Gladys Audra Frymier, 89, of Tanner, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston. She was born in Ritchie County, the daughter of the late Lon and Rosanna Byrd Newlon. She was a former owner of Fry's Cash Station, Tanner, and was also a cook at Tanner School and a senior companion. She attended Roseville United Methodist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Rita Stewart of Jane Lew, Elaine Perrin of Coxs Mill, Merceline Bennett of Tanner, Maxine Gumm of Grantsville and Carolyn Amos of Belpre; three sons, Robert Frymier of Parkersburg, William C. Frymier of Linn and Orval "Jack" Frymier of Tanner; one half-brother, Clarence Pete Newlon of Weston; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paris Rexroad Frymier in 1980, and one brother. Services were held at Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in New Mt. Olive cemetery.
GAINER, A.L. "JINKS"
A.L. "Jinks" Gainer, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, in Kingman, Ariz. He was born at Revere, the son of the late Ernest Lee and Mary Ann Ferguson Gainer. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1933 and was a member of the Alumni Association. He retired from Philadelphia Gas Works with 30 years service and U.S. Navy Reserves with 36 years service. He was past member of Arizona Governor's Advisory Council, Western Arizona Council of Governments Advisory Council, Mohave County Council on Aging, Mohave County Advisory Council, Chat-N-Chow Nutrition Center Council, Mohave Roaming Sams, and Branch 260 Mohave County Fleet Reserve Association; charter and life member of Kingman V.F.W. Post 10386, amateur radio operator; member of National Search and Rescue and Mohave County Emergency Services as a teacher of radiological defense, and he taught programs to law enforcement officers and fire fighters. Surviving are one son, Albert L. Gainer, Jr.; two daughters, Beverly Ann Tatum and Ava Lea Gainer; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lucille M. Gainer; one son, Robert Lee Gainer; and one sister, Susan Mae Gainer. No funeral was planned. He was cremated and buried beside his wife.
GAINER, EVERETT, JR.
Everett Gainer, Jr., 82, of Joker, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at his home. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Everett and Ella F. Garretson Gainer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Rubber Fabricators, Grantsville, and was a farmer and a Methodist. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Salmons of Weirton; one sister, Eleanor Barnes of Grantsville; three grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie M. Gainer, in 1989; three brothers, Vernon, Artie and Lora Gainer; and two sisters, Scottie Dawson and Audrey Garretson. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Roger McKee officiating. Burial was in St. Paul cemetery, Mt. Zion.

Larry G. Gainer, 68, of Elizabeth Township, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at home. He was born in Grantsville, the son of Lenore Johnson Gainer Booher of Grantsville and the late Artie Gainer. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1948 and Glenville State College in 1952. He was a retired superintendent of the Coal & Coke Division of Clairton Plant, U.S. Steel Corp., member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church, U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, president of Clairton Works Credit Union, and member of Stephen Bayard Mason Lodge 526, AF&AM. He was a charter member and past president of Central Lions Club, past president of Eastern States Coke Oven & Blast Furnace Association, and served as an honor guard for Dwight D. Eisenhower. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Oleva Fowler Gainer; one son, Ronald G. Gainer of Jefferson Boro., Pa.; three daughters, Kathryn D'Ottavio of Robinson Township, Pa., Patrice DeMarco of Elizabeth Township and Ellen Gainer of Whitehall, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Judith Chalfant of Fredericks-burg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Eliza-beth, Pa., with Rev. Charles Fowler officiating. Burial was in Round Hill cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
GAINER, WILLIE HUBERT
Willie Hubert "Hube" Gainer, 82, of Ravenswood, formerly of Grantsville, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born at Eva, Gilmer County, the son of the late Oakey and Dottie Cooper Gainer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served as a combat infantryman in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters and was wounded in action in Germany in 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Distinguished Unit Badge, and World War II Victory Ribbon. He was retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Co. with 15 years of service and was a member of VFW Post #3488, Sandyville, American Legion Post 118, Ravenswood, Silverton Grange #506, and Enon Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Elah Hartshorn Gainer; one brother, Hale Gainer of Newport News, Va.; and two sisters, Fern Stutler of Parkersburg and Eloise Byrd of Cox's Mills. Services will be held Thursday, 1:30 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Lorous Roberts and Harry Siers officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation was scheduled on Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Gilead W. Gault, 72, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, in Parkersburg. Surviving are one son, Wilmer, Jr., of Parkersburg; two daughters, Linda Snider of Big Springs and Betty Weckbacher of Ohio; and one brother, Glenn Gault, Sr., of Parkersburg. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens, with military rites by American Legion Post 15.

