BELL, HAROLD S.

Harold S. Bell, 59, of Annamoriah, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Earl and Monnie Davis Bell. He was a former employee of the Lectro Melt Corp., Barberton, Ohio. Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Greathouse Bell; one son, Harold S. Bell, Jr., of Annamoriah; three daughters, Betty Smith of Barberton, Kimberly A. Bell of Grantsville and Sarah S. Shaffer of Creston; three brothers, Kenneth Bell and Tom Bell, both of Barberton and Shirley Bell of Manchester, Ohio; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Bell; and two sisters, Ruby Cooper and Betty Duskey. Services were held at Snyder Chapel Church, Annamoriah, with Rev. Farley Blankenship officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

BELLETTE, MILDRED M.

Mildred Marie Bellette, 85, of Pennsboro, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born on Chats Run, near Pennsboro, a daughter of the late Bert and Stella Wade Jones. She was a Pennsboro High School graduate and a homemaker. She was Protestant. Surviving are two brothers, Vohn Jones of Big Springs and Kermit Jones of Pennsboro; and her caregiver and niece, Linda Jewell of Buck Run. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion "Red" Bellette; three brothers, Cecil Jones, Archie Jones and Clifford Jones. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Evangelist Terry Jones officiating, and burial in Masonic cemetery, Ellenboro. Visitation was scheduled after 9 a.m., Wednesday.

BELLVILLE, RUTH J.

Ruth J. Bellville, 92, of Mark Rest Center, McConnelsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, at the rest center. She was born in Munday, a daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte Lace Green. She was retired from Parmiter Nursing Home, Malta, where she worked as a cook. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ, McConnelsville. Surviving are one son, Robert Bellville of McConnelsville; one daughter, Ruth Eileen Rein of Lordstown; one brother, Donald Green of San Metao, Fla.; one stepbrother, Wink Green of Dayton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one step-uncle, Billy Joe Patterson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel O. Bellville; her stepmother, Ellen Patterson Green; two sisters, Hazel Jester and Helen Green; two brothers, Car Green and Arthur Green; and one great- grandchild. Graveside services were held at McConnelsville cemetery.

BELT, STELLA T.

Stella T. Belt, 70, of Munday, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. She was born in Berea, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Mary Tiekarczyk Kotlarz. She was a homemaker and attended Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth J. Belt; three daughters, Sherry Courtney of Andover, Ohio, Cynthia Kane of Sharon, Ohio, and Gayle Smith of Ocala, Fla.; four sons, Christopher Norred, Michael Norred and James Norred, all of Danville, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Andrietta of Toledo and Mary Peters of Spring Hill, Fla.; three brothers, Walter Kotlarz and Frank Kotlarz, both of Avonlake, Ohio, and Edward Kotlarz of Sun City, Ariz.; three step-daughters; two stepsons; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Norred; one brother, Joe Kotlarz; one sister, Lottie Kotlarz; and two grand-daughters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Don Tranel officiating. Burial was in Maze cemetery, near Munday.

BENNETT, HAZEL

Hazel Louisa Jane Bennett, 78, of Grantsville, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, in Marietta Convalescent Center. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late John and Emma Yeager Bennett. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by six daughters, Emogene Hitchcock of Parkersburg, Mary Steorts of Marietta, Alice Plecker of Greenville, Va., Christian Hendershot of Lower Salem, Sandra Bennett and Pamela Cason, both of Grantsville; two sons, Bruce Bennett of Spencer and Ronald Bennett of Pensacola, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Bennett, in September 1996, and one son, Charles Bennett. Services were scheduled Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Chester Hitchcock officiating, and burial in Hunt cemetery near Big Bend.

BENNETT, LILLIAN

Lillian Bennett, 94, of Spencer, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at Miletree Health Care Center, Spencer. She was born in Taylor County, a daughter of the late Jacob and Eva Rexroad Frederick. She was retired from Clevite Bronze Co., Cleveland, and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Grantsville. Surviving are three daughters, Beverla Kendall of Stump-town, Kathleen Cut of Cleveland, and Latricia Thomas of Poway, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Malona of Mineral Wells; and one brother, Edgar Frederick of Mentor, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bennett. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Kenneth Kendall officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.

BENNETT, ORVAL C.

Orval C. Bennett, 84, of Parkersburg, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Elza and Jane Harris Bennett. He was a heavy equipment operator for Kelley Construction Co., Clarksburg, and a former employee of Summitt County Engineers, Akron, Ohio. Surviving are four sons, Harry Bennett of Roanoke, Va., Roy Bennett and Kenneth Bennett, both of Akron, and Robert Bennett of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Geneva Husk of Grantsville; two half-sisters, Ivalene Richards of Clarksburg and Eleanor Mills of Akron; and one half-brother, Golden "Bud" Bennett of Clarksburg. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating. Burial was in Slider cemetery, Mt. Zion.

BETTS, GEORGE

George Betts, 80, of Grantsville, died Thursday, July 17, 1997, at Pineview Health Care Center, Harrisville. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Ray and Pearl Cain Betts. Surviving are two sisters, Mary Hosey of Garrettsville, Ohio, and Madeline Smith of Beckley; and two brothers, Ray Betts of New Comerstown, Ohio, and Bill Betts of Diamond, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Roberts; and three brothers, Harry Betts, Kennard Betts and Bernard Betts. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial was in Betts cemetery, Grantsville.

