She was born in Spartanburg County, a daughter of the late George and Dora Lee Lindsay Pitts. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene and an employee of Span-America Medical Systems. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Duane Richards, formerly of Calhoun County, son of the late Shirdie and Eulah Richards of Norman Ridge; one daughter, Kathryn Michelle Page of Mauldin, S.C.; one son, Robert Shane Key of Simpsonville; one brother, Jason Pitts of Greer, S.C.; one sister, Deborah Whitehead of Greer, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Megan Danielle Page and Kenneth Duane Richards II. Services were held at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Gene Bradley officiating. Burial was in Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Ruth E. Richards, 87, of Grantsville, died Monday, Mar. 11, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Taz T. and Anna Goodnight Eagle. She was a homemaker, noted quilter and gardener. Surviving are one daughter, Betty L. Collins of Vincent; one son, Gale H. Richards of Dayton; one sister, Dessel Yoak of Big Bend; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Richards; three brothers, Harley Eagle, Carl Eagle and Hodd Eagle; one sister, Ona Yoak; and two grandsons, Gary L. Collins and Donald L. Richards. Rev. Francis M. Richards, 86, of Horner's Run, Pennsboro, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late George Washington and Icie Luecretia Cunningham Richards. He was a minister for the Church of God for 50 years, having served in Pennsboro, Pike, and Glendale. He was serving as pastor of Glen Dale Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Gray Davis Richards; one son, Sammy Richards of Stafford, Va.; one stepdaughter, Barbara Hurst of Parkersburg; one stepson, Edgar Davis, Jr., of Pennsboro; three brothers, Joseph Richards of Clarksburg, Porter Richards of Lima, Ohio, and Ray Richards of Greenwood; two sisters, Ruth Mason of Massillon, Ohio, and Minna Wood of Huntersville, N.C.; three grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Thompson Richards; his second wife, Ruth Payne Jack Richards; two brothers, William Richards and Holly Richards; and three sisters, Mary Dodd, Rachel Hoover and Malissa Richards. She was a former cook at Rainbow Hotel and Restaurant, Grantsville, for 33 years. Surviving are one daughter, Waunita Cunningham of Grantsville; three sons, Cecil G. Richards of Elizabeth, James E. Richards of Parkersburg and Charles D. Richards of Grantsville; one half-brother, Clyde Snider of Parkersburg; 21 grandchildren; and several great- grandchildren. Denver D. "Jim" Ritchie, 80, of Five Forks, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late William and Lelah Jane Wilson Ritchie. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, was retired from West Virginia Dept. of Highways and sang gospel music in Calhoun and surrounding areas for several years. He was a member of Ritchie Family Gospel Quartet and Five Forks Community Church. Surviving are two sons, Harold Eugene Ritchie of Five Forks and William R. Ritchie of Spencer; two brothers, Dale Ritchie of Big Springs and Glen Ritchie of Five Forks; two sisters, Edythe Ferrell of Grantsville and Edith Whipkey of Five Forks; and two grandchildren. Lois Bickle Roberts, 94, of Eustis, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, in Florida. She was born in Grantsville, a daughter of the late L.T. and Annie Holliday Bickle. She was a 1920 Parkersburg High School graduate and a graduate of Otterbein College in Ohio. She taught at Jefferson School, Parkersburg, for several years. She was a member of United Brethren Church, Christ United Methodist. Surviving are one daughter, Lois Lee Roberts of Eustis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George R. Roberts; two brothers, Frank Bickle and Russell Bickle; and two sisters, Anna Lou Minnich and Elizabeth Stevens. Services were held in Eustis.

Delma Slider Rogers, 79, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., formerly of Mt. Zion, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1996, at Harborside Healthcare Center, Palm Harbor, Fla. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Everett and Pearl Smith Kerby. She was a Florida resident for 36 years. She was a retired postmaster at Crystal Beach, Fla., and was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Tarpon Springs. Surviving are one son, Thomas G. Slider of Rutherford, N.C.; one daughter, Betty Brown of Tarpon Springs; five sisters, Evelyn Hersman of Millwood, Velma Prine of Vienna, Maggie Treadway of Buchanan Dam, Tex., and Tessie Clutts and Violet Barker, both of Florida; two brothers, Hubert Kerby and Warren Kerby, both of Mt. Gene Rose, 58, of Terra Alta, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, at Garrett Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md., after a short illness. He was born in Osie, a son of Estel Shamblin Rose of Morgantown and the late Spencer Rose. He was retired with 27 years of service as a system analyst with B.F. Goodrich. He was a past minister for Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Sinks Grove, and Union Memorial Baptist Church and past lay speaker for six years at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Charge, Grantsville. He was minister of Grove Church, Grove. He was past member of Gap Mills Ruritan Club and past announcer for farmer's day parade, Gap Mills. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Gail Loughry Rose; three daughters, Colleen Prisock of Morgantown, Dorinda Kisner of Terra Alta and Anita Bailey of Columbiana, Ohio; two sons, Dale Rose and Kevin Rose, both of Morgantown; two brothers, Noble Rose of Joplin, Mo., and Leonard Rose of Williston, S.C.; one sister, Rosalie Metheny of Creston, S.C.; and 15 grandchildren.