Leona V. Gill, 76, of Smithville, died Saturday, Mar. 27, 1999, at Charleston Area Medical Center. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Leonard and Arzanna Freed Mathess. She was a member of Smith-ville United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women's Society. She retired from Ritchie County Board of Education as a school bus operator and was a member of Smithville Senior Citizens. Surviving are one daughter, Annette J. Titus of Smithville; one son, James W. Gill of Smithville; two sisters, Theta Hammer of Parkersburg and Lenore Fields of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Estell Mathess of Parkersburg; and three grandchildren, Lee Lawrence and Jodi and Kayla Gill, all of Smithville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, James J. Gill; one sister, Helen McHenry; and an infant brother, Henry Mathess. Services were held at Smithville U.M. Church, with Rev. Carlton Wilson and Pastor Bill Morrison officiating. Burial was in Harrisville IOOF cemetery.

Alma B. Godfrey, 91, of Arcadia Nursing Home, died Sunday, Oct. 3, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Stumptown, the daughter of the late Frances and Myrtle Hayhurst Vannoy. She was a member of Methodist Church, Stumptown. Surviving are two sons, Bernard J. Godfrey and Robert L. Godfrey, both of Belpre, Ohio; six grandchildren; nine great-grand-children; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley, in 1995; an infant daughter; an infant grandson; an infant great-granddaugh-ter; three sisters; and two brothers. Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Dr. Dennis Mohler officiating. Burial was in Rockland cemetery.

Geraldine Godfrey, 76, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Stumptown, died Monday, Aug. 9, 1999, in Akron City Hospital. She was born in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Omar and Monnie Williams Godfrey. She was a personal caregiver for many years. She is survived by several cousins. Graveside rites were held at Collins Community cemetery, Stumptown, with Harry Siers officiating.
GOODRICH, PAUL
Paul R. Goodrich, 59, of Sand Ridge, died Saturday, Apr. 24, 1999, at his home. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Ottie and Bertie Parsons Goodrich. He was an equipment operator in the construction industry and was a timberman. He attended Rush Run Baptist Church near Stumptown. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Louise Greathouse Good-rich; three daughters, Tammy Yoak of Nobe, Lesa Dawn Goodrich of Grantsville and Brenda Cottrell of Millstone; two sons, Paul R. Goodrich II and Ricky Joe Goodrich, both of Sand Ridge; two sisters, Jean Steele of Normantown and Betty Lamp of Barberton, Ohio; one brother, Warder Goodrich of Normantown; 10 grand-children; and two step- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bertie Goodrich; one brother, Dale Goodrich; and one sister, Etta Furr. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Lewis Villers officiating. Burial was in Collins Com-munity cemetery, Stumptown.

Lloyd Calvin Greathouse, 56, of Chloe, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at his home following a long illness. He was the son of the late Johnathon and Myrtle Green Greathouse. He was timbercutter and farmer. Surviving are his wife, Wanedith Greathouse; three sons, Frances L. Greathouse of South Carolina, Billy Joe Greathouse of Seattle, Wash., and Terry Allen Greathouse of Chloe; four daugh-ters, Vickey Anderson of Orma, Elaine McCumbers and Joanna Morris, both of Chloe, and Jane Greathouse of Beechy Ridge; two brothers, Jack Truman of Orangeville, Ohio, and Okey Truman of Sharon, Pa.; one sister, Annie Cross of Alliance, Ohio; 14 grand-children; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Andy Greathouse, and three grandsons. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Donald Dawson officiating, and burial in Metheny cemetery.