BIANCA, ANGELINA

Angelina Bianca, 88, of Mt. Zion, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer. She was born in Phillipsburg, N.J., a dauhgter of the late Nicodemus and Maria Pugliese. She was retired from Sterns and Sterns Silk Mill, Easton, Pa. She had attended St. Phillips and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, and Barnes Run Community Church near Mt. Zion. Surviving are one daughter, Fay Coon of Mt. Zion; one sister, Victoria Krosincky of Phillipsburg; three brothers, Sam Pugliese of Wyomissing, Pa., and Joe Pugliese and Nick Pugliese, both of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore Bianca; one son, Nicholas S. Bianca; two sisters; and two brothers. Services pending at Noto and Wynkoop Funeral Home, Phillipsburg. Local arrangements by Stump Funeral Home.

BILLY, FRANK H.

Frank H. Billy, 69, of Eastlake, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at his residence. Born in Simpson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Frank J. and Bessie (Collins) Billy, Jr. He retired in 1993 from Motch Merryweather with 42 years of service. He was a 45-year member of Machinist Union Lodge #1130. Surviving are his wife, Ada L. Jones Billy; three sons, Leonard Cunningham of Grantsville, Thomas Billy of Thompson and Carey Billy of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Virginia Goodnight of Madison, Linda Murry of Cleveland and Gloria Klug of Lakeline; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Billy of Eastlake; and three sisters, Jenny Hosey of Ocala, Fla., Dorothy Ford of Garfield Heights, Ohio, and Clara Williams of Glenville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Hanson. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Goodnight cemetery.

BLAUVELT, WILMA DEWEESE

Wilma DeWeese Blauvelt, 48, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Minnora, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997, at her home following a long illness. She was born in Minnora, a daughter of Mabyn DeWeese of Minnora and the late Rex DeWeese. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and was a member of Churlew United Methodist Church, Palm Harbor. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Barry Blauvelt; one son, Brian Shane Seckman of Jane Lew; five sisters, Berdeal Conley of Morgantown, Jill Metz of Minnora, Arlena Jarvis of Reedy, Judy Tucker of Parkersburg and Joyce Sue Dobbins of Cape Coral, Fla.; four brothers, Clarence DeWeese of Orma, Rick DeWeese of Belmont, Ronald DeWeese of Minnora and David DeWeese of Statesville, N.C. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Minnora United Methodist Church. Services and burial were held in Palm Harbor on Aug. 25. BOGGS, OLIVE DALE

Olive Dale Boggs, 61, of Nebo, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Charleston Area Medical Center. She was born in Minnora, a daughter of the late Curt and Tilly Brannon Hicks. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Chester Edgar Boggs; three sons, Chester Edgar Boggs, Jr., of Nebo, James Moneypenny of Spencer and Curtis Moneypenny of Olympia, Wash.; three daughters, Theresa Goddard of Wheeling, Shelba Siers of Chloe and Amy Tanner of Nebo; three sisters, Joyce Metz of Akron, Janet Rexroad of Parkersburg and Oma June Tucker of Reedy; and nine grandchildren. Services were held at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with Rev. Darrell Mollohan officiating. Burial was in Hicks cemetery, Chloe.

BOISE, OLLIE A.

Ollie A. Boise, 79, of Belpre, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, at The Arbors of Marietta. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus "Lum" and Martha "Mattie" Villers Arthur. She graduated from Wirt County High School, the only member of her family to do so. She managed a grocery store for Pearce Campbell of Creston and later was a partner in Creston General Store. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Vienna. Surviving are one daughter, Ola I. Boise of Belpre; one son, M. Allen Boise of Westerville, Ohio; two sisters, Laura Meadows of Parkersburg and Bertha Wells of Creston; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Rose Boise of Westerville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manford Boise; four brothers, Herbert Arthur, Louie Arthur, John Arthur and Ira Arthur; and three sisters, Hazel Henthorn, Ola Wilson and Ella Buck. Services were held at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Rev. Jonathon Lands and Rev. Clay E. Sloan officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Memorial cemetery, Reno.

BONAR, LLOY D.

Dr. Lloy D. Bonar, 90, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Scottsdale, Ariz., died Monday, Oct. 27, at Lakewood Hospital, Lakewood, Ohio. He was born in Marshall County, a son of the late Eustace I. Bonar and Retta Montgomery Bonar Liston. He was a 1925 graduate of Mansfield High School, Mansfield, Ohio, attended West Liberty College, and received a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in 1929. He attended W.Va. Medical School and graduated from University of Cincinnati Medical School in 1933. He was a general practitioner from 1935-42 in Mansfield. During World War II, he served as flight surgeon and captain with a pilot's rating in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Troop Carrier Group, based in England and France. He was an active pilot and airplane owner for 48 years and was a member of Flying Physicians Association. After World War II, he returned to Mansfield where he practiced obstetrics and gynecology from 1946-62. From 1962-80, he specialized in gynecology with an emphasis on cancer surgery. He was a member of Executive University Rotary, Westbrook Country Club, Marquis Masonic Lodge 690 AF&AM and First Congregational Church. Surviving are his wife, Edythe Salo Maxim-Bonar of North Ridgeville; one brother, C. Robert Bonar of Harrisville; two nephews, Robert G. Bonar of Grantsville and David Bonar of Potomac, Md.; two nieces, Barbara L. Hadley of Marietta and Diane Bonar of Sacramento, Calif.; three great-nephews; and four great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Nelson; his second wife, Rosemary Bonar; and one brother, Martin C. Bonar. Memorial services were to be announced at a later date.
