Dorothy L. Westfall, 59, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1995, at St. Jospeh's Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illenss. She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Thelma Arnold Wilson. She was a retired magistrate's assistant in Grantsville, and was a member of Glenville Episcopal Church. Surviving are her husband, Scottie Westfall; two sons, Scottie Westfall II of Grantsville and Doug Westfall of Clinton, N.C.; one grandson, Scottie Westfall III of Grantsville; three granddaughters, Laura Westfall and Catie Westfall, both of Clinton, and Casey Westfall of Grantsville. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Kenneth Heiney officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Liddie Ellen Westfall, 74, of Pullman, died Tuesday, July 11, 1995, at Americare-Glenville after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Zemoria and Bessie Stafford Selmon. Surviving are four sons, Cherrell Wilson, Darrell Wilson and Kenneth Wilson, all of Grantsville, and Doil Wilson of Pullman; three daughters, Flossie Nicholson and Marlene Knight, both of Grantsville, and Betty Hosey of Pullman; two brothers, Bob Selmon of Big Springs and Harry Selmon of Rockport; and two sisters, Mae Wilson and Rosalee Collins, both of Grantsville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred H. Wilson; her second husband, Lester Westfall, Jr.; two daughters; and one grandson. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Nobe cemetery.

Kenneth P. White, 65, of Arnoldsburg, died Monday, Aug. 28, 1995, at Roane General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Earl and Ruby Lowe White. He was a sawyer in the timber industry. Surviving are two sisters, Doris Reynolds of Big Bend and Janavive Cottrell of Amboy, Ind.; and three brothers, Archie White of Alabama, Nelson White of Remmington, Ind., and Charles White of Mantua, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. WHYTSELL, LOVIE
Lovie Whytsell, 84, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1994, at Eldercare Nursing Home, Ripley, after an extended illness. She was born in Hur, a daughter of the late William "Bill" and Omie Yeager Slider. She moved to Roane County in the mid-1950's, where she worked at Staats Drug Store. She retired in 1975 from Spencer State Hospital, after which she provided home nursing care. She was a Methodist, and attended Egypt Chapel Church, near Spencer. Surviving are two sons, Charles R. Whytsell and Harold Whytsell, both of Spencer; four sisters, Ellen Craddock of Arnoldsburg, Virginia Starcher of Vienna, Ollie Starcher of Akron and Greta Sampson of Barberton, Ohio; one brother, Harry Slider of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Davis "Bud" Whytsell, in 1952; one son, William Edward Whytsell, in 1993; three sisters; and three brothers. Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial was in Lynch cemetery, near Arnoldsburg.

Roscoe Clyde Whytsell, 68, of Sand Ridge, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, at his residence. He was born in Richardson, a son of Velda Ritchie Whytsell of Sand Ridge and the late William E. Whytsell. He retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service, having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post 5959, Grantsville. He was retired from American Viscose Co., Parkersburg, and B.F. Goodrich Co., Grantsville. Surviving are his wife, Agnes Emmerich Whytsell; one daughter, Gisela V. Oberle of Seattle; one son, Richard A. Whytsell of Sand Ridge; one sister, Bessie Sutherland of Elyria, Ohio; one brother, Edward R. Whytsell of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Ella Lambert Wilson, 92, of Wagner Road, Morgantown, died Saturday, July 15, 1995, in Miami. She was born in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Sylvanus A. and Emma Divers McCartney. She was a graduate of University High School, received her bachelor's and master's degrees from West Virginia University, and also studied at Randolph Macon and Fairmont State College. She retired from Morgantown High School as a teacher, and had also taught in Wirt County and at University and Clay-Battelle high schools in Monongalia County. She was a lifetime member of WVU Alumni Association, American Association of University Women, and Business & Professional Women. She was a member of Drummond Chapel United Methodist Church, Morgantown. Surviving are one grandson; two great-granddaughters; three brothers, Dr. Hunter P. McCartney of Morgantown, Sull McCartney of Glenville, and Donald McCartney of Stumptown; and six sisters, Melva Robinson of Scott Depot, Mabel Mahaney and Marbie Smith, both of Grantsville, Mary Lou Bowe and Myrtle Roberts, both of Stumptown, and Margaret Kent of Machipougo, Va. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Warner, in 1921; second husband, Harlen Lambert, in 1964; third husband, Harold C. Wilson, in 1994; one son, Lynn H. Warner, in 1974; five sisters; and three brothers. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, with Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating, and burial in Lawnwood cemetery.

