Jennings Forest "Biz" Riggs, 96, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at SunRise Care and Rehabilitation Center, Glenville. He was born in Hur and was a former resident of Grantsville. He moved to Charleston in 1933 where he joined the First Presby-terian Church, became a 32nd degree Mason at Beni Kedem Lodge and belonged to International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was chief engineer and electrician at the State Capitol for many years. He was later employed by various commercial electrical contracting firms and foreman or consultant. Surviving are one son, Robert of Virginia; seven grand-children, Steven of Virginia, Terry Ann of England, Cindy Poore of North Carolina, and Pamela Waldren, Susan Aylesworth, Scott and Michael, all of Ohio; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Jarvis Riggs in 1985, and one son, Jack. Services will be held on Thursday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Eureka Lodge #4, AF&AM, of Grantsville, at Mt. Olive cemetery, Mt. Zion. Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon on Thursday until the hour of services.
ROACH, THELMA
Thelma E. Roach, 80, of Little Hocking, Ohio, died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Arnoldsburg, the daughter of the late Ralph and Emma Craddock Sampson. She was a homemaker and attended Faith Chapel, Coolville. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Kenna W. Roach; three sons, Albert Roach of Parkersburg, Willard Roach of Little Hocking and Rex Roach of Belpre, Ohio; four sisters, Leval Starcher of Rittman, Ohio, Velta Starcher of Ravenswood, Bessie Nutter of Fleming, Ohio, and Nina Mae Saunders of South Carolina; 15 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ernest W. Roach; one grandson, Arthur Roach; one granddaughter, Terry Roach; five brothers; and two sisters. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Reed-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre, with Wilbert Lowe officiating, and burial in Decatur Methodist Church cemetery.
ROBERTS, LIZZIE
Lizzie Roberts, 94, of Spencer, died Friday, Mar. 12, 1999, at Roane General Hospital. She was born in Beech, the daughter of the late Seldon and Geneva Hathaway Wayne. She formerly worked at Spencer State Hospital and was a homemaker. Surviving are three daughters, Jewel Vanke of Barberton, Ohio, Genevieve Stump of Akron, Ohio, and Lela Carpenter of Parma Heights, Ohio; two sons, Holly Roberts of El Paso, Tex., and Deo Roberts of Spencer with whom she made her home along with grandson Anthony Roberts; an additional 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burla Roberts; two sons, Guy and George Roberts; and four brothers, Lee, Bruce, Oral and Shirley Wayne. Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. John Bowen officiating. Burial was in Eventide cemetery, Spencer.

Dustin M. Robey, 17, of Vienna, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Parkersburg, the son of Dave and Linda Hardman Robey. Surviving in addition to his parents are one sister, Selena Star Robey of Vienna; one brother, Conner David Robey of Vienna; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Sauers of Vienna; maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Hardman of Calhoun County; and paternal grandmother, Gertrude Robey of Parkersburg. Services were held at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Gary Green officiating. Burial was in Evergreen North cemetery.

