Robert N. Bland, 57, of Charleston, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at home. A son of the late Charles Noell Bland and Pearl Maxwell Bland, he was originally from St. Albans, and was a resident of Charleston for 32 years. He was a graduate of Duke University and West Virginia University College of Law. He was a senior law partner and founder of Bland and Bland attorney-at-law, Charleston, and member of Kanawha County Bar Association, W.Va. Bar Association, W.Va. Trial Lawyers Association, American Trial Association, and Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, Charleston. He was a former Kanawha County assistant prosecutor and charter member of Y's Men's Club, support group for YMCA, past president of YMCA and W.Va. State Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis. Surviving are his wife, Paula McCormick Bland; two daughters, Robin Jean Bland of Charleston and Heather Bland Parks of South Charleston; one son, Shannon Maxwell Bland of Charleston; one sister, Betti Bland Volkers of New Orleans and Charleston; and two grandchildren. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church with Rev. W. Frank Mansell, Jr., officiating, and burial in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation was scheduled Tuesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Barlow-Bonall Funeral Home, Charleston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Robert Bland Memorial Fund of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation.

Gay Boatright, 95, of Sand Ridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, in Roane General Hospital, following a long illness. He was born in Calhoun County and was a former employee of Calhoun Super Service for many years and was a former Calhoun County Circuit Clerk with 18 years service. Surviving are two daughters, Paula Price of Barberton, Ohio, and Betty Norman of Norton, Ohio; six sons, Pete, Roy and Jack Boatright, all of Norton, Calvin Boatright of Sand Ridge, Jim Boatright of Clinton, Ohio, and Odell Boatright of Barberton; two sisters, Ethel O'Brion and Bethel Harris, both of Barberton; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Boatright. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating. Burial was in Sand Ridge cemetery.
BOLES, JOHN B.
John B. Boles, 79, of Big Bend, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at his residence. He was a native of Tennessee and was retired from Metropolitan General Hospital, Cleveland. Surviving are his wife, Pansy Boles; three daughters, Loretta Holbert of Big Bend, Ada Honaker of North Carolina and Linda Showman of Cleveland; six sons, Floyd Boles, Richard Boles and Marvin Boles, all of North Carolina, Donald Boles, Nolan Boles and Blaine Boles, all of Cleveland; four sisters, Ella Brown of Dayton, Ohio, Sarah Rich and Mary Parker, both of Oklahoma; and Hazel Houston of Tennessee; one brother, Art Boles of Oklahoma; 27 grandchildren; and 21 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Rose Hardin Boles. Services and burial were in Cleveland.
BOLLINGER, DEANNA LYNN
Deanna Lynn Bollinger, 39, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, Apr. 18, 1998, at the residence of her parents, Donald R. and Pearl Mace Bollinger of Washington, W.Va., following an extended illness. She was born in Warren, Ohio. She was a member of Wash-ington United Methodist Church. She graduated from Herndon (Virginia) High School, and received her associates degree in nursing from Parkersburg Community College. She was employed as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in 1981 until she became ill in 1987. Surviving in addition to her parents are one sister, Nikki Rae Bollinger of Parkersburg; one brother, Scott Alan Bollinger of Columbus, Ohio; and maternal grandmother, Marie Mace of Vienna. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Raymond and Lucy Starcher Bollinger of Grantsville, and maternal grandfather, Glen F. Mace of Arnoldsburg. Services were held Tuesday, 4 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Rick DeQuasie and Rev. Elwood Fleming officiating. Burial was in Mace cemetery, Calhoun County. Nellie G. Bonnell, 91, of Parkersburg, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Worthington Manor Care Center, Parkersburg. She was born in Big Battle, Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Terrence Lee and Margaret E. Tate Ford. She was a home-maker and a member of Hurst Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Alma Halker of Marietta, Margaret Corbitt of Vienna and Virginia Ringer of Parkersburg; one son, Gene Bonnell of West Union; two sisters, Arvilla Millican of Grantsville and Roanna Holbert of Cleveland; 17 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Edward Bonnell; one son, Lloyd Bonnell; four brothers; one sister; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Spurgeon Funeral Home, West Union, with Pastor Denver Burnside officiating. Burial was in Salem K of P cemetery.