Foster A. Wilson, 65, of Paden City, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1995, at his residence. He was born in Grantsville, a son of the late Oley E. and Eliza Jane Richards Wilson. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an auto salesman for J&J Auto Sales, New Martinsville. He was a Methodist, a member of American Legion Post 86 of Paden City and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Surviving are two sons, Mark Wilson and Mike Wilson, both of New Martinsville; two daughters, Carol Pefferman of New Martinsville and Deborah Weigel of Darlington, Pa.; one brother, Chester Wilson of Friendly; one sister, Crystal Kight of Charleston; and eight grandchildren. WITTE, RAY
Ray Witte, 72, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, in Charleston, S.C. He was born near Milo, a son of the late Carl Witte and Harriet Wallbrown Witte. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1941 and saw action in the Pacific Theater in the submarine service for which he received several medals and decorations. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant in 1971. Surviving are three sons, Gary of Long Island, N.Y., Byron and Daryl of Charleston; two daughters, Charisse of Niceville, Fla., and Shelayne of Charleston; nine grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Elbon of Doylestown, Oh.; and one brother, Hubert of Akron, Oh. Services and burial were in Charleston, S.C.

Floy Woodford, 90 of Glenville, died Monday, April 10, 1995, at Calhoun General Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Ida Riddle Woodford. She was a retired employee of B. F. Goodrich Co. Surviving are two nieces, Elenor Lawson of Springfield, Va., and Lucille Johnson of Lancaster, Calif.; and three nephews, Russell Woodford of Oak Hill, Eugene Woodford and Bob Woodford, both of Morgantown. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Holly H. and Effie McWilliams Vannoy. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Surviving are two sons, James Wright and Warren "John" Wright, both of Grantsville; three step-daughters, Ruth Wright and Jean Shock, both of Mt. Zion, and June Miller of Akron; one stepson, Herb Wright of East Tawas, Mich.; four sisters, Olena M. Ball of Grantsville, Edna J. Aurilia Rusha Jarvis, 92, of Mud Fork, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1994, at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Sissonville, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late James Madison and Nancy Jane Murphy West. She was a homemaker and attended Mud Fork Union Church. Surviving are two sons, Charles Jarvis of Tallmadge, Ohio, and Henry Jarvis of Rochester, N.Y.; three sisters, Ocena Truman of Ivydale, Mattie Boggs and Emma McGraw, both of Spencer; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Bruce Jarvis, 76, of Spencer, died Thursday, May 26, 1994, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Oka, a son of the late Hoke and Edna Keaton Jarvis. He was a retired coal miner and a former rural mailman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the United Mine Workers Association. Surviving are his wife, Beulah Coen Jarvis; two daughters, Helen Cottle of Pulaski, Va., and Carolyn Batten of Carlisle, Pa.; two sons, Forest Jarvis of Waskom, Texas, and Charles R. Jarvis of Dunkirk, N.Y.; two sisters, Katie Helmick of Parkersburg and Daisy Butler of Millsboro, Del.; six grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Jarvis and Scott Jarvis. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Darrell Mollohan and Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Burial was in Swank cemetery, near Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Jarvis; two sons, Paul Jarvis and Marvin Jarvis; seven sisters; and three brothers. Services were held at Prudence Chapel U.M. Church, with Rev. Roger Flesher officiating. Burial was in Minnora cemetery.
