla.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, three sisters and two brothers. Services were held at Tanner United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Foster officiating. Burial was in Tanner Baptist Church cemetery.

Ermel Marie Rogers, 81, of Charleston Health Care Center, died in Danville, Ken., in December, 1993. Born June 9, 1912, in Chloe, she was a daughter of the late Columbus and Jane Santy Groggs. She was a homemaker. Survivors include four sons, Clyde E. and Kenneth H. Rogers, both of Danville, Rev. James Rogers of Charlotte, N.C., and Paul Richard Rogers of Elyria, Ohio; three sisters, Ida Camp and Beulah Cole, both of Akron, Ohio, and Estel Sampson of Coolville, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Rogers. Services were held at Stith Funeral Home, with Rev. David Witten officiating. Burial was in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Randall Lee Rush, 56, of Richwood, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 1994, at Richwood Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Minnora, a son of Opal Cottrell Rush Siers of Minnora and the late Alfred Rush. He was a Protestant. Surviving in addition to his mother are four sisters, Naomi Rush of Minnora, Emogene Blosser of Parkersburg, Mary Field of Gassaway and Linda Winters of Newark, Ohio; and three brothers, Clarence Rush of Chloe, Dorse Rush and William Rush, both of Minnora. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Rush and Ottice Rush; and one half sister, Iva Rogers. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Earl Cayton officiating. Burial was in Minnora cemetery.