Hattie Booher, 96, of Millstone, died Friday, Mar. 20, 1998, in Roane General Hospital, following a long illness. She was born in Mt. Zion, a daughter of the late Marsellus and Hannah Slider Stout. She was a former cook in various restaurants in Calhoun County, and was employed by Seiberling Rubber Co., Barberton, Ohio, during World War II. She was a member of Stoney Point United Methodist Church, Arnoldsburg, and American Legion Auxiliary, Victor Hamilton Post #82, Grantsville. Surviving are two daughters, Irene Lynch of Arnoldsburg and Velma Wood of Millstone; one son, Donald Booher of Barberton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester B. Booher in 1983; three infant children; one grandson, Ronald Wood; four brothers; and four sisters. Services were held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert Shannon and Rev. Homer Hensley officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Eva Nell Brackin, 77, of Akron, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1898, at her residence. She was born in Chloe, the daughter of the late William and Laura Conley. She moved to Akron in 1941 and was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 35 years. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Surviving are one brother, Robert Conley of Akron; one sister, Orvia Harold of Akron; one stepson, Dale; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Patti. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Brackin, on Nov. 18, 1998; her first husband, David Gibson, in 1961; two brothers, Delmar and Samuel Conley; and one sister, Anna Conley. Services were held at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, Akron, with Rev. William D. Lee officiating. Burial was in Hillside Memorial Park.

Frances J. Brady, 59, of Mathias, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va. She was born in Gilmer County. She was a member of Walker E.U.B. Church, Walker. Worth, Tex., Dawn Marie Graham of Northfork and Tracy Lee Robinson of Mathias; one son, Randy Scott Brady of Mathias; two sisters, Carolyn Wallace of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Marilyn Nygard of Fairfax, Minn.; one brother, Veral Minney of Ripley; nine foster children; 13 grandchildren; 11 foster grandchildren; and one foster great-grandchild. Mae Alexander Brinson, 93, of Minnora, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston. She was born in Pickens, S.C., the daughter of the late J.C. (Sweet) and Louise Sanders Alexander and step-daughter of the late Nancy L. Holden Alexander. She taught school in both Pickens and Oconce counties, South Carolina, for several years. She spent her last years in Redfield, Ark., before moving to West Virginia to live with her son and family. She was a Baptist and a member of Redfield Missionary Church. She was active in church work for many years. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John Ware and Kristine Saunders Brinson of Minnora; twn granddaughters, Dana Marie Brinson and Jessica Lynne Brinson, both of Minnora; one gra dson, David Scott Brinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Inez Alexander Wilhite of Walhalla, S.C., and Naomi Alexander Beard of Pickens; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ware Brinson, Sr. Services were held at Redfield Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Redfield cemetery. Sanford R. Brown, 75, of Springfield, Ohio, died Thursday, Jan 1, 1998, at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield. He was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Hamden, Ohio, a son of the late Orin and Minnie McWilliams Brown. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Springfield, a World War II Army veteran, and was retired from Air Tools (Global Industrial Technologies). Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Ethel Collins Brown, formerly of Calhoun County; one son, Olan Dean Brown of Lima, Ohio; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sara Dale Brown, and one son, Gary R. Brown. Services were held at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Peters officiating. Burial was in Ferncliff cemetery, Springfield.

She was born in Calh un County, and was a member of Bryner Chapel Church, Annamoriah, where she served as church secretary. Surviving are several nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Virginia Swart of Creston.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bryner. He was born in Calhoun County, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a former employee of Tuthill Corp., Ft. Wayne. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Louisa Lauchlan Burns; one son, Robert E. Burns, Jr., of Grantsville; two daughters, Donna Lorrain Burns and Linda Irene Burns, both of Ft. Wayne; one sister, Colleen Duskey of Grantsville; and one grandchild, Connor Burns Stucker of Ft. Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in Good Hope cemetery. Visitation was scheduled 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