Paul B. Robinson, 82, of Grantsville, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Charleston Area Medical Center. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Homer and Maude Boone Robinson. He was retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Co. with 33 years service. Surviving are two sons, Richard Robinson of Mena, Ariz., and Joe Robinson of Portsmouth, Va.; one daughter, Phyllis Bond of Newton, Ala.; one sister, Emegean Hartshorn of Grantsville; one brother, Cleo Robinson of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Robinson in 1996. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Wilma Ann Robinson, 48, of Nobe, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at her residence. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Jackie and Goldie Frederick Knight. She was a homemaker and member of Chapel Baptist Church, Nobe. Surviving are her husband, William Robinson; one daughter, Sherry Robinson of Nobe; two sons, Jeremy Collins of Danville, N.C., and William Robinson of Nobe; two sisters, Sharon Robinson of Nobe and Janice Taylor of Big Springs; two brothers, Jackie Ray Knight and Stanley Knight, both of Big Springs; and two grandchildren, Miranda and Skylan Robinson. Leon "Harve" Rogers, 60, of Leavittsburg, Ohio, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at his residence. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Russell and Mae Lambert Rogers. He formerly worked at Rockwell International and retired from Copperweld in July, 1999, after 13 years as a steelworker. Surviving are his wife, Gloria M. Rogers; step-mother, Ruth Rogers of Warren, Ohio; five daughters, Cindy Hatfield of Southington, Ohio, Sherry Bise of Freedom, Ohio, Paula Heltzel and Delta Labbe, both of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Priscilla Hartman of Leavittsburg, Ohio; one son, Lonnie Rogers of Girard, Ohio; two half-sisters, Judy Rogers and Peggy Keener, both of Warren, Ohio; one brother, Donnie Rogers of Warren; three half-brothers, Victor Conley of Espyville, Pa., John Rogers of Warren and Mike Rogers of Sharon, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Conley, and three sisters, Beulah Conley, Eulak Nicholas and Garnet Simmons. Services were held at James Funeral Home, Newton Falls. Opal W. Rogers, 79, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at her residence. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late George W. and Dora Wyers Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of Jefferson Baptist Temple, Parkersburg. Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Anges of Mesquite, Tex.; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Lowther of Waverly. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Keith and Arthur Wilson, and two sisters, Margaret Lowther and Lottie Putnam. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg, with Dr. Harley E. Bailey officiating. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Shirley R. "Roy" Rogers, 62, of Grants-ville, died Friday, Mar. 5, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born at Frozen Run, the son of the late Oscar Clayton and Dorothy Myers Rogers. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Glenville, and owner of R&R Tire Co. Surviving are his wife, Rosetta Bennett Rogers; three daugh-ters, Shirley Langford of Weston, and Ginger Smith and Amanda Rogers, both of Grantsville; two sons, Robert Rogers of Akron, Ohio, and Phillip Rogers of Grantsville; one sister, Edna Robinson of Johnstown, Pa.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Ceme-tery.

Frances V. Rose, 65, of Munday, died Saturday, Apr. 17, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Clay County, the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Conley Boggs. She was a member of Bell Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired as a supervisor at Wirt Inflatable Specialists, Elizabeth, with 18 years of service. Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Alfred "Buck" Rose; one son, Alfred "Bucky" Rose, Jr., of Munday; two daughters, Glenna Hoskins of Arnoldsburg and Brenda Rose of Munday; one brother, Dennis Boggs of Rittman, Ohio; two sisters, Pauline Myers of Elkview and Goldie Mae McIntyre of Uler; and two grandchildren, Ryka Mangus of Munday and Jeffrey Hoskins of Arnoldsburg. Mildred Geraldine Rose, 75, of Munday, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Munday, the daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie Keener Rose, and was a Methodist and a homemaker. Surviving are her special friend, Bernard Kerby of Munday; one brother, Robert H. Rose of Cleveland, Ohio; and one sister, Goldie Haymaker of Belmont, Ohio. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Blanch Rose, Hazel B. Bell, Flossie M. Monroe, Edith Null and Dessell S. Reed, and two brothers, Russell Rose and Archie Rose. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Wolverton cemetery, Munday.

Ross Rose, 78, of Munday, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, following a long illness. He was born in Munday, the son of the late Samp and Hazel Munday Rose. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from O. Ames Co. with 40 years service. He was a member of Hartley Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Elma M. Lynch Rose; two daughters, Cathy Cheuvront of Elizabeth and Nancy Hornbeck of Parkersburg; one son, Ronald Rose of Parkersburg; one sister, Nona Maze of Munday; five grandchildren, Melanie and Joe Cheuvront of Elizabeth, Nicholas and Adam Hornbeck of Parkersburg, and Teresa Rose of Parkersburg; and one great-grand-daughter, Nichole Rose. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Evangelist Eugene Conger officiating. Burial will be in Hartley cemetery, Brohard. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday, 5 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, one hour prior to services.
